Chapter 1328: Chapter 1323: Ruin Her Reputation Before Holding Her Legally Accountable
In a certain special room at the police station, only Nicholas Croft and Harry Zachary were there, sitting face to face. Harry cut straight to the point and asked, "Director Croft, if I take the stand and testify that Director Hannah instructed me to pay a hitman, will you let me off?"
"Have you ever seen the army execute a Traitor?"
Nicholas answered a question with a question.
Harry froze for a second, then lowered his eyes and chuckled when he realized what he meant. Indeed, from Hannah Hargrave’s perspective, what he was about to do was exactly what a Traitor would do.
He nodded. "Alright, I agree. Whenever you need me, Director Croft, I’ll go to court and testify."
"Mm... that, we’ll have to wait a bit." Nicholas dragged out his words lazily, slouching back in his chair.
Harry Zachary...
He frowned in confusion.
His wife had been murdered... one body, two lives. Was Director Croft really not in a hurry to avenge them?
While Harry was still puzzled, Nicholas spoke slowly and unhurriedly. "Hannah Hargrave killed my wife and child. If she only pays a legal price, that’s far too easy on her."
"Then what do you plan to do?" Harry asked instinctively. Nicholas lifted his gaze, met Harry’s eyes, and said word by word, "I want to completely ruin her reputation first, and then make her bear the legal consequences she deserves."
...
By the time Harry got back to the hospital, it was already after work. The moment he stepped into the ward, some unidentified flying object came hurtling at him. He deftly tilted his head aside and the thermos slammed into the wall behind him.
"Where the hell did you go? Were you out screwing some tramp?"
Harry bent down to pick up the thermos rolling on the floor and walked over with a grin.
"You’re not even on your period yet. Why’s your temper so bad?"
"Where did you go? Why didn’t you even make a phone call?" Hannah Hargrave kept pressing him, still annoyed, a white mesh cap over her hair, lying against the head of the bed in her hospital gown. freewebnøvel.com
Harry set the thermos on the cabinet and sighed. "Something came up at home. They needed me to wire some money back, so I’ve been busy with that."
Hannah had no interest in Harry’s family matters. She impatiently withdrew her gaze, looking straight ahead. "Just go. You don’t need to stay with me tonight."
Knowing full well Hannah was in a mood, Harry shifted to sit by her side, raised a brow and asked, "Really don’t need me to keep you company? Actually... trying it once in a hospital room doesn’t sound half bad."
"You think I’m in the mood looking like this?" Hannah turned her eyes on him, cold and flat.
"Sigh..." Harry let out a disappointed breath. "Fine, then we’ll wait till you’re feeling better before we do it."
Then he leaned in close to her again, smiling suggestively. "I’ll take good care of my health these days and make sure next time you’re hitting one orgasm after another."
Hannah just looked at him coolly, barely reacting.
"Alright then." Harry turned back with another sigh. "Since you’re not happy, I won’t slap my burning passion against your cold ass. I’ll head out first."
"Get lost!" Hannah was amused by his words and grabbed a pillow to throw at him. Harry caught it, put it back, and said with a smile, "That’s more like it. It’s not like your face is ruined, so why keep it all iced over?"
"Really don’t want me to stay?"
"No. Go check out the identity of that woman Nicholas Croft brought back for me." Only by digging up the woman’s background could she get a grip on her weak spots.
"Got it, I’m off then." Harry nodded, briefly stunned by the obvious displeasure in Hannah’s eyes, then curled his lips, leaned down, hooked an arm around her neck, and kissed her.
"Can I go now?"
"Go." A hint of a smile finally surfaced on Hannah’s face.
