Chapter 6: God among Men
Later that day...
Lynx and his dear aunt Isabel left the room and walked back to the main house, and the weight of the place hit him the moment the doors opened.
The house was bigger than Lynx thought, and he just found out that the room he was staying in before isn’t even part of the house.
They walked inside the house. Family portraits lined the walls, antique furniture sat low and comfortable, worn at the edges but clearly expensive.
Some maids walked past and greeted them with soft bows, eyes flicking to Lynx for half a second before dropping respectfully.
’Shit system, is this what you mean by their not poor, this is freeking rich’ he thought while still observing the interior of nice, big, warm house.
The air smelled nice and clean. Lynx suddenly stopped observing and fixed his gaze at one particular portrait.
His eyes caught a photo on the wall. A beautiful girl, carbon copy of her mom. Same blonde rich hair as Isabel, falling in waves past her shoulders.
Same beautiful face that could stop men in their tracks. The same sharp eyes, but hers is darker, more like brown than orange.
His cousin, more like the proud sister who hasn’t even visited him once since he fell sick.
"Ohh enjoy while it last, I’m going to fuck you and your mom soon" the thought slipped out, because he could already see the hate burning in her eyes from the photo.
She was beautiful, just like her mother. But Isabel’s beauty was sharper and more matured looking, with tits and curves so full and heavy that kind of beauty made men forget their names the second they saw her. Isabel carried herself like a woman who knew her power.
’Well, better see her physically before I judge,’ Lynx thought. The girl in the photo had a glare, like she already hated him, like she blamed him for something he didn’t even do in this life.
Then Isabel went to her room. 10 sec later she’s back with a box in her hands, moving quick. She handed him clothes, her late husband’s clothes, folded neatly and smelling faintly of old cologne and dust. freewebnovel.cσ๓
"Here". She handed him the clothes
"They’re are old, but still nice and clean. Should fit you for now." She said sweetly, voice and eyes soft.
Lynx pulled off the piece of cloth he was wearing and wore the clothes she gave him right there, shirt first then pants without thinking twice. With Isabel turning fast and cheeks red the moment she realized what he was doing.
"You should have told me before you wear them here" she told him weakly ...’why I’m I turning and heating up, I’ve seen him naked before. I even cleaned him when he was sick, but he sure have gotten bigger’ she thought blushing hard, trying to convince herself it was nothing.
"Thanks Aunt Isabel," he said. His voice came out lower than he meant and it made Isabel’s breath catch before she recovered.
She smiled sweetly, that smile cracked something in his chest.
"Let’s get you real clothes. You deserve more than this old piece of cloth." There was guilt in her voice, like she was making up for lost time.
.....
They arrived at the store. It was a mall, big and clean with future techs everywhere you looked.
Glass walls reflected the city outside, floors lit up with each step they took, clothes hung like art instead of fabric. He was sure the casual wear here cost more than a high end car on Earth.
Lynx picked a tons of outfits, with his aunt choosing what will look good on him. Eyes were on both of them, but he acts like he doesn’t care.
He went into the changing rooms and he changed into dark shirt, dark pants, dark coat.
He stepped out of the changing room and back to his aunt and time slowed with every step he took.
Every eyes turned to him. Every single one.
Men froze mid conversation, words dying on their lips. Women stopped breathing, salesgirls forgot how to blink, even the mannequins looked fake next to him.
"Damn... is he a king or something?"
"Is he from above? There’s no way he’s from the same race and place as me."
"Please, one night. I’ll give you anything. My life, if you want it."
"Let me bear your child" one woman screamed before she could even process what she was saying, face red with need and embarrassment.
The comments hit from all sides. Male, female, old, young. It didn’t matter.
Lynx wasn’t just handsome. He was wrong, too perfect. Silver hair with gold streaks catching the light and falling over his forehead like he was born from a god.
Eyes that were two different colors, both glowing faintly like fire burned behind them. Skin that looked like it was carved from moonlight, smooth and flawless.
He walked like sin made flesh, every step deliberate, and the [Charm: Transcendent] blessing turned every women glance into lust and something like devotion. It wasn’t fair, but it was his now.
Some girls were bold enough to wink, lips curved in invitation, eyes promising everything. Others just stared, lips parted like they’d forgotten how to breathe or speak.
He felt it, the power and thrill rushing through his veins like a drug. It was satisfying and oddly addicting.
’Damn. After living like a failure in my past life, I got a new life and now I’m like a god among them. Whoever sent me here thank you.’ The thought made him smile.
[Stop saying that man. The Absolute God brought you here. Your soul somehow connected to his even across the universe. You were chosen. So thank Him and Me instead]
The System’s voice cut through his thoughts.
"You’re really annoying, you know that," Lynx muttered out loud without thinking, the words slipping out before he could stop them. "Did you say something dear?" Isabel asked.
She’d been watching him and caught the words even though they were low, her eyes searching his face for answers.
Lynx snapped back. He smiled warmly, his eyes softening just for her, "nah, don’t worry, I was just happy I’m back, bigger and stronger and I get to see your beautiful face happy once again."
He didn’t mean it like a nephew, he meant it like a man in love. The words slipped out raw and honest, and he didn’t take them back.
Isabel blinked, her cheeks went pink. "Thank you, dear... and you’re more handsome too more than anything anyone. Just look around you and see for yourself. People are tripping just to look at you."
’Especially these silly girls,’ she thought, and jealousy twisted sharp in her gut. She didn’t know why, but it was there.
She and Lynx had been talking for hours, laughing, catching up, bonding like they were making up for all the time they lost.
She could tell he’s changed, maybe maturity or something, but he’s not the fearful and sickly kid he once was. The way he looked at her changed too.
The worst part? She loved the change. Loved his looks now. Loved his teasing words he threw at her once in a while, the way his voice dropped low when he looked at her.
Then they came here and he became the center of the world. It was expected though ’He’s really hot now’ the thought slipped out from her, and she smiled at it.
Men forgot she existed, women forgot their boyfriends or partners. She knew she was hot, knew how men looked and worshipped her, how they stripped her with their eyes when she walked past.
But this, this was different. This was on another level entirely.
Most men aren’t even mad their girlfriend or wives are ogling Lynx, they too were stunned by him. freewёbnoνel.com
Some looked at her too but didn’t linger, they were too busy asking themselves if they should bow down to this boy walking with the lady. Too busy wondering if he was royalty, or something more dangerous.
But she felt proud and she’s really happy.
Her Lynx was back and she’s the one who’s walking at his side, instead of these jealous bitches that she’s sure are wishing she was dead right now.
A/N: Looks like our Dear Aunt is falling faster Lol.
