Chapter 384: Chapter 381: Which Son of a Bitch Said That

It was already 7:40 by the time Ethan Ellsworth arrived. Nora gave him her house key and rushed to the film set by bus.

She was late.

The director’s eyes were about to pop out of his head.

"Listen, Nora Ainsworth, are you making the entire crew wait for just you? The nerve!"

Nora Ainsworth lowered her head. "Director, a relative showed up unexpectedly, and I had to give them my key before I could leave. I’m sorry."

The director hmphed. "I think ever since you got a part in this show, you’ve started looking down your nose at everyone. I let it slide when you suddenly quit that dating show, but now you’re late today, too. This is your only warning. Otherwise, once this show wraps, you can forget about us ever working together again!"

She nodded hurriedly. "Okay~"

Only then did the director say, "Hurry up and get to makeup. The entire crew is waiting for you."

Nora Ainsworth immediately went to the dressing room.

Since she was the only one in the makeup room, she had to do her makeup herself. In any case, it wasn’t the first time she’d had to do this; it had happened before while filming *Love when the sun comes out*.

Just as Quentin Grant drove into the company parking lot, he ran into Martin Grant.

"Brother."

"What are you doing here?"

Martin Grant smiled. "I have a new girlfriend who works at your company. I came to see her."

"Mm."

After a perfunctory grunt, he strode away.

Martin Grant walked behind him, feeling somewhat resentful.

Ever since they were kids, he and his third uncle’s son had never gotten along with Quentin Grant.

The two of them had tried to frame him many times since they were young, but they never succeeded. In fact, he always managed to turn the tables and put them firmly in their place.

Even when they did meet, there was never much small talk between the three cousins.

Inside the company, Quentin Grant walked up to the secretary’s desk and said in a low voice, "Martin Grant is in the building. Find out who he’s here to see and report back to me."

Secretary Lynch nodded. "Yes, sir."

Martin Grant thought Quentin Grant wasn’t interested in his girlfriend. In reality, Quentin had been on alert ever since Martin mentioned his girlfriend was a Grant Group employee.

’As far as I know, Martin’s past girlfriends were either celebrities or models—ninety percent of them were famous. Why would he date a Grant Group employee?’

He had barely been in his office for a moment when Secretary Lynch came in.

"Boss, Martin Grant went into Catherine Callahan’s office. From what I hear, he’s come to see her several times now."

"I see. You can go." The hint of warmth in Quentin Grant’s eyes vanished.

He had just turned on his computer and logged into his personal social media account when a friend request popped up.

He might have ignored it, but a glance at the message made him chuckle. It read: It’s your son, add me ASAP~

Around noon, a window from his little treasures’ account popped up and started shaking, followed immediately by a video call request.

He accepted the call, and two little heads instantly appeared on the screen, sitting side by side. Quentin Grant immediately took a screenshot.

"Daddy!" the two boys shouted in unison.

"How did you find my account?"

Elmer Grant laughed. "Uncle Ellsworth told us, of course! Daddy, we got into trouble yesterday. Mommy had to pay over ten thousand in compensation this morning."

Quentin Grant was unconcerned. "What kind of trouble could you two get into?"

"We beat someone up, and we also used glue to stick his pants to a chair."

"Then that person must have deserved a beating," Quentin Grant said calmly. "My two precious darlings would never be the ones to start a fight."

Dylan Grant clapped, his captivating eyes wide. "Daddy, you’re the best! He totally deserved it. He said Elmer and I are kids without a dad."

Elmer Grant fanned the flames. "He also called us bastards and called Mommy a lowly actress! He insulted us with all kinds of garbage about her and directors... Death before dishonor!"

Upon hearing this, Quentin Grant’s anger flared. "What the hell?" His face darkened. "Which son of a bitch said that?!"

Dylan and Elmer exchanged a glance, then said in unison with pitiful voices, "It was Fatty from our class. Daddy, Mommy was secretly sad after she found out. When are you going to marry her and bring her home?"

Quentin Grant heaved a long sigh. "Sons, it’s not that Daddy won’t marry her; it’s that your mommy won’t marry me. She’s using her career as an excuse not to come back with me. What am I supposed to do?"

Elmer Grant snorted. "I think you’re just a wimp, Daddy. You’ve acknowledged us as your sons, but you won’t make it public. It’s obvious you’re keeping your options open for other women. I’ve figured you out! You’re giving yourself an out. I’m going to tell Mommy."

Quentin Grant said quickly, "You can’t blame me for this! It’s your mommy who’s insisting on it. Daddy has to respect her wishes."

"Fine, whatever. We’re going to call our godfather now. Bye-bye~" the two boys said, pretending to hang up.

Quentin Grant said at once, "Wait! What are you going to talk to your godfather about?"

"We’ll ask him to announce to the world that he has two sons, what else?" Dylan said, rolling his eyes.

"You two dare!" He shot to his feet. "Just you wait. I’m on my way now!"

The call ended. The two boys exchanged a look. "Well, that’s that."

Elmer looked a little worried. "Bro, do you think Mommy will be mad that we threatened Daddy into coming over?"

Dylan said with certainty, "She won’t be. Mommy misses Daddy way more than we do. If you don’t believe me, just wait and see tonight."

Elmer’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. "Okay!"

When Secretary Lynch saw his boss grab his work laptop and jacket and hurry out the door, he quickly asked, "Boss, where are you going in such a rush? We have an important meeting at two o’clock!"

Quentin Grant paused. "I just realized there’s something far more important than any meeting. Do you want to know what it is?"

Secretary Lynch was dumbfounded. "What?"

"Ahem, I’m not telling you." Exasperated, Secretary Lynch watched him walk away quickly and hurried to catch up. "But, Boss, you have to be here to lead the meeting this afternoon! What are we supposed to do if you just leave?"

"Do you think I keep an all-powerful secretary like you around for nothing? You’re up, obviously. I’ll be back the day after tomorrow. You can deal with the minor issues; anything major can wait for my return."

"But... Boss..."

Before he could finish, the words died in his throat. Quentin Grant got into the elevator and pointed at him. "You. If you dare say one more word, your bonus..."

Secretary Lynch clamped a hand over his mouth and shook his head.

He stayed that way until the elevator doors closed.

No one could stop Quentin Grant from doing what he wanted. If he set his mind to something, there was nothing he couldn’t achieve.

In truth, his trip to Harrowin was for a ridiculously simple reason: to let everyone at the kindergarten know that the two kids did, in fact, have a father! It was this incredible notion that spurred him on. This wasn’t about fighting for riches; it was about fighting for respect.
