Chapter 9: Siren Stronghold [ 5 ]

Step...

Step...

Step.

The two old men turned around with frowns, spotting the same crimson eyed man they had seen in the inn. He acted really suspicious, and odds were, he was a spy sent by the humans.

They had led him into an alley after they realized he was following them, but why was he standing so lifelessly? What’s wrong with him?

Coughing, one of the old men stepped forward.

"Ahem. Is there something you want from us?"

No answer came.

"Hmm? Are you deaf? Young man, you know it’s rude to—"

"Why are you trying to be oblivious, when all three of us know why we came here," the man said.

The two old men took a step back, feeling a strange pressure coming from him. They couldn’t put their fingers on it, but they felt like one wrong move would get them killed.

So instead, they reached into their back pockets and pulled out thin swords. The man’s eyes lit up when he saw the weapons.

"Oooh. I’ve been looking for swords. Jeez. You two are like a newbie gift package. So I’m sorry, and thank you for the treats." freēwebnovel.com

Before the men could even move a muscle, they felt something slimy and gross wrap around them. Their senses dulled instantly, and a warmth spread through their bodies that they absolutely did not ask for.

And when they finally snapped out of it, they were sitting on the ground, backs against the alley wall. They blinked slowly, blood dripping down from their mouths.

The man crouched in front of them with a bored look and grabbed both their swords, inspecting them with mild interest.

"I don’t think I’ve ever held a sword before. This is actually badass. Will test them later though. Don’t want Lizbeth to get too suspicious."

He smiled. In the next instant, a pitch black tentacle appeared out of thin air. Two Siren hearts were glued to it.

...Their hearts.

Before either of the old men could say a word, that tentacle began glowing crimson.

And just like that, it was the last sight they saw before their deaths.

"Hmm..." Nacho hummed in amusement and made sure no blood was left anywhere, cleaning it up with Water Manipulation.

When he was done, he reflected on what he just did.

I wanted to test just how little humanity I actually have left, but it turns out I still have a little left. Killing is still disgusting. I’d much rather disintegrate them with Storm Manipulation or something. No more up close and personal fighting.

He nodded to himself.

Definitely won’t make this a habit either. It’ll be bad for business if customers kept disappearing around Lizbeth’s inn.

So after sorting everything out, he went back to the inn. Right on cue, she placed some dishes on the counter. She wanted to take them to the customers, but Nacho arrived first, took the plates with a smile, and carried them to the few customers.

This gives me deja vu. I remember I used to be a waiter for a few months during high school, Nacho reminisced and for the next couple of hours, focused on being a waiter.

The job was easy, since there were four customers per hour at most. So by the time the evening came, the inn was already closed.

"Phew. I didn’t know having someone take the food relieves that much stress. I wish I had more money for this kind of stuff," Lizbeth said, leaning back against the counter.

Nacho raised a brow. "Well, starting tomorrow, you’ll have to work even harder. I’ll help with the waiter stuff when I’m not doing any massaging."

Speaking of massaging, Lizbeth remembered he had asked her if she wanted it.

"I’m sore all over. Sir Nacho, is the offer still valid?"

"First of all, don’t call me sir. It sounds like I’m your boss or something. Just Nacho is fine," he replied, wagging his finger.

"As for the offer, yep. Though, do you mind if we do it in your room? I don’t have any equipment there. Unless you don’t mind laying on a wooden tabletop?"

She paused. "No. That won’t do at all... My room is just upstairs, so follow me."

With that, she turned around and led him up the stairs. They were creaky and some steps were even broken.

Regardless, the two made their way upstairs and entered her room.

"Oh?"

It’s surprisingly girly.

There were tens of plushies, as well as a cooking book that she seems to be writing herself. A guitar to the side, and even a dress for what looked like special occasions.

"Sorry, I forgot to cleanup. Don’t mind the mess," Lizbeth said and sat on her bed, staring back at Nacho. "Um... So what now?"

He gave the room another quick glance, then pointed at her bed.

"Lay down on your stomach, and take a few deep breaths to relax."

"O-On my stomach?" Lizbeth stuttered.

Nacho raised a brow. "Were you expecting a foot massage? I don’t mind, but I’d rather give you a full body massage instead."

Her cheeks turned red as she closed her pale blue eyes, laying on her stomach. She slowly brought her legs together and extended her feet forward, her flawless heels showing.

Only now did he realize how perfect her body was. To think that he was going to take advantage of someone who looked like a literal world class model... Heh.

"Where does it hurt most?" he asked, approaching her.

"My shoulders," she said quietly. "My lower back. My feet too."

"Is that so? Well, take some deep breaths and try to relax a little more. I’m about to start."

She nodded into the pillow, and finally, Nacho summoned his invisible tentacle, allowing it to hover just a few inches above her skin.

As for him, he smiled and placed both of his hands gently over her shoulders, trying his best to recreate the techniques he remembered seeing online.

But even after a few moments of him playing around, she was still tense.

I really need to do this on a masseuse so I get their Talent. Until then, I’ll just improvise. freёweɓnovel.com

Nacho turned to his tentacle, and it finally lowered.
