Chapter 111: I feel weird.
Mia’s body glistened with sweat as she sat under the mixed colored lights with her chest heaving up and down and her lips slightly puffy from the kiss earlier.
She would have looked quite enticing to Leo if his mind wasn’t messed up at the moment. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"What is wrong?" Mia asked after his humourless laugh.
He had asked whether it was a warm up before her main dance and when she informed him that it was a part of the dance, his mood suddenly changed.
Did she say or do something wrong?
"Wait a minute Mia Lucas." He said before standing up from the floor.
"You mean you are going to be doing this dance with a boy?" He asked emphasizing on the word ’boy’.
"That’s what I said." She repeated with a nod before standing up from the floor also.
"No!"
"No what?" She asked in confusion.
"You can’t dance this." He said shaking his head in disbelief as he walked into the kitchen to get a can of beer.
His hormones had finally relaxed from all the body rubbing earlier. Of course it would after hearing something like that.
Mia thought about following him inside the kitchen or not but when she saw Tara looking at her from the chair, she quickly made up her mind and hurried towards the kitchen.
"Why can’t I?" She asked when she got there and saw him gulping down beer.
"It’s a school talent hunt and not some dance competition in a dance club." He said trying not to sound pissed.
"Who is your director? I need to have a word with him." He said before searching for his phone inside his pockets but remembered he left it in the sitting room.
"It’s not for the talent hunt in school." She quickly corrected. She remembered she hadn’t bothered to clarify when he asked earlier about what she was rehearsing for.
"It’s another dancing competition outside of school. I have a team and this is what we have to dance."
"Mia this is wrong!"
"What is so wrong about it? I know it has to do with a whole lot of body rubbing but that’s dance for you!" She shot back trying not to sound angry.
"Wait... you are getting angry at me right now?" He asked in surprise as he put down the empty can of beer on the table and reached for another inside the fridge.
"Yes! I am mad at you. You think I’m some kind of loose girl because I would be dancing like this? Do you know—"
"Jesus Mia! How can you even think that? I don’t think of you that way at all." He quickly corrected and sighed deeply.
"Then why are you being so judgemental about me dancing this way?"
"It’s..." He blinked a couple of times and frowned when he couldn’t think of anything to say.
Why didn’t he want her to do the dance? It was simple! He didn’t want her touching other men like that neither did he want them to touch her but he didn’t know how else to say it. He wasn’t dating her and wasn’t sure he wanted to date her so what right did he have to tell her what to do and not do?
"What? You can’t think of something?" She asked and took the can from him before gulping down a half of it.
"I don’t want you to dance with another man!" He screamed inside his head but when he saw the look of surprise and confusion on Mia’s face, his eyes widened in shock when he realised he had said it out and not inside his head.
What happened? Wasn’t he just saying that inside his head?
He quickly reached for the can of beer in her hand and gulped down the rest of the contents as he silently prayed for her not to ask him any questions concerning that.
"Why don’t you want me to dance with another man?" She asked in a quiet voice this time as she looked at his face with interest.
"...." He said nothing.
"You think I’m too young to dance with men but can dance with you?" She asked drunkenly.
Leo looked at her in surprise not knowing whether to laugh or to cry. He didn’t know whether he was happy that she hadn’t caught on what he had said or he should be mad at her for being totally naive.
"What’s funny?" She asked with a frown when she saw the amusement in his face.
"Sit down Mia. You are drunk." He said and began to lead her towards the chair in the kitchen.
"I am not drunk. I am totally fine. You are the drunk one who is saying things that doesn’t make sense. Firstly, you said I shouldn’t dance, then you said I shouldn’t dance with men then you—"
She rambled on and on and on and when he was tired of her talking, he covered her mouth with his.
His eyes was open so he saw how wide her eyes were as she stared at his eyes in surprise.
She saw the amused glint in his eyes before he slowly pulled away.
"Less talking now Mia Lucas." He said before going to sit down opposite her.
"Now as I was saying..." He paused to look at her. She just kept staring at him with wide eyes like it was their first kiss ever. He could not just understand her one bit.
Her face was flushed red and he couldn’t tell if it was because of the kiss or the beer.
"I don’t want you dancing with another man. Not because I think you are too young to dance with men or because I think it makes you.. you know.. loose. I don’t think of you that way. Don’t just do the dance okay? It’s going to make me uncomfortable."
"And you too. It’s also going to make you uncomfortable also." He quickly added while she just continued to stare at him with her lips slightly parted.
"Are you okay?" He asked in worry when he noticed she was still just sitting there unblinkingly.
"I feel..." She blinked her eyes for the first time since the kiss and looked at him. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"I feel weird." She said.
"Weird? What do you mean?" He asked with a confused look on his face before standing up to go over to her side.
"Are you sick?" He asked placing a hand on her forehead to check her temperature.
She shook her head slowly before standing up.
"Okay... you are acting really weird right now." He said as he took a step backwards to give her enough space to stand firm.
"Yes." She nodded in agreement. "I just told you I feel weird."
Leo looked at her in confusion. She was acting like a robot who was being controlled.
"I think you should return to the—"
The remaining words didn’t come out because she quickly wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him down for a kiss. It was his turn to stare at her in shock.
"Mia Lucas. I think this drink is really getting to you. You have to slow down." He said when he managed to break free from the kiss while doing his best not to continue from where she stopped.
"I don’t want to." She shook her head.
"Trust me. That’s the drink speaking." He said slowly, trying to convince her.
"I’m not totally drunk." She said stubbornly before bursting into tears.
He looked at her in surprise. Now why was she crying? Drunk women! Drunk women!! They always gave him a headache.
She sat back down on the chair and buried her head on the table as she continued sobbing.
Was she by chance embarrassed because he turned her down? He wondered as he began to pat her back.
"I’m sorry. I just don’t want you to do something you may end up regretting later." He explained.
"It’s not fair." She said between sobs.
"I’m sorry I know—"
She suddenly sat up and pointed an accusing finger at him.
"It’s really not fair. Why do you get to drink a lot and not get drunk yet I get drunk with just one gulp. Why is God so unfair?"
She buried her head back on the table and continued to sob.
"Wait a minute! That’s what you are seriously worried about?" He asked with a disbelieving frown.
"Of course. Because I’m drunk I am trying to take advantage of you. What if you charge me for rape and I go to jail?" She burst into tears again and raised her teary eyes to look at him.
"Please do not charge me for rape. I don’t want to be an ex-convict."
"Oh God!" Leo cried as he fell back on the chair.
He really shouldn’t have let her drink. Now what was all this?
"I won’t charge you for rape okay? So let’s get you to bed." He said and began to help her up.
Mia took the opportunity to wrap her hands around his neck and refused to let go. He didn’t complain and scooped her in his arms as he began to head towards her room but she poked his arm with her finger to get his attention.
"What is it?" He asked her curiously as he stopped walking to look at her.
"I don’t want to sleep in there." She said pointing at her room.
"Then where do you want to sleep?" He asked with a slight frown.
"There!" She said pointing at the door in the other end of the sitting room.
"My room?" He asked in surprise and she nodded happily.
"You always sleep inside my room. Let’s sleep in yours tonight." She said before flashing him a weak smile.
