Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Girlfriend’s Special Taste

"Big bro, Dr. John from Vesperia has come up with a way to craft an artificial cat’s tongue!"

Adrian Law suddenly halted his steps upon hearing Zion Prescott’s words.

He stared intently at Zion, a sense of joy spreading through his phoenix eyes that he hadn’t even noticed himself.

"Really? Then let’s get it into production as soon as possible! No matter how much it costs, or how expensive the materials are, make sure Dr. John is reassured. He just needs to make the cat’s tongue as realistic and functional as possible."

"Alright, I will."

Zion Prescott watched the smile in Adrian Law’s eyes and sighed inwardly, knowing that his big brother was truly smitten. He never liked pets before; being a neat freak, how could he accept a shedding little creature?

Cecilia Vaughn had changed all his habits, and he made an exception only for her.

Thinking of the day Cecilia, covered in wounds, came to Prescott Hospital holding Mimi, Zion could somewhat understand why Adrian would go to such lengths to protect a woman and do so much for her.

Zion thought it over, adjusted his thin-framed glasses perched on his nose, and half-jokingly curled his lips: "But for such a grueling endeavor, big bro, I’m charging double the usual fee."

"No problem, I appreciate your hard work."

Adrian nodded, not minded about the money at all. It’s better to settle accounts clearly than to owe favors.

Besides, the number of times he owed favors to Zion couldn’t be counted—Zion had saved his life numerous times when he was at death’s door, something money couldn’t measure.

"As straightforward as ever, big bro."

Zion casually raised his eyebrows.

"Oh, by the way, the mute medicine I gave you before, that was my first time making it. I estimate it could last about a month. But if your family patriarch gets someone to detox Rosalind White, that might not hold true."

Of course, in this world, there are probably only a handful of doctors capable of countering his concoction.

This was Zion’s pride.

Adrian nodded, an enigmatic gleam in his eyes.

"I understand, go ahead. I need to pick up Cecilia too. Zion, please keep an eye on Mimi’s rehab work. That’s the most important."

"Sure, separate pay for that."

"Alright."

The Prescott Family runs a medical establishment, not a charity. No one in high society can guarantee they won’t fall ill one day, needing to seek the Prescotts’ aid, so Zion Prescott’s wealth has been earned through his own skill.

If there are a few people Adrian Law respects in this world, Zion Prescott is certainly one of them.

Adrian reflected on their earlier conversation and finally patted Zion on the shoulder.

"Zion, if you can, try moving on from those past events. Really, no one is worth tormenting yourself over like that."

"Am I? When have I ever tormented myself?"

Zion smiled faintly, shaking his head as if a breeze passed through.

Adrian looked at him deeply, choosing not to say more.

"As long as you know it yourself."

He isn’t someone who typically meddles in others’ love lives, except perhaps scolding Felix Lockwood for being a bit too blatant with women.

Adrian has no doubt that for a playboy like Felix, no matter how striking the women are, it’s all just lip service, a rush of adrenaline.

But Adrian understands too well, for people like him and Zion, once they care, it’s hard to break out of it.

Cecilia used to express regret to him, he thought about introducing someone to Zion, probably one of her college mates, a girl named Bella Prescott, but Zion refused.

Once you’ve experienced the vast oceans, ordinary water will not suffice, and truly, who is born cold-hearted?

...

But these are Zion’s personal affairs. They are all adults, and Adrian won’t overly worry about his brother.

The thought of Mimi’s chance to regain her tongue lightened his mood as well.

Just as he reached a traffic light, and while Adrian was thinking of Cecilia’s face, he suddenly noticed a newly opened flower shop across the street.

He paused slightly, deciding to pull over and walk toward the flower shop.

These past days, Cecilia had been in low spirits, but now with good news about Mimi, Adrian hoped to cheer up his young wife a bit.

He didn’t know how to make girls happy.

However, Adrian remembered that Cecilia supposedly liked these delicate yet fragile flowers.

Maybe it’s because, despite their fragility, their colorful blooms, albeit brief, were far more vibrant than fake flowers?

"Welcome."

The young female shopkeeper was arranging flowers when she heard the door chime and instinctively turned her head to say a greeting.

In one glance, she was utterly captivated.

This man was extremely handsome!

Not only was he tall with long legs, but his face was even more striking than those of stars on TV. Her heart pounded purely due to admiration.

——After all, any man coming to such a shop to buy flowers, you’d know just by using your toes that he’s already taken.

"Sir, are you buying flowers for a girlfriend? Our shop just opened, and although it’s small, we have a complete range. If you’re buying for a girlfriend, I can offer a 30% discount, or even 40%!"

The shopkeeper, being a connoisseur of fine appearances, nearly drooled over Adrian’s looks as she enthusiastically promoted her flowers, ignoring the profit margin.

Well, no choice. On the first day of business, having such an incredibly handsome man visit was a blessing. Even selling at half-price felt worthwhile; she thought it was a good omen, ensuring future business was bound to prosper!

Seeing the shopkeeper so chatty, Adrian slightly frowned without being noticed.

Yet the shopkeeper didn’t pick up on his impatience, continuing to eagerly introduce.

"Sir, if you’re buying for a girlfriend, the Bulgarian white roses just arrived at our shop. They’re especially beautiful, sure to hit many young girls’ hearts."

"And these lilacs are equally gorgeous."

"Or if your girlfriend has a unique taste, we have birds of paradise, and these pure white calla lilies symbolize eternal happiness. Surely your girlfriend will love them..."

The shopkeeper continued her chatter, but to Adrian, they all sounded the same.

Scanning the room of beautifully arranged flowers, Adrian’s tightly furrowed brows began to relax.

"There’s no need to introduce."

"Huh?"

Had she been talking up a storm for nothing? Did this man not like any of them?

The shopkeeper pouted, and since Adrian was so handsome, she raised three fingers.

"Sir, at least take a bouquet of roses at 30% off. I can’t go any lower."

This being her first order, she was practically giving them at cost, accounting for delivery she was in the red...

Just as the shopkeeper felt all sorts of upset, Adrian calmly spoke.

"No need for discounts, I’ll take all the flowers you have here."
