Chapter 92: Chapter 92: The Whole Nest Takes Action
"I’m looking for Brother Kun!"
Before Wang Hao could even enter the gambling den, he was pushed aside by a burly man in a hurry.
This burly man declared as soon as he entered that he was there to see Brother Kun, and since the guard seemed to know him, he was let straight in.
It seemed his trip today wasn’t in vain; Ah Kun was inside.
Wang Hao made it known he was here to play, so the doorkeeper didn’t trouble him—after all, every visitor was a guest.
Wang Hao had no interest in gambling, and after entering, he simply looked around. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
He noticed that "security" guards were discreetly stationed all around the gambling den, but these were actually enforcers there to prevent any trouble.
If someone caused a disturbance here, they would definitely be at a disadvantage.
Wang Hao wandered around inside, observing that next to the VIP area was a door guarded by two thugs, which surely meant Ah Kun was behind it.
"I’m sorry sir, this area isn’t open to the public. Please go and play over there!"
As soon as Wang Hao approached the door, he was driven away by the two enforcers.
Their cautiousness only convinced Wang Hao further that Ah Kun was inside.
But with so many enforcers around, a direct approach was impossible; he’d have to wait for an opportunity.
So, Wang Hao kept strolling and watching around the gambling den, but Ah Kun didn’t come out. Could he have guessed wrong?
"Ouch, you watch on your own for a bit, I’ve got a stomachache and need to use the restroom!"
Just then, one of the guards by the door suddenly clutched his stomach, glanced sidelong at something, and walked off.
"Lazy people are always busy with one or the other, I bet you’re not going to take a dump but thinking about some chick. Go take care of it!"
The other guard cursed grumpily.
Wang Hao overheard their conversation and smiled. He followed the thug into the restroom.
The restroom in the gambling den was spacious, with private stalls, and wasn’t busy since the gamblers were all fixated on the gambling tables, only coming when they couldn’t hold it anymore.
When Wang Hao followed him in, it was just the two of them.
The thug didn’t pay much attention when he saw Wang Hao come in; he finished his business and started to tidy his clothes in the mirror.
"What are you staring at me for, kid?"
Noticing that Wang Hao was still looking at him, the thug glared back, asking in a disgruntled tone.
"I just want to borrow something from you."
Wang Hao said, his lips curling into a smirk.
"Borrow what?"
The thug replied impatiently.
Wang Hao smiled without a word, just kept staring at him.
The thug felt unnerved under his gaze and began to curse loudly.
Suddenly, Wang Hao gripped the thug’s neck with one hand and covered his mouth with the other, silencing his shouts, then delivered a chop to the back of his neck.
The thug collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Wang Hao dragged him into a stall and stripped off the thug’s clothes to dress himself.
Before leaving, he latched the restroom door from inside and climbed out over the top.
After changing, Wang Hao confidently took his place in front of the door.
"Who are you? Where’s Ah Liang?"
The other guard saw Wang Hao and asked, puzzled.
"Ah Liang? He just told me in the restroom to cover for him for a bit because he had something to do!"
Wang Hao said convincingly, winking at the other guard, "You know what I mean!"
The guard instantly understood, chuckled, and replied.
"You’re new here, right? Haven’t seen you before. Keep a close watch; we can’t afford any mistakes tonight!"
This caught Wang Hao’s attention, prompting him to ask.
"Why?"
The enforcer was just about to speak when the door suddenly opened, and out walked a fat man holding prayer beads, swaggering in such a way that, with a group of enforcers following behind him, it was certain this man was Akun.
"Brother Kun!"
Upon seeing the fat man, the enforcer immediately called out respectfully.
"Brother Kun!"
Wang Hao, in order not to expose his identity, also followed suit and respectfully called out.
Akun didn’t even glance at the two and walked by; perhaps because he had taken on too many new underlings lately, he hadn’t noticed the change of people at the door.
Akun didn’t suspect Wang Hao’s identity.
He walked straight out of the gambling den, with the strong man who had just come in following him.
"Hurry up and follow!"
As soon as Akun had left, the enforcer saw that Wang Hao was still standing still and promptly pulled him along.
Wang Hao noticed that most of the enforcers inside the gambling den had followed out as well.
They arrived at the entrance of the hotel where several minivans were already waiting.
"Get in quickly!"
The strong man following Akun ordered, and all the enforcers boarded the minivans in an orderly manner.
As soon as the van doors closed, someone dragged out two burlap sacks from under the seats to reveal they were filled with weaponry.
Wang Hao stared, dumbfounded, thinking this was a call to arms!
He had only come to deal with Seventh Brother’s issue with Akun, so how had he ended up getting mixed up in a battle so unexpectedly?
If anything unexpected happened, what would become of his parents back home? And the greenhouse, Xia Xue, Cailian...
Wang Hao’s thoughts were still racing about what to do when the vehicle stopped.
A group of men put on hoods and got out of the car, with Wang Hao among them.
However, Wang Hao figured that in such a chaotic fight, he could just take the chance to escape amidst the confusion.
But when the group surrounded an old sedan, Wang Hao began to feel uneasy.
Wasn’t that Elder Gao’s car?
Instantly, Wang Hao felt a sinking premonition.
Wang Hao looked carefully and indeed it was Elder Gao’s car, and inside were Gao’s three brothers.
He saw four people crammed inside: Sun Laodie sat in the front passenger seat, Elder Gao and another middle-aged man who resembled Sun Laodie were in the back, presumably the third brother Sun they were supposed to pick up.
And the driver was someone Wang Hao had never seen before.
As soon as Akun and his men surrounded the car, the driver immediately ran out.
"Brother Kun, I brought all three brothers here without missing a single one, as promised. Remember to keep your word."
As soon as the driver got out, he ran to Akun to claim credit.
"Of course, you can rest assured, I’ll take care of all your Carefree Pills from now on."
Akun said, laughing heartily while pushing the man aside.
Elder Gao inside the car just sneered after hearing this but said nothing.
Sun Laodie glared furiously at the man who betrayed them and cursed vehemently.
"Yong Zi, you ingrate, to think we trusted you so much and you dared to betray us!"
"Laodie, I had no choice. Both of you are in a tight spot, and now, Chicheng County belongs to Brother Kun. You better submit to him sooner. Maybe he’ll grant you a bowl of rice so you won’t starve to death."
Yong Zi appeared to be concerned, but in truth, he was taunting them.
Akun, seeing how furious Sun Laodie was, felt exhilarated.
He played with the prayer beads in his hand, relishing the anticipation of their pleas for mercy.
"Yong Zi, do you know what happens to those who betray us?"
While Sun Laodie was speaking, he waved his fists, scaring Yong Zi into retreating behind Akun.
"Don’t worry, Yong Zi, with me, Akun here, none of them would dare touch a single hair on your head!"
Akun scoffed and with a wave of his hand, the enforcers behind him immediately brandished their weapons, encircling the sedan so there was no escape...
