Chapter 40: Chapter 40 Bitten Again
Suddenly, Su Lin grabbed Wang Hao’s hand and ran to the side.
"Big brother Hao, run fast!"
"Wait, what about the Lingzhi?"
Wang Hao asked anxiously.
"Don’t worry, they can’t take it away. Let’s hurry and leave, or it’ll be too late. Saving our lives is what’s most important!"
Su Lin didn’t look back as she ran forward, and Wang Hao had no choice but to follow.
"What’s happening?"
Wang Hao asked as he ran.
"I just scattered all of the potion; I’m not sure how many poisonous creatures there are in the forest. For safety, we should hide and watch for changes."
Wang Hao was shocked inwardly. This girl even knew about watching for changes.
Li Guang and others, seeing that Wang Hao and Su Lin had abandoned the Lingzhi and run away, were overjoyed. Now the Lingzhi would be theirs.
They rushed eagerly to the rock face, trying to pick the Lingzhi.
However, just as Li Guang reached the Lingzhi and was about to take it, he saw the grass in front of him shaking violently.
Immediately, a huge mass of black centipedes scurried rapidly towards them.
So many types, so many in number.
Besides those, there were snakes, spiders, lizards, and other poisonous creatures whose names they couldn’t call out.
Seeing this scene, Li Guang was petrified with fear.
"Run! There are centipedes!"
Someone screamed in terror upon seeing this.
Li Guang was so frightened that he turned pale and stood frozen on the spot, not knowing what to do.
It took someone dragging him to snap him out of it, and then he turned and ran down the mountain desperately with everyone else.
"Ding ding ding~"
Meanwhile, Wang Hao and Su Lin hid in the grass nearby, watching all this and continuing to shake the bell in their hands.
Seeing the swarms of poisonous creatures surge forward as if well-trained, Wang Hao was also scared by the scene. freewebnoveℓ.com
Turning his head to look at Su Lin, he realized she didn’t show even a hint of fear.
"Lin Lin, you’re amazing!"
Wang Hao said, admiringly.
"Big brother Hao, really? Then I’ll show you something even more impressive!"
Upon hearing this, Su Lin was delighted inside and continued to increase the shaking speed of the bell.
The poisonous creatures, feeling the commands of the bell, also sped up and continued to chase the crowd.
Li Guang looked back at the Lingzhi while running, his unwillingness to leave it evident.
Only when the Lingzhi was completely covered by the poisonous creatures did Li Guang reluctantly look away.
Realizing that the swarm of poisonous creatures was still relentlessly pursuing them, they ran for their lives towards the edge of the forest.
Before long, they encountered another group of people who had conspired with Li Guang to snatch the Lingzhi. Seeing everyone running madly downhill, they were filled with confusion.
"What’s wrong with you guys?"
"Run, run, there are... there are centipedes!"
Li Guang said, panting.
"What about the Lingzhi?"
"Didn’t get it. I guess those beasts destroyed it. Damn it, if you value your life, run!"
Li Guang cursed as he ran, still somewhat unwilling to give up.
Seeing the poisonous creatures rushing towards them, the others didn’t have time to think and followed them down the mountain.
Some hadn’t even seen the face of the century-old Lingzhi.
But no one understood why these poisonous creatures had come out in force. Could it be they had offended the Mountain God?
Half an hour later, Su Lin finally stopped shaking the bell, thinking that everyone must have left and wouldn’t come back, so she let the poisonous creatures disperse.
They returned to the spot where the Lingzhi was growing and were overjoyed to see that it wasn’t damaged.
It must have been the insect repellent powder they had spread earlier that kept the poisonous creatures at bay.
"Lin Lin, what potion did you sprinkle just now, and how did you make the poisonous creatures so obedient?"
Wang Hao squatted down and examined the Lingzhi, asking curiously.
"It’s actually a kind of venom, the secretion of that insect, and generally, these poisons maintain their own toxicity by feeding on other liquid poisons."
"That’s why I just used the venom to attract them over. Once they touched the venom on the ground, they began to heed the sound of the insect in the bell."
Su Lin patiently explained.
"All creature are indeed miraculous! But this isn’t considered witchcraft, is it?"
Wang Hao muttered under his breath.
"I wouldn’t know about that, anyway, everyone thinks that being able to control other objects isn’t a good omen."
While talking, the two of them picked the Lingzhi mushrooms and prepared to descend the mountain.
"It’s getting late, let’s hurry back."
Wang Hao nodded, aware that anything unpredictable could happen in the depths of the forest after sunset.
They both needed to get down the mountain before dark.
Therefore, they carefully placed the Lingzhi mushrooms in the basket and started walking down the mountain.
Just as they were walking down the valley, suddenly, Su Lin let out a cry of pain.
"Ah!"
"What happened?"
Not knowing what had occurred, Wang Hao turned his head back and was shocked to see a giant centipede coiled behind them.
Centipedes are highly venomous, and a bite, if not treated promptly, could prove fatal.
Turning to look at Su Lin again, he saw that she was unexpectedly bitten by the centipede, her clothes soaked with blood.
"Damn beast, I’ll kill you!"
Wang Hao said through gritted teeth as he drew his woodcutting knife and struck at the giant centipede.
The centipede, however, dodged with a flick of its tail and extended two antennae to attack Wang Hao.
"Brother Hao, be careful!"
Su Lin warned in a panic.
Wang Hao’s brows furrowed deeply as he kept his eyes fixed on the centipede, raised his knife again, and cleanly chopped off the centipede’s head.
"Chop!"
Blood spurted out as the centipede’s head was severed from its body, both falling to the ground, lifeless.
"Brother Hao, I... feel dizzy."
Suddenly, Su Lin felt dizzy and weak; the centipede’s venom must have begun to take effect.
Turning to look, Wang Hao saw Su Lin’s face turn pale, accompanied by convulsions. He had to immediately remove the venom from her.
"Lie down quickly, I’ll suck the poison out for you."
Wang Hao spoke and took off his jacket to spread on the ground and made Su Lin lay on it.
But the bite was so unfortunately placed on Su Lin’s lower abdomen that he had to make her take off her pants to properly treat it.
"If you don’t take off your pants, I won’t be able to treat it well."
Wang Hao said anxiously.
"I need to take off my pants?"
Su Lin’s face flushed red, hesitating without moving.
"Don’t hesitate, it’s a matter of life and death; we need to suck the poison out quickly before it spreads, it will be trouble then."
With shy glances at him, Su Lin hesitantly took off her pants, revealing her smooth, tender thighs.
Seeing those enticing white thighs, Wang Hao couldn’t help but swallow saliva, feeling an impulsive urge stirring within him.
But he forcefully restrained himself.
Because he knew that this was not the time for such actions, otherwise he might kill her.
"Bear with it and don’t move; I’ll get the poison out right away!"
Wang Hao instructed in a low voice, then bent down and bit into the area of Su Lin’s lower abdomen.
"Ah? Brother Hao, why are you using your mouth to suck?"
Su Lin sat up and looked at Wang Hao, startled by his action, and said with some shyness.
"How else am I supposed to suck? Stop making trouble and lie down!"
Wang Hao raised his head, spat out the poisonous blood, and spoke.
Then he continued to work hard, and Su Lin trembled slightly but did not resist.
Allowing Wang Hao to press his lips against her lower abdomen...
