Chapter 2020: Chapter 2016: Evenly Matched
After exchanging blows again, Chu Zhaoliang no longer recklessly clashed head-on with Tang Ming. Instead, he relied on his formidable cultivation and combat experience to engage with Tang Ming, creating a situation where they were evenly matched.
After several rounds, Chu Zhaoliang almost spat blood in frustration. With his cultivation and combat experience, he was confident that even if Tang Ming unleashed his martial arts alone, he wouldn’t be his match!
But now Tang Ming had integrated the Thousand Evil Poison Technique and the Huaxia Secret Technique, occasionally using the Heavenly Mechanism Hundred Changes. These three sets of martial arts mixed together left Chu Zhaoliang bewildered.
After all, acquiring just one of these extraordinary skills was already an immense opportunity for most people. No one had ever managed to master two, yet now Tang Ming practiced all three, and his combat style was beyond Chu Zhaoliang’s understanding.
"Good kid, I consider myself well-versed and experienced, but today you’ve really opened my eyes."
Chu Zhaoliang exclaimed as he exchanged blows with Tang Ming.
"You’re indeed a strong fighter. Even against an average Three-star Martial General, I should have defeated them by now. Yet, you leverage your experience and cultivation, and I haven’t gained an inch. Impressive."
Tang Ming didn’t hold back his praise. It was the first time he unleashed his full strength in battle, and encountering such an evenly matched opponent made it all the more worthwhile, even if he were to die in combat.
"Alright then, let’s battle to our hearts’ content today. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this excited."
Chu Zhaoliang laughed heartily, and the Vigorous Air Armor on his body blazed like fire.
Tang Ming wasn’t about to be outdone, with a layer of black mist rising around his Vigorous Air Armor. It was the deadly poison from the Thousand Evil Poison Technique, ready to either cut down or poison Chu Zhaoliang should he make the slightest misstep.
Tang Ming and Chu Zhaoliang were evenly matched in their battle, and their combat power was truly terrifying. In just a matter of minutes, the entire Martial Arts Square was left in shambles.
Wu Tian and Mo Wenming hid in the barrier of the Shield Formation with Yan Nantian. With their cultivation, defending against the waves of energy from outside would have nearly cost them their lives.
"So strong! This is the power of the Huaxia Secret Technique and the Thousand Evil Poison Technique. It’s immensely powerful."
Mo Wenming looked excitedly at the two fighters engaged in battle.
"Between Martial Generals, each level holds a significant gap. Yet, Tang Ming, who recently broke through to a Two-star Martial General, can match Director Chu, a formidable fighter who reached the peak of the Three-star Martial General years ago. It’s simply..."
Wu Tian was equally astonished.
"Judging by this situation, it seems a short conclusion isn’t likely. Tang Ming might actually be able to beat you."
Yan Nantian sat on the ground, worriedly biting his lip.
Upon hearing this, Mo Wenming and Wu Tian’s expressions turned grim. If Chu Zhaoliang were actually defeated by Tang Ming, who among them could be Tang Ming’s match?
"Not good! Someone’s infiltrating the base."
At this moment, Yan Nantian’s face suddenly changed dramatically: "Reports from below say a large group of unknown experts is infiltrating the base, heading this way."
"Damn it! It’s either Tang Ming’s reinforcements or those Jianghu people looking to capture him."
Wu Tian’s expression turned sour: "We must quickly strategize and conclude this fight; otherwise, if they break through, things will really become chaotic."
"Yan Nantian, immediately organize personnel from the Dragon Group and Ming Group to intercept and eliminate the intruders at all costs, preventing them from approaching."
Mo Wenming issued commands without room for objection.
"Okay!"
Yan Nantian quickly utilized the equipment to issue orders.
"We must end this battle immediately."
Mo Wenming’s eyes flashed with cold light as he focused on Tang Ming and Chu Zhaoliang in the arena.
"Haha, Director Chu, even though you’re a Three-star Martial General, it seems my internal energy isn’t much less than yours. Plus, with all my ultimate skills, if this drags on, you’ll be the one to lose."
As Tang Ming launched an attack on Chu Zhaoliang, he laughed loudly.
"There’s truth to the saying ’A young fighter is not to be trifled with.’
Chu Zhaoliang panted as he lightly chuckled. It wasn’t apparent from his appearance that he was only middle-aged, but he was actually seventy!
For years, he’d enjoyed a comfortable life stationed at the Imperial University, rarely engaging in combat. Now, faced with such an anomaly as Tang Ming, he was struggling to keep up.
"Director Chu, you see that in this battle, I’m the certain victor. So why not just yield and let me take Liu Mengting away?"
Tang Ming proposed loudly.
"This isn’t a Jianghu duel; it’s a Dragon Group conflict. Even if I die in battle, I’ll do my utmost to deplete your strength. After that, it’s up to others. If they can’t hold you here either, then it’s merely destined fate."
Chu Zhaoliang was resolute, showing no intention of retreating.
"Tang Ming..."
At this moment, Wu Tian’s voice suddenly rang out.
"Hmm?"
Tang Ming turned his head to glance and his face instantly changed: "Wu Tian, what are you doing?"
Wu Tian was seen pulling Liu Mengting’s arm, looking back at him with a cold smile, and Tang Ming sensed something was amiss.
Liu Mengting looked panic-stricken and at a loss. Seeing Tang Ming fighting so desperately for her had given her hope for a turning point, but it seemed things weren’t that simple.
"Tang Ming, take a good look."
Wu Tian smiled, seizing Liu Mengting’s right arm before brutally punching it.
"Crack!"
The sound of bones breaking echoed across the scene.
"Bastard, you..."
Seeing Wu Tian actually harm Liu Mengting, Tang Ming was left in disarray. Before he could finish speaking, a sharp pain shot through his chest.
Taking advantage of Tang Ming’s distraction, Chu Zhaoliang moved in and struck Tang Ming’s chest with a vicious punch, sending him flying.
"Tang Ming!"
With sweat on her brow, Liu Mengting cried out, trying to stifle her scream as her arm was broken to avoid distracting Tang Ming, only to end up burdening him.
"Ugh!"
Tang Ming hit the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood, cursing at the top of his lungs: "Wu Tian, you’re despicable! I curse you and your ancestors."
"Hahaha, if you don’t want Liu Mengting to suffer, surrender obediently, or I’ll make her life a living hell."
Wu Tian looked at Tang Ming with a cold smile, grabbing Liu Mengting’s other arm.
"Despicable! So many of you ganged up against Tang Ming, and you’re even using me to threaten him."
Liu Mengting gritted her teeth, glaring at Wu Tian with deep hatred.
"There’s no choice; Tang Ming cares about you too much. Without you, why would he walk into the trap himself?"
Wu Tian sneered, feeling no remorse for his actions.
"Shameless scoundrel, don’t you dare touch her."
Tang Ming yelled out anxiously as he rushed toward Liu Mengting.
"Tang, I’m your opponent."
Chu Zhaoliang stood in Tang Ming’s way, his eyebrows knit with disapproval: "Though the methods are less than honorably fair, it’s the only way. You’d better surrender."
"Get the hell out, move aside!"
Tang Ming cursed fiercely, thrusting his hands forward. A barrage of destructive black Sword Qi shot towards Chu Zhaoliang like raindrops.
