Chapter 962: Wasn’t Even Full Power

The allied forces celebrated their victory, except for the vampires, who remained inside their tents to stay safe from the sunlight.

However, King Evander himself wasn’t completely affected by the sun, though he could clearly feel his strength weakening under its rays. Even he wasn’t entirely immune to sunlight.

"Your Majesty, the war has finally ended. How should we proceed from here?" King Evander asked Emperor Rhex.

King Vargan and Queen Lilith were also interested in hearing Emperor Rhex’s plans for the future, immediately raising their brows as they waited for his response.

Emperor Rhex pondered silently for a few moments before finally speaking.

"I believe we should form a permanent alliance. It would benefit everyone—especially the ordinary citizens of each nation."

"If we continue criticizing one another and fighting endlessly, the only people who will truly suffer are our citizens. Countless innocent lives would be lost meaninglessly, and I’m certain none of us wishes for that." Emperor Rhex calmly expressed his thoughts regardless of how the others might react.

"I completely agree with His Majesty’s words," Queen Lilith replied with a gentle smile before continuing, "War only brings suffering and chaos, while an alliance would bring prosperity and countless benefits to every nation."

"I suppose you’re right," King Vargan nodded reluctantly after remaining silent for a moment.

"Since we all agree on the alliance, we should focus on the fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the people. That is the most important matter right now," King Evander spoke in a calm yet heavy voice.

The leaders of each nation immediately fell silent after hearing his words.

They needed to figure out how to return all the bodies of the fallen soldiers back to their respective nations as quickly as possible.

Transporting such a large number of corpses would not be an easy task at all. It would require tremendous manpower and careful organization.

Furthermore, many soldiers were still critically injured and receiving treatment inside the medical tents.

The discussion regarding transportation continued as each leader shared their own ideas and suggestions.

Meanwhile, Yuan and the others observed the countless dead bodies scattered around the campsite. Strangely, none of them appeared particularly shaken by the sight, perhaps because their own hands had long since been stained with blood.

"So many people have died... So many families have lost someone precious to them..." Nerith muttered softly while clenching her fists tightly as she looked at the covered corpses.

"In war, people will always die. No matter what you do, you can’t completely prevent it. Of course, if you possess absolute strength, then things become different," Valeria replied firmly, her tone neither arrogant nor comforting.

Then, after glancing toward Nerith, she continued, "I’ve fought in countless wars before. I’m speaking from experience... War is never truly good for a kingdom or an empire."

Yuan observed Nerith and Isolde quietly for a few moments before suddenly pulling out two spatial rings from his System Storage.

"Here, this is something every cultivator should possess. I didn’t have the opportunity to give them to you earlier, but I remembered just now," Yuan said as two rings suddenly appeared in the palm of his hand.

"What are these rings for?" Isolde asked curiously as she sensed that the rings were far from ordinary.

Nerith picked up one of the rings and slid it onto her finger before speaking.

"It actually looks pretty nice on my finger."

"These aren’t ordinary rings. They’re magical artifacts capable of storing objects inside them. You can use them by injecting your Spiritual Energy into the ring," Yuan immediately explained their purpose.

"I’ll demonstrate it for you," Leah stepped forward before showing Nerith and Isolde how to properly use the spatial rings while carefully explaining the process.

Nerith and Isolde immediately became excited after witnessing the demonstration and quickly attempted to use the rings themselves.

Surprisingly, it worked perfectly on their very first try.

Nyx and Selvariel looked at the rings on Nerith and Isolde’s fingers with visible excitement, clearly eager to try them as well.

Yuan noticed their expressions and suddenly remembered that he still hadn’t given them their own spatial rings. Without wasting any time, he immediately retrieved two more rings from his system storage.

"Here are your rings, Selvariel and Mother-in-law Nyx..." Yuan said with a slightly embarrassed smile as he offered the rings to them.

Both Nyx and Selvariel accepted the rings without hesitation and immediately wore them on their fingers almost as though they were precious wedding rings.

"Thanks, Yuan..." They responded shyly before quickly beginning to examine the functions of the rings with curious expressions.

Yuan couldn’t help but smile warmly seeing how excited they were over such a simple gift, while Anna Grace and the others chuckled softly at the adorable scene.

At that moment, Nerith suddenly approached Yuan and spoke.

"Yuan, Isolde and I are going to talk with my idiot brother and the others regarding our departure. You all can do whatever you want in the meantime."

"Alright. You two can go, and inform us if anything happens." Yuan nodded with a smile.

Nerith and Isolde nodded before leaving the group together.

Once they were gone, Yuan turned toward his wives and said, "If I remember correctly, there’s a small river not far from here. Let’s go clean ourselves there. It’s becoming uncomfortable being covered in blood and smelling like this."

"Now that you mention it... the smell really is unbearable." Anna Grace wrinkled her nose slightly as she looked at the blood staining her clothes from earlier when she hugged Yuan.

Shortly afterward, they flew into the sky and vanished from sight as they traveled at incredible speed through the air.

Meanwhile, Emperor Rhex and the other important figures had gathered inside a large tent to discuss the transportation of the fallen soldiers’ bodies.

They sat around a round table, and the atmosphere inside the tent felt unusually heavy as thoughts of the war still lingered in their minds.

"So many people have died... and even more would have perished if Yuan and his group hadn’t arrived in time and taken control of the situation." King Evander spoke with a deep sigh.

"Indeed," King Vargan nodded with a solemn expression before continuing, "We didn’t even stand a chance against such a force, especially those Death Worms. Those creatures could swallow an entire village overnight so silently that no one would realize it until it was too late."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"Even if we fought them with everything we had, we probably wouldn’t have been able to kill even one considering their enormous bodies and incredibly tough outer shells."

"And not to mention Yuan’s unimaginable strength... not only his, but the strength of his entire group as well. Just how did they obtain power that completely defies logic?"

"I have no interest in learning the secret behind their strength." Emperor Rhex spoke calmly, his voice steady and measured.

However, despite saying that, a trace of curiosity still lingered deep within his eyes.

"I share the same opinion as His Majesty," King Evander added while nodding.

"And from what I know... that still wasn’t even the full extent of their power."

"What they showed us today was merely a fragment of their true strength. I honestly can’t even imagine what the battlefield would have looked like if they had fought seriously from the very beginning."

The moment those words left his mouth, Emperor Rhex, Queen Lilith, and King Vargan all looked toward him in shock.

That terrifying display from earlier still wasn’t their full power?

How could something like that even be possible?

Seeing their stunned expressions, King Evander slowly explained further.

"The woman with the dark ruby-like horns..." his expression became unusually serious.

"She’s actually a true Dragon. Not a demi-human like we initially assumed."

"And the most terrifying part is that she isn’t the kind of Dragon we know from legends or history... she’s something entirely different."

King Evander let out a deep sigh as old memories resurfaced in his mind.

"I only discovered the truth because of a mistake I made... one that nearly cost me my life."

The entire atmosphere inside the tent became heavy with tension the moment King Evander revealed this truth.

Shock was clearly visible on everyone’s faces.

However, despite noticing their stunned expressions, King Evander continued calmly.

"Furthermore, the woman with fiery crimson hair... she isn’t human either. She calls herself a Phoenix, a creature we only know through legends and ancient mythology."

"And above even that, the woman named Long Yuyan..." his eyes narrowed slightly.

"She is also a Dragon." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

A deep sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back against his chair.

"And from what I’ve learned, she is likely the most powerful among them."

"I have lived for many years, yet I have never encountered such absurd and mysterious individuals before meeting Yuan and his group."

The silence inside the tent deepened further after hearing those words.

Queen Lilith’s expression subtly changed, and a faint trace of excitement could even be seen in her beautiful eyes.

’To think he is surrounded by so many extraordinary women... no wonder he didn’t spare me even a single glance...’ she thought inwardly.

However, instead of discouraging her, it only strengthened her determination even more.

Finding a man as exceptional as Yuan was nearly impossible.

Not only was he overwhelmingly powerful, but he also possessed unmatched talent, appearance, confidence, and calmness.

To Queen Lilith, such a man was simply irresistible.

’I’ll definitely pursue him once this meeting ends...’ she thought while a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

’I absolutely cannot let such a fine young man leave this continent without at least having a taste of him... hehe...’

The subtle change in her expression did not go unnoticed by the others sitting around the table.

"Are you feeling alright, Queen Lilith?" King Vargan asked with a puzzled expression.

"My well-being has nothing to do with you, thank you very much." Queen Lilith snorted coldly without even sparing him a glance.

King Vargan could only awkwardly clear his throat before remaining silent.

At that moment, the entrance of the tent suddenly opened, and Nerith along with Isolde stepped inside.

Their arrival immediately drew everyone’s attention.

"Have you already discussed the method of transportation?" Nerith asked straightforwardly as she approached the table.

"Yes. We’ve already discussed it." Emperor Rhex replied calmly.

"However, it won’t be an easy task. We have countless casualties, and many soldiers are still severely injured as well."

"I see..." Nerith nodded thoughtfully before speaking again.

"How about leaving the transportation matter to Isolde and me?"

"We have a method that doesn’t require manpower at all."

"And honestly... it’s incredibly convenient."

The moment she said that, the others inside the tent immediately looked at her curiously.

Emperor Rhex pondered for a brief moment before finally nodding his head.

"If you truly possess such a method, then we naturally have no objections."

"In fact, that would help us tremendously."
