After Fate had his morning constitutional with Ruby, he went to check on the progress of gold-plating his castle walls.
To his surprise, when he arrived, he noticed that all of the extremely attractive female construction workers were wearing various subtle shades of red among their tight green uniforms.
Fate recalled seeing this same shade of red on the ring of Sam from the Adventurers Guild. Fate figured that red must be the newest fashion trend among the women, so he did not dwell on it anymore.

Fate walked up to the workers and recognized Shadow as the one directing this project.
Shadow noticed her lord’s arrival and saluted him, saying, "My lord, what can I help you with today?"
Fate, with a look of wonder on his face, said to Shadow, "Shadow, where did you find all of this Black Obsidian Marble? This stuff should be almost impossible to find in this kind of quantity."
Shadow nodded her head in understanding and gave her lord a very simple answer. "My master, Ruby Valentine, dug a hole deep into the ground. When it was deep enough, she found this stone down there."
Fate struck a thinking pose as he considered this explanation. Damn, if that’s what Ruby did, then it would certainly make it very easy to find the Black Obsidian Marble.
"That answer honestly makes a lot of sense, so carry on with your work."
Shadow was dumbfounded by her lord not asking her why they were digging deep holes, so she asked Fate, "My lord, don’t you want to know why we are digging those holes?"
Fate shook his head and began to walk away before he said to Shadow, "I’m not curious at all, Shadow. I know better than to ask questions like that. Shadow, you can return to work now."
Shadow heard this statement as her lord very quickly disappeared down the hall in the opposite direction of her. Shadow did what she was told and went back to work. She yelled at her fellow Phoenix Rising sisters and said, "Alright girls, you heard our god, the Fire Lord. Bring in the second team with the giant oversized jewels to place them into the walls, then finish it with the gold paint murals."

Shadow loved these tunnels; they could get the cult wherever they need to go quickly and quietly. They are also great for carrying out assassinations. But Shadow stopped marveling at the cult’s growing network of tunnels and got back to work.
Fate felt happy to make his escape from Shadow. He was pleased with himself for following one of his golden rules: ignorance is bliss.
Fate found that half of Shadow Spire Citadel had already been replaced with Black Obsidian Marble and giant gems. Seeing so much of the regular stone that was made just a few days ago by the mages that Ruby hired made Fate sigh in wonder before he said, "Being the legendary MILF Hunter sure comes with some nice benefits."
That’s right, being the MILF Hunter that he is, Fate felt like his life is only going to become more opulent and ridiculous.
Eventually, Fate found himself in the stables where he saw Janus messing around with the beginnings of his own harem. Fate almost had his eyes fall out of his head when he saw the scene in front of him.
Fate, shocked, yelled at Janus, saying, "Janus, where the hell did you find that unicorn from, and why does it look so evil?"
That’s right, Janus has somehow gotten himself a corrupted female unicorn as his first harem member. A corrupted unicorn was once a pure-blooded white unicorn but became seduced by the power of evil and turned into an abomination in the eyes of all good and God-fearing people—a corrupted unicorn.
This unicorn is all black with a red mane and tail, with a gold-colored horn that it uses to cast shadow magic.
Fate fought one of these things in the Blissful Paradise video game one time. They are incredibly hard monsters to kill due to their magic and speed. Then Fate suddenly thought of Ruby. If she uses the power of shadow magic and this corrupted unicorn that showed up here can also use the power of shadow magic, then this horse must belong to...
"Fate, I see you found your way here to meet my horse Midnight."
That’s right, this voice belonged to Ruby Valentine. Fate turned around and said to Ruby as he grabbed hold of her, "Ruby, you should have told me you have such an awesome mount. Midnight looks so ominous and evil. She will blend in well here."
Ruby nodded her head and smiled, teasing Fate by saying, "It seems like your horse, Janus, has won over Midnight with his impressive skills. Just like you tamed me with your own impressive riding skills."
Fate loved Ruby’s vague innuendos and smiled as they left these two cursed horses alone.
Walking out of the stable, Fate was being bombarded with psychic images of Janus showing off his first harem member to Fate. Fate naturally ignored his show-off of a horse. Fate knew that Janus was going to be a perfect show-off just like him. He is just waiting for Fate to give him the opportunity to slap people in the face.
At this time, Ruby read a letter while standing by Fate’s side that was just delivered to her. When she read it, Ruby had a giant, haunting smile on her face.
Fate saw this smile and felt like trouble was coming his way, so he asked Ruby, "What’s with that smile, Ruby? I’ve never seen you smile so evilly like that before."
Ruby burned up the letter in her hand with her fire magic and looked at Fate, saying, "It seems that one of the letters I sent to my sisters has been received, and one of them has arrived in the city of Valoria with her shadow paladins as we speak. Let’s go and meet Amara Sterling. She is looking forward to meeting you."
When Fate heard this name, he immediately became alert. The Shadow Monarch has found her way to his city and wants to see him. Fate was caught between two great forces in his mind at this moment.
