Chapter 297: Chapter 297: This Is Just Too Crazy
When Cecilia Vaughn woke up, she felt as if her whole body had been run over by a truck, completely in pieces.
She blinked her eyes drowsily, and in a daze, she felt as though she wasn’t wearing anything at all, only covered by a thin velvet blanket.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she turned to look beside her, only to find that Adrian Law was not there.
And the surroundings were very unfamiliar; definitely not in Starfall Bay.
A clearly very simple countryside cottage, with roughly laid floor tiles, and in the corners of the room were two bunches of flowers, one being sunflowers, and the other Cecilia didn’t recognize.
Where am I?
Cecilia blinked in confusion, trying to get out of bed, only to feel an unbearable soreness throughout her whole body, especially her legs, which felt like they didn’t belong to her.
Looking down, Cecilia noticed that both her arms and ankles, anywhere she could see, were dotted with red marks.
In an instant, all those extremely embarrassing memories of her and Adrian Law in the sunflower sea surged back into her mind.
Especially the scene where Adrian forced her to say she wanted him.
"..."
This is just too...
How crazy were they exactly before?
Cecilia weakly held her head, her brows slightly furrowed, and simply wrapped herself in the sheet, wanting to get out of bed and find some clothes to wear.
After all, she felt so bare all over, without even a scrap of cloth covering her, and the feeling was inexplicably peculiar...
However, she could feel that her body was quite fresh and clean, clearly showing that Adrian had tended to her while she was asleep.
Attempting to take a step, her legs were so sore it was almost impossible, and she nearly fell over.
"Cecilia, are you okay? How did you become so careless?"
A tall figure appeared behind the door without her noticing, and quickly stepped forward to support Cecilia.
"If it weren’t for you! Don’t hold me!"
Seeing Adrian’s deceivingly gentle face made Cecilia angry, especially since Adrian was already fully dressed.
From head to toe, he was perfectly groomed, even his shirt was neatly pressed and buttoned up to the top, exuding a restrained and scholarly aura, a stark contrast to the domineering man who had threatened her in the sunflower sea.
Ahhh, why is she thinking about those scenes again!
Cecilia, you’re such a perv!
"Don’t want me to hold you?" Adrian’s handsome face showed a slight, knowing smile: "Alright then..."
As soon as he finished speaking, he let go of her hand freely.
And Cecilia, unprepared for Adrian to take her jest seriously, lost her balance and clung to the wooden panel behind her.
The sheet she used to wrap her body fluttered down gently, falling pitifully at her feet.
She wasn’t wearing anything underneath the sheet...
In that instant, Cecilia’s mind went blank, completely dejected.
"You’re not allowed to look!"
Cecilia angrily glared at Adrian, unaware of just how enchanting she looked at that moment.
"Alright, alright, I won’t look."
Adrian smiled, turning his head with an exceptionally good-natured demeanor.
Cecilia breathed a sigh of relief, about to retrieve the sheet, when she suddenly heard Adrian’s laughter, filled with teasing.
"Cecilia, maybe you need to check your eyesight. There’s a mirror right across from you."
"..."
Cecilia was momentarily stunned, turning rigidly to look where Adrian pointed, truly seeing a full-length mirror.
Reflecting her entirely uncovered self, without the slightest concealment.
Down to the smallest detail.
Cecilia’s smile froze instantly; how embarrassing!
What kind of people hang mirrors in their bedroom? Don’t they think it’s strange?
"Why didn’t you remind me? Why then did I tell you to turn around?"
Adrian shrugged, the gesture, which would have seemed roguish if done by anyone else, had a wicked charm when he did it.
"Cecilia, you didn’t ask me to remind you."
"..."
Cecilia was left speechless, glaring at Adrian fiercely, before wrapped herself speedily in the sheet like a tightly-sealed dumpling.
"Is there any spare clothing here?"
They arrived in such a hurry, she hadn’t brought anything to change into, since she thought they’d quickly return home. But looking at the situation now, she didn’t want to move a finger, resigned to just stay at this countryside place for the night.
"There are two sets in the trunk, both unopened. Cecilia, you can temporarily wear one of them."
"Alright."
As she spoke, the girl nestled like a quail egg in the sheet, her eyes warily fixed on Adrian.
Adrian chuckled softly.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Am I going to eat someone?"
Who says you wouldn’t!
Hadn’t he devoured her already?
Cecilia grumbled inwardly but dared not voice it, fearing Adrian might decide to feast on her again.
Just then, Cecilia’s stomach growled, audibly in the open space.
"I’m hungry..."
Cecilia raised her head, unrestrainedly reaching out her hand.
"You, go get me clothes and then make me some food."
Adrian went out promptly.
"Alright, alright, Princess’s command is the most important."
Watching him leave, Cecilia felt somewhat annoyed.
Uh, wonder if there’s food to cook with here; if not, they could order takeout. Although Adrian said they were in a deserted area with no one around for miles, surely they couldn’t be beyond reach of delivery?
Cecilia frowned anxiously, the hunger in her stomach becoming more pronounced.
How had she ended up being taken by Adrian to such a remote place?
...
Cecilia simmered with slight fury, yet when Adrian returned, he carried not only clothes but a large food box.
It was from the Splendid Pavilion, as Cecilia could see the bright yellow tassel hanging.
"Cecilia, time to eat."
The girl was taken aback. How did Adrian manage it?
Soon, he laid out three meat dishes and two vegetables, with two sweet soups on the side.
Like some magic trick.
"Here, your favorite sweet and sour ribs."
Cecilia took a couple of bites, savoring the flavorful delicacy, she couldn’t help but contentedly rub her belly.
"Delicious, Evan also loves sweet and sour ribs..."
Mentioning her brother, Cecilia put down her chopsticks, a bit worried: "I wonder how his studies are going, there are only a few months left before he takes his entrance exams."
Adrian smiled gently, affectionately ruffling the girl’s hair.
"Cecilia, it’s fine, last time at Prescott Hospital, I saw Evan working on the Five and Three exercises, and his accuracy was quite high."
"True."
Cecilia exhaled a long breath.
At this moment, neither knew that Evan Vaughn was encountering a major trouble—
