Chapter 65: A Proper Paranoid Outlook

As Sir Cut-n-Run and his cow companion, Sir Moo-Rlboro, were busy enjoying their day, Fate was in Shadow Spire Citadel, admiring his latest idea on how to waste his money. Ruby had mentioned that this was an essential trait for a real man like him to have. In an effort to outshine even the church, Fate converted yet another room into another indoor pool. But this pool was filled with countless amounts of melted gold crowns.

That’s right—using fire magic to sustain his new pool, Fate created the first of its kind: a liquid gold pool. Being immune to heat of any kind, the temperature of the liquid metal felt very relaxing on his sore muscles after his afternoon zombie love fest with Ruby and Amara. Not surprisingly, Amara was very into the undead play.

After walking out of his second pool and rinsing off any residual gold flakes from his body, Fate looked at himself in the mirror for the first time in a while. Something in his reflection made him stunned.

"Since when has my black hair had these shades of orange and gold in it? Could the power of the Phoenix be changing my body more than what the game originally showed?"

Fate knew that in the original story, Nimrod and his heroines were never able to meet Asmodeus and make a request of him, so this could be a development outside of the original story. Fate shrugged his shoulders after thinking about this, though it was not a big deal either way.

When Fate first came to Blissful Paradise, he was always very cautious and paranoid. In a sense, he still is, but he just literally looked in the mirror—he is not the same person as he was back then. In his last life, he was not immortal and did not have the power of immortal flames. Now, he is surrounded by magic and two very overprotective wives, so he is not too worried at this point.

Fate felt quite satisfied living off his wives. He heals them with his magic and his ten-foot pole. In exchange, they make sure that he can have plenty of fun in this life. This is the dream of all men. Fate sneered when he thought of all the men on Earth who would call him a fool for not taking over the world.

Please, he has beautiful wives who sleep with him whenever he wants. He has an immortal body and vast unlimited wealth that, for some unknown reason, seems to be growing more every day. He even lowered taxes on the commoners again. But the wealth still flows in. So, in summary, he lived every man’s dream of living in a sexual paradise.

He also has many more MILFs that will be joining his harem in the future. Then he can achieve one of his minor goals: having an orgy of legends—one of his many goals after coming to this world.

Leaving the shower room after his late afternoon monologue session—something that every man should learn how to do—he thought, "That’s right, try standing in front of your mirror tonight and rant off a monologue about creating your own harem of legends. It may just come true."

Fate made his way to find Ruby, since he had not spent much time with her in the last few days. Somehow, as if sensing his intentions, Ruby appeared right in front of him as he turned the corner. Fate smiled and ignored the feeling that somehow Ruby knew he was looking for her. Fate said to Ruby as he grabbed her hand,

"Ruby, we should spend some time together. So why don’t we go out for a horse ride? You can take Midnight out while I take Janus. We should be able to have some fun out in the countryside. Perhaps we should have a picnic date." freeweɓnovel.cøm

Ruby suddenly smiled and pulled Fate along with her as they went to the stables. Ruby said with a smile on her face,

"That’s a great idea. Let’s have a picnic while we are out on our date, Fate." freewebnσvel.cøm

When they arrived at the stables, Fate was surprised to see Shadow standing there with a picnic basket all packed up for them to take on their adventure. This made the newer, more confident Fate suddenly wonder if he is being watched. The answer to this question is at all times. But as Fate was wondering this, he simply shook his head and denied the idea.

In the end, his paranoia got the best of him, and he looked up on reflex at the ceiling. Was it just him, or does that shadow in the stable rafters look just like Amara? And since when did they have all these gargoyles with strange masks sitting on the inside of a building? Wait, was he really being watched? Fate was shocked out of his current funk.

Fate’s paranoid and cautious personality kicked back into overdrive, and he gulped down a terrifying thought. He almost became blindly overconfident—the one thing that leads to the downfall of all villains like him. Fate knows that he is too handsome to be defeated, so he flushed his ideas about being overconfident and worry-free down the latrine where tax dodgers can go to clean it up.

Fate was about to look closer, but just then, as if given some kind of signal, Ruby came over with the picnic basket and pulled Fate away from his observations. The "gargoyles" in the ceiling rafters made a collective sigh of relief, and Amara truly did appear from the shadows of the ceiling, looking at Fate along with an elite group of Blood Maidens and Dark Paladins.

Amara smiled in happiness. She may not be able to be publicly present for this picnic date, but she would still have just as much fun by watching Fate as she would being with him. All the guards Amara had with her wore strange masks to blend into buildings as gargoyles, among the many other costumes they kept ready, in order to keep watch over their master. Amara just used dark magic to make herself invisible. But it seems as if Fate almost noticed her. She needs to work on her husband-stalking technique more.

Amara, with this goal in mind, decided to seek out Ruby for more training later. Ruby is always watching Fate when he is not aware—it’s one of their favorite hobbies.

Looking at her subordinates, Amara gave a few hand signals, and they all quietly followed Fate as he left the stables on Janus, his prize horse.

Fate, riding by Ruby’s side, enjoyed the scenery of his city. As they made their way to the city gates, Fate noticed the presence of all kinds of vendors selling various things while wearing the color red. He could swear that they were looking at him as well.

Turning to look at Ruby with a curious gaze, Fate asked her,

"Ruby, is it just me, or are we being watched?"

Ruby, hearing this question, turned her neck to look at Fate and, with a big distracting smile on her face, said,

"Ha ha, Fate, you’re so funny. I’m sure you’re just imagining things."

Ruby was thinking that later on she needed to beat into the Faithful the meaning of the word subtle.
