Chapter 3: Beginning [ 3 ]

(4 days later...)

Turns out, eating other fish as a fellow fish wasn’t shabby at all. But that was only because he could eat through his tentacle, as weird as it sounded. All he needed to do was touch the fish, think of eating, and boom, he wasn’t hungry anymore.

All the ridiculous stuff aside, he realized that was fewer and fewer fish now. That might be because he was pretty deep down now. Ah, also, there was a weird looking yellow mist gate in front of him, which he planned on checking out next.

From the unique fish that he killed, he got some neat little Talents.

[Innate Talents Gained: Spine Coat (Common), Regeneration (Common), Static Charge (Common), Shell Hardening (Common).]

Out of the bunch, Regeneration and Static Charge were passively on at all times. Regeneration increased his HP regeneration from 1/s to 5/s. Meanwhile, Static Charge added a nice little lightning spark to his tentacles if he moved them really, really fast.

As for the other two, they worked at the same time, reinforcing his body whenever he got attacked.

In that regard, alongside Static Charge, came a new form.

[Current Form: Electric Eel (Common)]

It allowed him to move so much faster, and the Static Charge’s effect was so much stronger now. But then again, he’d been fighting normal sea animals with magic and other stuff.

It was like bringing an RPG to a kindergarten sand-box.

Let me see, I know I gained a bunch of stats, increased the level of my tentacles, and even leveled up myself. Let me do a quick check before going through that odd gate.

[+11 Strength]

[+14 Stamina]

[+18 Agility]

[+8 Perception]

[+133 Mana]

[Ding!]

[You’ve gotten your (3rd) First Tentacle upgrade!]

[Next Damage and Length upgrade in: Now!]

Damage: 8 → 15

Length: 2 Meters → 4 Meters

[You’ve gotten your (4th) First Tentacle upgrade!]

[Next Damage and Length upgrade in: Now!]

Damage: 15 → 28

Length: 4 Meters → 6 Meters

[Next Damage and Length upgrade in: 1,428 Kills.]

I can’t wait to try these new stats out on a normal mob, not these common fish. Nacho swam around in place for a moment. It looks like the level is kind of for show too. Doesn’t give me any extra stats aside from contributing to the evolution. Not like I mind though. This is funner.

Level 4 : 329 / 400 Experience

Nacho was done reviewing everything and with his MP now at 1,870, he could spam his Talents however he wanted. So finally, he made his way toward the yellow mist wall, and then stepped through it.

He wasn’t expecting to see much, maybe a new area. Except, a pop-up quickly shut down everything.

[You’ve entered the Boss Room: Coral Field]

[Boss Monster: Mega Shark (Uncommon) | Level 10]

Ack...

A fucking Mega Shark? If it was so mega, where was it then? Nacho quickly glanced around. Just then, he felt a vibration in the water and instinctively moved, narrowly avoiding the jaws.

This green shark was at least the size of a mini cooper. Its teeth were jagged and a little rotten. In short, it was disgusting. Could this be karma for asking for something stronger?

Either way, Nacho was by no means underprepared. He moved rapidly, dodging the shark and also using his First Tentacle. It wasn’t as fast as the shark, but since the shark was pretty damn stupid, he managed to predict its movements and grab it by the tail.

Since his tentacle was so long, he managed to even wrap it around a bit of its body, giving the Mega Shark a nice massage. freewebnσvel.cѳm

Though...

Uhh... I meant to crush it, but it seems to be enjoying this massage?

Before long, he spotted the shark’s thrashing slow to a complete stop. Its beady little eyes had turned a little glassy.

Just then, he recalled one special effect he had. The x10 Charm effect from his First Tentacle...

So it works on sharks too. It said the effect is reduced, though?

With only 10 total Charm, he wasn’t expecting much to begin with. Heck, he didn’t even know he could do this. But now, the shark was totally at his mercy.

It’s just trembling now. Did I fry its brain or something? Well, when life gives you lemons...

He went ahead and stuck his tentacle into the shark’s open mouth, and then used Static Charge to fry it from the inside, killing it instantly.

And just like that, he returned to holding the dead shark, prepared to absorb it and take its form. But before then, there was plenty of loot to sort through.

[You’ve slain: [x1] Mega Shark (Uncommon) | Level 10. You’ve gained: +250 Experience]

[Lewd Act Performed: Tentacle Massage]

[Talent Stolen from Mega Shark: Predator’s Instinct (Uncommon)]

His senses felt sharper. Uncomfortably so, actually.

It’s almost like my perception doubled. I think I can also pick up on any threats now. This is really good. Nacho smiled.

But now, it was time for the main course.

[Current Form: Electric Eel (Common)]

[Absorption Mega Shark (Uncommon)]

[Warning: Absorbing this creature will unlock the Mega Shark (Uncommon) form and permanently grant one of its innate Talents.]

[Would you like to proceed?]

He immediately went with it. To his surprise, a jolt of pain went through his body as he quickly switched forms, becoming larger and larger. Finally, he had become the shark, and all of his senses, compared to before, were just that much better.

Not to mention, the Talent he got was even better.

[Innate Talent Gained: Hydro Burst (Uncommon)]

[Ding!]

[Perfect synergy detected!]

[Hydro Burst (Uncommon) + Current Manipulation (Uncommon)]

[Advanced Talent is being generated...]

[New Talent: Water Manipulation (Rare)]

Ha... Hahaha.

The amount of knowledge that just flooded his mind was insane. Water Manipulation was an extremely Powerful Talent. He could control water everywhere. He could even summon it from thin air.

Just then, that weird glowing gate from before appeared. Except the color this time around was green. He took it as a good sign, and without waiting much longer, he went ahead and made his way through the gate.

Though...

[Ding!]

[You’ve cleared the dungeon: Mega Shark Lair (Level 15)]

[You’ve obtained a reward: +5 Free Stat Points.]

[Where would you like to allocate the Free Stat Points?]
