Chapter 450: Chapter 279: Sword Array
Yang Jing tunneled to a point midway between the lands of the Wu and Zhang families, then suddenly dispersed his Tunneling Light.
With a casual wave of his hand, he summoned the Wanhua Child along with all the Ox Power Demons and Black Wind Thieves from the Yin Qi World.
"Wanhua, go and take down all the members of the Zhang Family. Frame the Black Wind Thieves for it, and leave no loose ends."
The Wanhua Child, commanding the Demon-Catching Tripod, packed all the Ox Power Demons and Black Wind Thieves into its Pot World.
"Master, would it matter if a few people from the Zhang Family die?"
He stood on the rim of the tripod with his arms spread wide. Inside the Pot World, Chi Yu had given him a full account of the encounter at the Zhang Family’s lands.
’Although it seemed like Master was baiting them, for the Zhang Family to have been so disrespectful... they were courting death.’
"It’s of no concern,"
Yang Jing said, shaking his head.
He reached out and unhooked the Five Fire Gourd from his waist.
"The Bishui Zhang Family’s Array is a bit tricky, so let the Five Fire Child lend you a hand."
The Zhang Family was, after all, a great clan with a long heritage. Although they had long since declined, even a wrecked ship has a few good nails. The Array guarding their family lands was even superior to the Lu Family’s.
Among all the Magical Treasures in Yang Jing’s possession, the Five Fire Gourd had the greatest Power of Attack, surpassing even the Celestial Waterfall Sword.
The Five Fire Child materialized from the gourd and bowed deeply to Yang Jing.
Seeing this display, the Wanhua Child inwardly curled his lip.
Though he was secretly at odds with the Five Fire Child, he wouldn’t dare sabotage Yang Jing’s important task.
Yang Jing formed a Spell, and a streak of Sword Light fell from the sky like a great meteor, stopping instantly before him.
This was none other than the Celestial Waterfall Sword, which Yang Jing had left high in the sky to absorb the Celestial Spirits Star Force.
Although Yang Jing was fully confident in defeating Wu Jingyuan, he wasn’t so arrogant as to face him in Magical Combat empty-handed, without a single Magical Treasure.
He nodded to the Wanhua Child and the Five Fire Child, then his body merged with the Celestial Waterfall Sword. Transforming into an inconspicuous streak of Cloud Escape Sword Light, he flew straight toward the Wu Family’s lands.
As a True Disciple of the Six Sects, one could not, in fact, interfere in the affairs of a Fiefdom without official duties.
But now, he held ironclad proof that the Wu Family and the Black Wind Thieves were two sides of the same coin. Attacking the Wu Family was therefore perfectly justified and left no room for criticism.
The Defensive Array guarding the Wu Family’s lands was the crudest of the three clans. Although it was a Tier Three Array, it covered the smallest area. Furthermore, to Yang Jing’s skilled eye in the Array Dao, it had several major flaws.
For an Immortally Cultivation Clan, the Array Dao and the Alchemy Dao were the two most important legacies.
Because they had risen to prominence too quickly, the Wu Family hadn’t had time to cultivate a suitable Array Master. Since the Array to protect their lands couldn’t be entrusted to an outsider, it had been set up rather crudely.
An Array like this was no obstacle for Yang Jing. He activated his Five Elements Escape Technique and slipped right through the Grand Array.
The moment he entered the Wu Family’s lands, Yang Jing felt an incredibly dense Spiritual Qi.
The Spiritual Qi on the Wu Family’s lands was comparable to that of a major Tier Four Spirit Vein.
This was something that couldn’t be hidden from outsiders. The Wu Family claimed the Spirit Vein on their land had advanced on its own, becoming a Tier Four Spirit Vein.
This caused the uninformed to marvel with jealousy and envy, claiming the Wu Family’s fated time had come and that they were destined to replace the Lu Family.
Yang Jing activated his Grotto Dark Dharma Eye. After Refining a considerable number of Yin Evil Spider Demons, his Eye Power had increased dramatically. He could now see the nodes in the Wu Family’s Spirit Vein from which Spiritual Qi was surging.
’Those must be the Spiritual Eye Objects that the Black Wind Dao has acquired through years of plunder.’
Yang Jing used Earth Escape, hiding beneath the soil and tunneling along the path of the Spirit Vein.
Given Wu Jingyuan’s status in the Wu Family, his Cave Mansion was bound to be located in the area with the richest Spiritual Qi, making it quite easy to find.
Because of their dealings as the Black Wind Thieves, the Wu Family had placed numerous Restrictions throughout their lands to guard against intruders. But to Yang Jing, these were all amateurish trifles.
He bypassed these warning Restrictions with ease and arrived before Wu Jingyuan’s Cave Mansion.
Wu Jingyuan’s Cave Mansion was the most heavily defended location on the entire estate; it was even protected by its own separate, small-scale Tier Three Array.
Since this wasn’t the outer Array, its construction wasn’t as sensitive a matter as the one guarding the entire clan’s lands. Therefore, the Wu Family had been able to hire an Array Master to perform the Array Formation.
Although his Five Elements Escape Technique could penetrate Arrays without a sound, the one before him was clearly beyond his limits.
Still, managing to sneak this far without being detected had gone much more smoothly than Yang Jing had anticipated.
He simply revealed himself, hovering in midair upon the Celestial Waterfall Sword.
"Who are you? How dare you fly in the air above the Old Ancestor’s Cave Mansion!"
Two Child attendants were perpetually on duty outside Wu Jingyuan’s Cave Mansion. The moment they saw Yang Jing, they shouted the question at him.
Yang Jing glanced down at them. With a surge of his Magical Power, the aura around the Celestial Waterfall Sword erupted. Sharp Sword Qi soared to the heavens, lancing straight toward the Wu Family’s grand Defensive Array.
The Celestial Waterfall Sword flickered, instantly splitting into four blades that surrounded Wu Jingyuan’s Cave Mansion.
"Sword Light Division!"
The two gate-watching Child attendants had served Wu Jingyuan for years. Through constant exposure, they were not ignorant, and they recognized the legendary Sword Light Division technique at a glance.
’Such a high Realm of Swordsmanship... This is no ordinary person. It might even be a Sword Cultivator at the Nascent Soul Realm!’
The two were so scared they practically pissed themselves, scrambling and crawling out of the Sword Array’s area of effect.
"Who is it!"
From within the Cave Mansion, Wu Jingyuan let out a great bellow, a sound mixed with shock and fury.
The next moment, the Sword Array activated completely.
From the four divided Flying Swords, thousands of sharp streaks of Sword Light shot forth like a school of fish.
The Sword Lights layered one upon another like fine threads, weaving a dense Sword Curtain that enveloped the Cave Mansion.
These Sword Lights belonged to the four primary phases. As the Sword Array rotated, it faintly manifested the principles of mutual creation and destruction.
Wu Jingyuan had intended to charge out of the Sword Array. But as countless streaks of Sword Light descended, they sliced into the Defensive Spirit Light he had erected, instantly riddling it with holes.
He hastily retreated back into his own Array, his heart pounding in terror as he watched the dense web of Sword Light outside his Cave Mansion.
"Just who in the world are you!"
Wu Jingyuan found the situation utterly preposterous. He’d just been cultivating in his Cave Mansion, and suddenly someone had locked him down with a Sword Array.
Yang Jing directed the Sword Array to attack the Array Formation below.
Instantly, countless sharp streaks of Sword Light fell upon the Array’s Defensive Spirit Light.
Though the Defensive Spirit Light was resilient, Yang Jing’s Sword Array held the initiative, attacking and retreating at will.
The Celestial Intent Four Extremes Sword Formation was ever-changing, its blades dancing freely. The Sword Curtain at times fell like a sudden downpour, at others shone like the Great Sun, then blew like an autumn wind, or descended like a blizzard.
Although the Array guarding Wu Jingyuan had abundant Spiritual Qi, it was completely outmatched by the Sword Array’s assault, possessing no power to resist.
Wu Jingyuan tried to break out of the Sword Array several times, but was forced back into his Cave Mansion each time by the incomparably sharp Sword Light. His body was even covered in a dense web of cuts from the Sword Array.
He felt both despair and confusion. Who in the world was attacking him?
To his recollection, he had never offended such a formidable Sword Cultivator.
The sharp whistling of the swords instantly alerted everyone on the Wu Family’s lands.
They stared at the magnificent Sword Array shrouding their Old Ancestor’s Cave Mansion, momentarily struck speechless, completely at a loss for what to do.
"Wu Jingyuan secretly controls the Black Wind Thieves, plundering Flying Boats and racking up countless blood debts! I have come today to eliminate him! If any of you are not involved with the Black Wind Thieves, remain behind your doors and do not emerge. Do so, and you may yet keep your lives!"
Yang Jing let out a clear cry, his voice ringing out to everyone on the Wu Family’s lands.
His words terrified the Cultivators of the Wu Family who were involved with the Black Wind Thieves. They felt as if disaster had just fallen upon them.
Wu Jingyuan, trapped in the Sword Array, was burning with anxiety. His younger clansman who led the Black Wind Thieves hadn’t sent word back for two days now, and he had already been nursing an ominous premonition.
He never thought that after a hundred years of careful planning, it would all fall apart at the final hurdle.
The next moment, the Spiritual Light of Wu Jingyuan’s Defensive Array shattered with a deafening BOOM.
The backlash from the Array Formation caused the Spiritual Qi to surge backward, roiling restlessly.
