Chapter 1075: Chapter 429: Discovery in the City_3

Everything was going smoothly. With Zhou Tian’s ability, his infiltration into the enemy’s main city was almost undetectable to the NPCs and players, especially given that the Beastman Large Army outside the city had already drawn their attention. Under such circumstances, Zhou Tian snuck into the city almost without incident. Even when he jumped over the City Wall and infiltrated a Residential House, he wasn’t spotted.

"Time to add a little spice!" Although he had no intention of occupying the city, Zhou Tian was quite willing to cause trouble for the NPCs. After entering the city, he missed no opportunity to create trouble. Upon sneaking into a house, first to cause issues for the NPCs and second to muddle the city’s strategic situation for his own benefit, Zhou Tian immediately set up a spatial teleportation array inside the house.

Following Zhou Tian’s action, it didn’t take long before a large number of Beastmen burst forth from the Residential House where he was hiding. The Beastmen wasted no time; as soon as they emerged from the house, they wreaked havoc within the city.

House after house was torn down, NPCs were killed one by one, even though they had never anticipated such an event. When so many Beastmen suddenly appeared within, the majority of the NPCs and players still had their Attention drawn away.

In such dire straits, not to mention the NPCs being unaware of Zhou Tian’s existence, even if they did know, it is doubtful they had the Energy to pay him any heeding.

As a result, Zhou Tian’s ploy granted him the freedom to move about the city at will.

Eventually, Zhou Tian kept searching for anything within the city that might be related to the players’ New Ability. After about ten minutes of exhaustive search, he finally found a Domain that seemed to be the source of a Divine Corpse changed by player influence.

Zhou Tian was fairly certain that the Divine Corpse originated from that spot mainly because, upon arriving there, he saw that an NPC had a massive Teleportation Channel opened behind them. While all other NPCs were busy dealing with the Beastmen inside and outside the city, that particular NPC remained completely unresponsive—a highly suspicious situation, to say the least!

Creating a Teleportation Channel was no joking matter; it was a hundred times more difficult than setting up a teleportation array. Furthermore, once such a Teleportation Channel was established, it became directly connected to its other end. While it was convenient for daily use, should Hostile Forces appear at the other end, it couldn’t be closed off as easily as a teleportation array.

Thus, setting up a Passage outside was one thing, but inside the city, it couldn’t help but arouse suspicion. Didn’t the NPCs fear that enemies would pour through the channel and overrun their castle? Clearly, there had to be a reason behind the NPCs’ current setup.

Given the changes in the players and the odd behavior of the observing NPC, Zhou Tian had no doubt about the Teleportation Channel’s significance. He was even eighty percent sure that it had a great Relationship with the players’ newly acquired abilities.

So, having discovered the channel, Zhou Tian made his Decision; he had to investigate that Passage no matter what. However, doing so meant facing some Problems.

The NPC guarding it was something he couldn’t ignore.

The Power Systems of NPCs and players were different, meaning there were differences in their Combat methods and strengths. But while their powers were distinct, Zhou Tian could still sense that the NPC—if he was not mistaken—was probably a Demigod.

A Demigod! In terms of power, this Opponent wasn’t much different from Zhou Tian, and he wasn’t too confident about defeating such an Opponent under their watchful guard. It would certainly not be easy for Zhou Tian to enter the Passage.

Nevertheless, pinpointing the source of the players’ new abilities was too important for Zhou Tian, so much so that even without confirmation that the Passage led to where the Divine Corpses were stored, upon sighting it, he resolved to take the risk.

Opportunities like this were rare. If the players’ actions hadn’t forced the Monsters into a corner with no other way out, Zhou Tian wouldn’t have been able to easily gain the loyalty of so many Monster Forces. In the end, he not only acquired a Monster Army but also lured away a significant portion of the city’s NPC forces.

If given a chance to start over, Zhou Tian wasn’t sure the NPCs would still make the same Response. Any change on their part would mean Zhou Tian likely wouldn’t have the same Opportunity as he did now.

Thus, from any perspective, there seemed no alternative for Zhou Tian at that moment; he had to force his way through the Spatial Passage, willingness aside. ƒreewebɳovel.com

As for the Demigod NPC, while indeed a Threat to Zhou Tian and not someone he was confident about defeating, Zhou Tian never planned to engage him directly. He just wanted to breach the Passage, and he was confident that the Demigod wouldn’t be able to stop him.

And so, Zhou Tian quickly took Action.

"Charge!" With a silent shout in his heart, Zhou Tian suddenly accelerated and, breaking away from the Monster Team, charged directly toward the Passage. (To be continued.
