Chapter 304: Chapter 304: The Cheapest Room Costs Over 5,000 a Night!
Zion Prescott stood tall on the gangway, possibly due to the emergency minor surgery he had undergone, the usually handsome and refined face now showed traces of exhaustion.
He nodded to Adrian Law and Cecilia Vaughn together.
"Brother, sister-in-law... the surgery is over, go and check on Evan."
"Alright!"
Cecilia was the most excited person, her bright almond eyes sparkled with a few stars, the kind of unabashed joy that could almost infect everyone around her.
She quickly rushed to the helicopter entrance, ran a few steps, and then hurriedly turned to glance at the young girl who reported the situation.
"Classmate Keaton, sorry, I’m going to see my brother first. Since it’s so late, why don’t you go back to the dorm to rest?"
"Okay, if you have more questions for me tomorrow, I will have them all organized for you."
Cynthia Keaton nodded obediently.
Cecilia was grateful to the child, and she nodded slightly.
Instead, the silent female class teacher suddenly remembered a major issue.
"Um... Cynthia, you’re a day student, right? You don’t live in dorms? It’s so late, it’s not convenient to go back..."
"I have an electric bike, teacher, you don’t need to worry."
Cynthia shyly smiled.
Cecilia happened to hear their conversation and was about to speak when she saw Adrian Law lightly glance at Wyatt.
"Wyatt, find the best hotel nearby for this girl to stay overnight."
Adrian Law paused for half a second, considering that most parents of girls would worry, then added.
"If staying at a hotel is inconvenient, Wyatt, you can arrange for someone to escort her home."
"Yes, young master."
After solving the accommodation issue for the young girl, Cecilia finally walked toward the inside of the helicopter.
She could tell from Zion Prescott’s expression that her brother was not seriously injured, so she paid more attention to others.
...
Wyatt Law approached politely.
"Miss Keaton, would you like to go home or stay at the hotel?"
Cynthia was stunned, unexpectedly receiving extra care, she initially wanted to decline but then thought it wasn’t a big deal and finally gratefully nodded to Adrian Law and Wyatt Law.
"Thank you, how about..." She bit her lip corner, finally made up her mind: "How about staying at the nearby hotel, I will explain it to my family."
Although Stellerton First High School is located in a relatively remote suburb, there are usually parents accompanying their children to study, coupled with being one of the college entrance exam venues, which led to quite a few hotels nearby, including some higher-end star-rated ones.
"Alright, Miss Keaton, then please follow me, I recall the young master has a hotel here, it seems to be called The Veridian Lake, though it’s of average size, with some tidying up it should be barely acceptable for lodging."
Veridian Lake?
The name sounded familiar.
Cynthia Keaton was instantly dazed, the nearby crowd of dozens of classmates was even more abuzz with whispers!
"The Veridian Lake Grand Hotel, is that still considered average size? My gosh!"
"Veridian Lake is the most expensive hotel around Stellerton First High, and it usually doesn’t welcome guests, said to be because the prices are too high, even the cheapest stay costs over five thousand a night!"
This hotel, unbelievably, was owned by the dazzlingly handsome man in front of them, and Adrian Law’s subordinates even showed disdain towards it?!
A girl who thought of this couldn’t help but cover her mouth and scream.
"Oh my gosh, casually summon two helicopters, call the next family head of The Prescott Group brother, and own such a grand hotel under his name, isn’t this the typical male lead in a romance drama? And he’s so stylish in person, my girlish heart is exploding again."
"Wait, isn’t that handsome guy Evan Vaughn’s brother-in-law? Rounding it off, don’t we also kind of know a super-rich second generation..."
Everyone felt a sense of mutual understanding, the girls weren’t too bad, it was the guys, who usually had a nasty mouth about Evan Vaughn, blaming his good fortune with the ladies, yet irresponsibly had a heart condition and refused to carry water; now they realized, the man was truly low-key!
With such a background, casually crushing a few small fry was completely feasible!
"Tch, when all is said and done, Evan Vaughn is just relying on women, what’s so impressive about him..."
"You better shut up, that Evan Vaughn’s sister looks like a proper lady, and that handsome guy in black keeps staring at her. What does this tell us? Evan Vaughn’s sister is outstanding herself, surely she comes from a decent family too, otherwise why would she be held in such regard? Evan Vaughn is truly the low-key rich kid..."
"Exactly, Classmate Vaughn has always been so polite with us... taking a step back, what’s wrong with relying on connections? I also want such a sister, such a brother-in-law... boohoo..."
"You guys are turning around too fast, weren’t there so many people saying Evan Vaughn’s sister was shameless and looked down on those relatives..."
"I withdraw my statements."
"Weakly seconded, I withdraw mine too..."
Enough said, Cecilia Vaughn was not only beautiful, she had been the top scorer in Stellerton’s college entrance exam a few sessions back, richer, prettier, and more talented than you, she definitely wasn’t easily shaken by some derogatory comments.
...
The much-envied Evan Vaughn was actually miserably lying on a specially made sickbed.
He was stomped hard twice by Henry Forrest, the ribs were the most painful, although the broken bones were set and anesthesia was given, his body felt uncomfortable.
Evan Vaughn opened his eyes with difficulty, vaguely seeing the slender figure in white, almost instinctively wanting to straighten his back and sit up.
"Sis... you’re here..."
Evan Vaughn was slightly dehydrated, even his voice sounded like a broken hoarse.
"Lie down properly, don’t mess around..."
Cecilia was startled by Evan Vaughn wanting to sit up, quickly stopped, and poured a cup of warm water for Evan Vaughn.
"Your throat spat out blood clots, surely it’s uncomfortable, if talking is painful, just don’t speak."
Cecilia reflexively took on the demeanor of the family head, the voice inadvertently carried more authority.
There was no choice, back in the Vaughn Family, after Wendy Sutton left early, Gregory Vaughn and Florence Warner simply let them fend for themselves, so only Cecilia, as the eldest sister, cared for Evan more.
Evan Vaughn saw her stern look, feeling somewhat guilty, fearing his sister more than his parents.
"Sis, I’m fine..."
"Still say you’re fine, stop being stubborn..."
Cecilia felt a pang in her heart, gently holding Evan Vaughn’s hand.
"Was it Fiona Vaughn who came looking for you, causing you to fight?"
Evan’s eyes tightened, as if suddenly remembering something.
"Sis, just tell me honestly, what were you doing during the three years you disappeared?!"
The young man’s eyes showed blood streaks, he stared fiercely at Cecilia Vaughn.
"Fiona Vaughn, she... she said you killed someone and went to jail, is... is it true?"
