Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Tyrannical Anger Release
Ding Li’s face turned pale as he listened, and his trembling legs almost made him collapse to the ground.
It’s over, I’m surely done for now!
Seeing Wang Hao’s ferocious demeanor, Ding Li felt his heart sink to rock bottom.
Yet he still forced himself to suppress his fear, only thinking about leaving this place as soon as possible.
"You just wait; I will definitely take my revenge!"
With that, Ding Li fled the gambling stall as if he were running for his life.
Without a spectacle to watch, the crowd pursed their lips and went back to their gambling or spectating.
Wang Hao had deliberately let Ding Li go, after all, this was a gambling parlor, under the territory of Mr. Gao, where starting a fight would breach the rules.
Wang Hao gave a grin and then leisurely straightened his clothes before picking up his own money pouch.
Seeing him about to leave, Mr. Gao came over and kindly warned, "Brother Wang Hao, I think Ding Li won’t let this go. How about I have Old Sun Second escort you?"
"Thanks for the kind offer, Mr. Gao, but don’t worry; that kid doesn’t have what it takes to trouble me," Wang Hao replied with assurance.
Watching Wang Hao’s retreating figure, Mr. Gao smiled faintly.
He called over Old Sun Second and instructed, "That young man is no ordinary person. Follow him and see if you can offer some help. I suspect Ding Li will try to retaliate against him on his way."
...
Whistling a tune, Wang Hao strolled leisurely on the way back home.
True to Mr. Gao’s prediction, not long after leaving the gambling stall, Ding Li blocked Wang Hao’s path, leading a group of thugs.
Wang Hao didn’t seem surprised at all by this development.
He chuckled lightly and said, "What’s the matter, can’t accept defeat?"
"Be smart and leave the money. Cut off an arm, and we’ll call it even," Ding Li arrogantly demanded, oblivious to Wang Hao’s unusual calm.
Wang Hao tightened his grip on his money pouch and scoffed, "Looks like you’re trying to default on our bet?"
"What default? Do you have any evidence? If you can’t produce an IOU, even if you report me, I’m not scared. Hahaha..." Ding Li folded his arms across his chest and laughed uproariously.
Wang Hao shook his head; this man was more stubborn than a mangy dog.
After a pause, he said calmly, "You’re ambushing me now, aren’t you afraid that Old Sun Second will come after you for settling things this way?"
Both men had asked Old Sun Second to be a witness at the beginning. Now that Ding Li was reneging on their agreement, he clearly had no regard for Old Sun Second.
"Haha, Old Sun Second is just Mr. Gao’s lapdog. With the crackdown nowadays, Mr. Gao’s gambling stall is already illegal. If I report it, they wouldn’t be able to continue operating," Ding Li boasted, being well aware of insider dealings from his years frequenting the gambling parlors.
"You must be tired of living, aren’t you afraid that your words will reach Mr. Gao’s ears and you won’t be alive to report anything?" Wang Hao said with a cat-toying-with-a-mouse grin.
Although confident that he could handle Ding Li and his gang single-handedly, why not use Mr. Gao’s influence to resolve things?
"Ding Bro, why waste words with him? Just do it," one of the impatient thugs beside him said, eager to grab the money pouch and divvy up the spoils.
"Go get him!" Ding Li nodded and waved his hand.
Suddenly, the gang swarmed forward, converging on Wang Hao.
The foremost thug, with dyed-blond hair, brandished a dagger and stabbed towards the hand holding Wang Hao’s money pouch.
Wang Hao hadn’t expected such ruthless aggression from the thugs and, unable to dodge in time, had his arm slashed by the dagger, blood gushing out.
Glancing at his bleeding arm, a chilling light flickered in his eyes.
His strength had indeed increased significantly, but he was not yet impervious to blades; he realized he might have been overconfident.
The blond thug was ecstatic with his successful hit and, with a loud yell, signaled the group to keep attacking Wang Hao.
Seeing the thugs’ intent to kill, Wang Hao’s expression darkened.
The next second, a golden dragon shadow soared into the air as Wang Hao sidestepped the gang’s attack with lightning speed; no one even caught a glimpse of his movement.
Heartened, Wang Hao briefly allowed himself to feel buoyed by delight, but soon regained his composure.
He had expended quite a bit of energy back at the gambling parlor, and he knew his current energy reserves wouldn’t hold out for long; he had to end this quickly.
With that thought, he lashed out aggressively, seizing the blond thug by the arm.
"Crack!"
A crisp sound of cracking bone rang out, and Blondie immediately let out a wail of pain, dropping the dagger to the ground.
Blondie, in so much pain that tears welled up in his eyes, clutched his broken arm and fell to his knees with a thud.
This terrifying scene instantly petrified the other hoodlums in place.
They hadn’t seen clearly how Blondie’s arm was broken, but his miserable state sent chills down their spines.
They’d met a tough nut to crack!
Ding Li was so shocked that his legs began to tremble involuntarily, completely unable to understand how this kid was so skilled.
Yet he still wasn’t ready to give up. He shouted at the hoodlums, "What are you standing there for? Get him! Don’t you want the money?"
Spurred by the mention of money, a few hoodlums’ eyes lit up, and they approached Wang Hao with renewed caution.
This time they changed tactics, attacking from front and back, not believing he could keep an eye on all sides.
"This is between Ding Li and me. If you don’t want to end up like him, come at me together," freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Wang Hao said, pointing at Blondie lying nearby.
He was deliberately intimidating the gangsters, knowing full well his own energy might not last much longer.
Seeing his imposing demeanor and then looking at Blondie lying on the ground wailing, the hoodlums were somewhat scared.
After all, Ding Li wasn’t likely to share much of the money with them, and they didn’t want to suffer the same fate as Blondie.
"Brother Ding, why don’t you take the lead, and we’ll follow closely behind!"
One of the gangsters, trembling, retreated backward, his voice quivering non-stop.
"A bunch of cowards, get lost!"
Ding Li, beside himself with anger, couldn’t help but curse them.
Chastised, the men hurriedly put away their daggers and ducked to the side.
They weren’t fools; the money wasn’t worth risking their lives for.
"Ding Worm, I think you’d better just write that IOU. Maybe then I’ll spare your life,"
Wang Hao said sternly, needing to force Ding Li to make a written admission to prevent any further deceit.
"Dream on!"
Ding Li would never compromise; he now not only planned to default on the debt but also to pocket Wang Hao’s money.
He thought that even if he offended Sun Lao Er, he could just leave this place and surely find somewhere else to live in peace.
With that thought, he charged at Wang Hao, full of fury.
"If you’re seeking death, then don’t blame me for not being polite,"
Wang Hao said coldly, fixing his gaze on the approaching Ding Li.
Just as Ding Li’s fist was about to strike, Wang Hao quickly raised his right foot and kicked toward Ding Li’s kneecap.
Accompanied by a flash of gold and a sharp crack, Ding Li fell to his knees before Wang Hao.
"Oh, there’s no need to pay me such respects,"
Wang Hao said mockingly.
With his hands planted on the ground, Ding Li, infuriated and embarrassed, looked up and let out a roar.
"I’m going to kill you today!" freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Just as Ding Li was about to rise and fight back, Wang Hao stepped forward and delivered a resounding slap to his right cheek.
"This slap is for your brother, for you not doing anything righteous and disgracing your family!"
After saying that, he slapped again, even harder.
"And this slap is for Cailian! For you causing trouble and bullying her and her daughter when she did nothing to you."
Ding Li was caught off guard, spitting out a mouthful of blood and clutching his burning face as he glared at Wang Hao.
Two slaps in and his vision was filled with stars, his head spinning, his body swaying.
It’s no wonder his family had cut ties with such trash, who was nothing but a burden at home.
But he was still defiant, tilting his head and hysterically shouting at Wang Hao.
"Fuck your mother!"
Wang Hao absolutely despised anyone insulting his family. Ding Li had done this more than once now, and Wang Hao’s patience had run out.
His eyes grew icy as he raised his leg, ready to kick Ding Li.
But just then, an explosive shout suddenly rang out.
"Stop! Police!"
