Chapter 2422: Chapter 2398: Open for Business

The unexpected improvement in relations with Said, who replaced Lavagani, made everyone’s lives in Satan much more peaceful in the days that followed.

With no urgent need to intervene, Sana’a was already in chaos, with small-scale battles occurring in every corner daily. In this situation, Satan’s task was to stay safe in the camp they had seized.

Hadi was at a disadvantage, but he hadn’t completely lost Sana’a, nor had the Houthis Armed Forces captured him. Barring any major surprises, this battle for Sana’a would drag on for months, which was quite normal.

However, given that this was a civil war involving many countries, it was unlikely there would be no major changes.

Iran ramped up its efforts. While Satan continued training the Dagger Assault Team they currently commanded, Iran’s actions were more extensive and direct.

Tehran directly dispatched a large number of soldiers, with at least a thousand Iranian soldiers operating in Sana’a, delivering a substantial amount of arms to the Houthis Armed Forces, and conducting extensive and widespread training for them. Although the training period was brief, the results were significant.

Iran exerted its strength, and Saudi Arabia did too, but Saudi Arabia’s efforts were not as evident as Iran’s. Thus, the situation for the official government represented by Hadi was becoming increasingly dire.

Finally, Hadi left Sana’a, but the outcome surprised everyone. Hadi indeed attempted to flee to Saudi Arabia, but for some reason, likely due to Saudi Arabia’s rejection, Hadi, along with the majority of the current government’s officials, fled to Aden and established a temporary government there.

Hadi established a temporary government in Aden, showing a posture of fighting the Houthis Armed Forces to the bitter end.

A month after Lavagani’s departure, Sana’a finally fell completely into the hands of the Houthis Armed Forces.

Yemen officially entered a full-scale civil war, with the Government Forces and Houthis Armed Forces deadlocked, neither capable of defeating the other in the short term. Iran had already semi-openly intervened, and Saudi Arabia had long since intervened in the Yemeni civil war, though without deploying troops. Overall, the situation Gao Yang longed to see had materialized.

Of course, the chaos in Yemen had little to do with Gao Yang, and he lacked the ability to influence the Yemeni situation in the direction he desired. The current situation was naturally shaped by the power struggles among various forces. However, the crucial point was that Gao Yang’s initial goals in Yemen had officially been achieved.

The initial aim was to invest heavily, but it was also the easiest goal to achieve. Satan’s purpose in Yemen was to steer the Yemeni situation in the needed direction. Therefore, being in Yemen was not essential.

In other words, as long as Saudi Arabia awarded the Solar System Company a significant contract, enabling the company to earn massive profits from the Yemeni civil war, Satan would immediately withdraw from Yemen.

The current issue is that while Saudi Arabia is certain to send troops to Yemen, they have yet to decide whether to use their national army or mercenaries for combat.

The most troublesome issue is that although Saudi Arabia indeed uses mercenaries to carry out tasks inconvenient for their army, they currently do not choose the Solar System Company.

Lately, Gao Yang had been making numerous phone calls daily, but when a definitive message finally came from the Saudi side today, it was not the positive news he had been expecting.

"Are you saying Saudi Arabia has decided to use an Australian PMC company rather than us?"

"Yes, the Australian company is called United Resources, with its headquarters in Dubai. Their background, especially their relationship with Saudi Arabia, makes it almost impossible for us to compete. I’ve received confirmation that, barring major surprises, the first big contract will belong to this company."

Gao Yang scratched his head and sighed helplessly, "This was expected. As a new company, our competitive strength is still lacking, which is understandable. So do we currently have no opportunities at all?"

Abdul replied solemnly, "No, we still have opportunities. At least we’ve secured an order. I’ve maintained good relations with some influential figures in Saudi Arabia. We’ve actually received our first business."

"Oh, we have business already?"

"Yes, Saudi Arabia assigned us a small contract to provide security services for some critical departments in Aden. The contract amount is fifteen million dollars for six months, requiring only fifty personnel."

Gao Yang exhaled, "It really is a small contract, just a security job? But the price isn’t low. With each person’s monthly salary at twelve thousand US dollars, that’s six hundred thousand in salary expenses per month. Coupled with our operating costs, we can at least earn one million US dollars in profit each month. Conservatively, this business could earn six million dollars."

"Yes, at least six million dollars."

Gao Yang punched the air, relieved that although they didn’t land a major contract, they’d still started business. Just forming a connection with Saudi Arabia was a great start for collaboration.

"Very good, fantastic, much better than I expected. At least we’ve made a start. So how big is the contract that United Resources secured?"

"The total value is one hundred and twenty million dollars, covering training, security, and some combat missions. From what I understand, United Resources’ contract requires only up to three hundred people and lasts for just three months. Their costs will by no means exceed twenty million dollars, so this venture will earn United Resources a pure profit of at least one hundred million dollars."

Gao Yang was taken aback and then awkwardly said, "That’s indeed a big business. One must admit, Saudi Arabia’s money is certainly easy to earn."

Abdul added, "Currently, we are unable to seize this contract from United Resources. I can only try to obtain more contracts."

Gao Yang laughed, "Don’t rush, take it slow. Now isn’t the time for large-scale warfare, so what appears to be a substantial contract now might not seem as appealing later."

"I understand. The good news is Saudi Arabia isn’t currently looking to collaborate with super large PMC companies, so we aren’t facing exceptionally strong competitors. Additionally, I might adopt a strategy of accepting numerous small orders, accumulating little by little, and ultimately achieving considerable returns."

"Go ahead with your approach. I’m already content with the current progress. I believe you’ll do even better. By the way, how’s the recruitment going?"

"Very smoothly, as long as we have tasks, we’ll definitely have enough excellent personnel. You don’t need to worry about that. In fact, we’re currently in contact with too many employees. My concern is the trouble of not being able to provide work opportunities in a short time."

"Alright, this concludes our conversation, old friend. You’re doing a great job. I’m waiting for your next piece of good news."
