Chapter 353: Chapter 353: The Fox Exploits the Tiger’s Might
"Mr. Wang, over here!"
Chen Hongying spotted Wang Hao from a distance and hurriedly greeted him.
"There’s no need for such formality between us, just call me Wang Hao. That’s how Xia Xue calls me, too!"
Wang Hao always felt awkward with Chen Hongying addressing him as Mr. Wang.
"That doesn’t seem quite appropriate!"
Chen Hongying was slightly taken aback.
In her heart, Chen Hongying of course understood the relationship between Wang Hao and Xia Xue, but Wang Hao suddenly putting her on the same level as Xia Xue, what was his intention? Could there be some unsavory plot?
However, Wang Hao hadn’t thought that far and entered the Pioneer Building with Chen Hongying.
On the top floor of the Pioneer Building, there was an office area of about two hundred square meters, with double-layered floor-to-ceiling windows up front. At a glance, one could take in the entire cityscape.
Wang Hao liked this office very much.
"This place is great, I really like it, I’ll take it!"
Wang Hao decided after just one look.
"You might want to wait until you’ve met with the property manager before making a decision!"
Chen Hongying laughed helplessly, thinking that it wasn’t yet up to him to make such a decision.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear, the property manager arrived at the office right after Chen Hongying finished speaking, followed by a child.
Wang Hao did a double-take, wasn’t this the young man who had used him as a bad example to teach his child downstairs, and that same child?
"Dad, look, isn’t that the poor sod from downstairs? How come he is here?"
The child cried out upon seeing Wang Hao.
Poor sod?
Wang Hao couldn’t help but frown; he truly didn’t understand how this young man educated his child, to actually call someone a ’poor sod’ to their face, which was simply lacking in manners.
"Young man, that’s quite impolite of you to say!"
Chen Hongying couldn’t help but speak up.
"I’m really sorry, my son is just outspoken, I hope you can forgive us if he has offended you!"
The young man finally spoke, but without a hint of an apology in his tone.
Outspoken? So did he agree with what his son said?
Chen Hongying couldn’t contain her anger, but lashing out at a seven- or eight-year-old would make her look bad, so she forcefully suppressed the fury in her heart.
Wang Hao seemed indifferent, just giving a wry smile, but whether there was a hidden knife in that smile, only Wang Hao knew.
"I’m quite fond of this place, I want to rent it!"
Wang Hao gestured towards the surrounding environment of the office and stated directly to the property manager.
"Hmph!"
The young man looked down on Wang Hao with disdain.
"Our rent here is six million a year. You, a guy squatting on the street eating at food stalls, can’t even afford a car, how could you afford such an expensive place?"
"Whether I can afford it or not is none of your concern, just as long as you can get the rent, right?"
Wang Hao’s retort left the young man speechless.
"You can rent it if you want, but we have our conditions set clearly, you cannot alter the layout of this place, nor can you do a business dealing with Chinese herbal medicine, these terms are non-negotiable!"
The young man said arrogantly.
Wang Hao’s face darkened slightly.
"Will these conditions be included in the contract?"
Wang Hao asked.
"Of course not, these terms are set by our company and are not legally protected. If we put them in the contract, wouldn’t that be illegal?"
The young man wasn’t foolish.
"If you know that doing so is illegal, then why would you still make such unreasonable demands?"
Wang Hao’s voice grew lower as he spoke.
"What’s it to you?"
The young man glared angrily, speaking with arrogance.
"Whether you lease it or not, stop spouting this nonsense to me. If you rent, you can’t engage in the Chinese herbal medicine business to avoid competing with my sister-in-law later on."
The young man finally spoke the truth. It turned out that there was already a company dealing in Chinese herbal medicine inside the building, and it was opened by the property manager’s sister-in-law.
Several Chinese herbal medicine companies had previously been interested in renting office space here, but they were all eventually driven away by the young man using various methods.
"Nowadays, business competition is all about fairness. Monopolizing the market like you are doing seems a bit inappropriate, doesn’t it?"
Wang Hao asked.
"Inappropriate? What a joke. I manage the leasing rights for all the offices in this building; if I say it is appropriate, it’s appropriate—it’s not your place to tell me how to do my job!"
The young man, with a newfound sense of presence, spoke sharply with every sentence.
"By being so unreasonable, aren’t you afraid of someone reporting you?"
Wang Hao couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh.
"Report me? Who would dare? This property is owned by the Wen Family. Who would dare to report the Wen Family? I think they don’t want to live anymore."
The young man said with an air of confidence.
Wang Hao quickly figured it out. No wonder this young man was so arrogant—it was a classic case of a little power going to his head.
"So, are you renting or not? If you’re renting, agree to my terms obediently; if not, scram. I have to take my son to a competition!"
The young man said impatiently.
"I have nothing to discuss with someone like you. Have your superior come and talk to me!"
Wang Hao spoke unhurriedly.
"Who do you think you are?"
The young man curled his lip, saying disdainfully.
"Do you think you’re someone who can casually meet my supervisor? He’s a favorite right-hand man of Wen Yonglin. You should look at yourself in the mirror—are you even worthy of meeting him?"
"Now, just decide, are you calling or not?"
Wang Hao asked.
"Just because you say call, you call? Do you really think you’re somebody?"
The young man glanced at Wang Hao disdainfully and spoke irritably.
"Fine, then you’re not calling. I will call myself!"
Wang Hao immediately took out his cell phone and dialed Wen Yonglin’s number.
The call connected quickly.
"Wang Hao, do you need something?"
Wen Yonglin asked cheerfully, as Wang Hao rarely called him on his own initiative.
"Not to hide it from you, but I do need something this time. I’m at Shuang Chuang Building, looking to rent the top-floor office here. However, the property manager is not allowing me to run a Chinese herbal medicine business."
"I just wanted to confirm with you if this rule was set by you?"
Wang Hao said nonchalantly.
"What? I didn’t set that kind of rule? There’s such a thing happening? Make sure that manager doesn’t leave and waits there!"
Wen Yonglin’s tone seemed a bit angry as he finished speaking and then hung up the phone.
After Wang Hao put away the phone, he said to the young man.
"You heard that, don’t you leave!" fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"Who are you trying to scare? Making a random call and claiming it’s Wen Yonglin, you think I’m a three-year-old?"
The young man didn’t believe Wang Hao, because he had worked there so long without getting Wen Yonglin’s private number. Looking at Wang Hao’s impoverished appearance, there was no way Wen Yonglin would bother with him.
"Son, I can tell this poor guy definitely doesn’t have the money to rent and is just putting on a show. Come on, I’ll take you to the competition first."
After speaking, the young man grabbed his child, preparing to leave, glancing back at Wang Hao with disdain as they walked away.
"Son, you must study hard in the future, or you’ll be fooled by such lowly tricks. Clearly having no money to rent, yet still pretending."
"What nonsense are you talking about? Don’t go too far!"
Chen Hongying, who was standing by, couldn’t contain herself and cursed out loud.
"What, calling you scammers? Is that wrong? If you’ve got the money, just rent the place directly. Why waste my time here with your dilly-dallying?"
The young man turned back and started to shout at Chen Hongying even louder than she had, looking even more fierce.
