When they reached the private room, most of the guests had already arrived. There were eleven people in total, except for Rachel, who had not shown up yet.
"He’s here. Why isn’t General Manager Rachel here yet?"
"Rachel’s business has been growing bigger and bigger lately. She’s even driving a Mercedes-Benz S now."
"No need to rush. She should be here soon."
"Victoria, I heard that an 18-year-old boy in your daughter’s class confessed to you. Is that true?"
Claire chimed in with a laugh, "Of course it’s true! Victoria looks good. At 36, she can still attract 18-year-old boys! Old Charles, you’re finished. You’re getting more and more competitors."
Victoria was 36 years old, but she was truly stunning. Like Claire, she still had many suitors even in middle age. Some people were even willing to give up their current families just to be with her. Such a beautiful and mature woman was rare.
Charles Whitmore simply smiled.
"The child is ignorant. Victoria, don’t take it to heart. Everyone has some adolescent fantasies when they’re young. Once that initial enthusiasm passes, it’s fine."
Damien sat down and poured himself a glass of Sprite.
"I think Liam is a pervert, a complete waste. How can he ask Victoria out in front of Olivia. A completely useless thing."
Young people tended to speak impulsively and without restraint.
"Damien, you’re not allowed to talk about your classmate like that!"
After Claire reprimanded him, Damien stopped talking. He was still quite afraid of his mother, because she had instilled strong authority in him since childhood.
"Actually, everyone probably has their own fantasies when they are young, but there are really not many like this guy who likes mature women and takes the initiative to confess. This is quite courageous."
Olivia felt a pang of sadness upon hearing this. Now, every time she heard Liam’s name, she was reminded of how he had confessed to her mother.
Victoria remained silent, but her impression of Liam had already deteriorated further. She was certain that this guy just wanted to sleep with her.
Today’s despicable tactics made it impossible for her to see value in him. Although, deep down, she still felt a trace of pity for him.
It was very hot outside. Liam waited for a long time, but Rachel still had not arrived.
"Is General Manager Rachel still coming? That’s my $50,000!"
It was getting dark, but even in the evening the July weather was unbearably hot.
After waiting another ten minutes or so, Liam decided he could not wait any longer. He suspected there might be a back door. If Rachel went to VIP Suite 999 through the back entrance, he would suffer a huge loss.
He took the elevator directly to the third floor.
The moment the door opened, the eleven people in the room looked at Liam with somewhat strange expressions. Most of them did not know him.
Victoria’s gaze toward Liam now held clear disgust. Sure enough, this kid had come for her.
He claimed to have done some projects and computer programming. What kind of programming could an 18-year-old high school student possibly do?"Why are you here?"
Just as Damien was about to send Liam away, Claire told him to wait.
"The person I’m waiting for hasn’t arrived yet, so I came to see if Rachel is here."
Victoria’s expression grew increasingly grim. This child was truly too immature.
Upon seeing Liam, Charles’s guard disappeared. If it had been a particularly handsome young man, he would have worried whether Victoria might be overcome with lust.
But this young man was only somewhat average-looking. There was absolutely nothing about him that could impress Victoria.
"Alright, alright. It’s so hot, and it’s already mealtime. Let’s sit down and have something to eat."
"Liam, there are plenty of empty seats here. Who would you like to sit with?"
Claire said somewhat jokingly. She could say she admired this young man quite a bit.
After all, he was the first person brave enough to ask his classmate’s mom out in front of the whole class.
Liam didn’t say anything. He simply sat down next to Victoria.
Liam was not being coy. He did not know anyone else there either. As for Damien, they were already enemies. Needless to say, Olivia.
Charles looked somewhat displeased. Then he thought better of it. He was a man in his forties and could not possibly argue with a child. Otherwise, everyone would probably look down on him.
After Liam sat down, he had to start a conversation, if not it would be awkward.
"Victoria, what a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into you while I was here to collect the money."
He took a sip of coffee, then looked around. The room was awkwardly silent, but he didn’t care.
His gaze landed on Claire. The more he looked at Damien’s mother, the more beautiful he found her.
Her figure was something any true connoisseur would dream of. How come he had never noticed in his past life that his classmates’ mothers were all so stunning?
"Yes, it’s quite a coincidence."
Victoria felt she could delete Liam’s Telegram account. This kid was anything but innocent.
Hearing Victoria’s somewhat indifferent voice, Liam felt a sting of sadness. ’It seems like Victoria really dislikes me.’
His expression did not escape Victoria’s notice, but she only felt more annoyed. This kid was just pretending to be pitiful and using childish tricks.
He simply wanted to vent his youthful hormones on her.
At this moment, Rachel walked in from outside.
Everyone greeted him warmly. "Boss Rachel! You’ve finally arrived! We’ve been waiting for you for so long!"
Rachel greeted everyone with a smile. Then he turned to Liam and said, "Young man, here’s your $50,000. Take it."
Rachel took out two thick envelopes filled with hundred-dollar bills. This left Liam momentarily speechless, as cash was still very popular ten years ago. He had already set up online banking, yet Rachel had given him $50,000 in cash.
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Rachel with surprise."Rachel, do you know this young man?"
"Of course. To be honest, this young man named Liam, although he is only 18 years old, is a genuine genius. If it weren’t for him, my company would be in real trouble."
