Chapter 2406: Chapter 2382: Operation Rescue the Idiot
Notify the members of Satan to prepare suitable equipment, as anti-hijacking operations have many requirements for weapons and gear. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Anti-hijacking operations and hostage rescues are basically the same thing, but sometimes they’re quite different. For instance, if hostage-takers have seized one or several regular people versus a VIP, the rescue will naturally be different.
No one will say there’s a difference, but different is different, and anyone with a brain can figure out why.
Hostage rescue battles are difficult to fight because if all enemies are eliminated but the hostage dies, it’s a complete failure. Therefore, when it comes to anti-hijacking operations, countries generally choose specialized units and often prefer police forces over the military for hostage rescues.
In terms of both equipment and tactics, hostage rescue is completely different from regular special operations. Satan is a purely offensive team; they’ve fought various battles, but they’re not specialized in hostage rescues.
However, Satan does have a wealth of experience in hostage rescues, especially in their early days. All the main members have been involved in hostage rescue battles, particularly the rescue of Bob, which was a classic anti-hijacking operation.
Nowadays, Satan has grown significantly in numbers, and they’ve recently had another hostage rescue operation in Italy, where they saved Gao Yang and Rafael from the Cicero Family.
Moreover, Satan has conducted numerous similar hostage rescue missions, like rescuing Angel in Ukraine and freeing the Green Terror Organization in the South American jungle. Although these don’t count as hostage rescues since Angel resisted after being trapped rather than being tied up and completely helpless, they did pierce through enemy lines to get people out, so Satan has a lot of experience in anti-hijacking operations.
Satan is clearly experienced, yet their choice of weapons makes them seem like total rookies, the rookies of rookies.
"How many Cloud Burst Bombs do we have left?"
"Over twenty."
"Bring them all! We need them to break through; having fewer might not be enough."
"What other heavy weapons are portable for us?"
Tommy stepped forward and whispered, "Boss, the 107 rocket launcher!"
Gao Yang waved his hand and said, "Bring it, bring it, and bring more rockets."
After speaking with Tommy, Rebrov quietly said, "Our artillery can move in closer for direct fire, Boss; should we use them as tanks?"
Gao Yang hesitated but eventually shook his head and said, "No direct fire, stick with indirect fire."
"Then I’ll move with you to provide accurate data and guidance for the artillery at any time."
Gao Yang thought for a moment, then addressed the assembled crowd, "Time is tight; we can’t let Lavagani be taken away at any cost. The Government Forces are pressing hard, and Houthis Armed Forces’ blockade could be broken at any moment. If Lavagani is taken away by the enemy, we don’t even need to discuss the consequences."
Frey couldn’t help but ask, "How could Lavagani have been captured alive?"
Satan quickly assembled, and then Gao Yang told them they were going to rescue Lavagani, but he didn’t have time to explain why Lavagani was captured alive.
Salim, standing aside, said weakly, "I think it might be related to your conflict during the day. Morale is very influential, and Lavagani was eager to save face in front of his subordinates and was positioned too far forward when commanding."
Gao Yang shrugged, checked his watch, and loudly declared, "Turtle, Cobra, you two command the Dagger Assault Team, responsible for breaching. We’ll carry out the final assault ourselves. It’s been forty-five minutes since Lavagani was captured. We depart immediately; specific tactics will be devised on-site once we arrive. Move out!"
Everyone immediately ran to the vehicles and began heading to the battlefield.
Usually, after entering combat mode, Gao Yang wouldn’t engage in unnecessary chatter with irrelevant personnel. But today was different, as Salim was accompanying them, requiring some words of instruction.
"Your weapons don’t seem prepared with rescuing Lavagani in mind. I may not be adept at warfare, but I understand that things like Cloud Burst Bombs and rockets aren’t suitable for hostage rescue; rather, they are better for killing... well, you get my drift."
Salim didn’t quite have the nerve to say the rest, but Gao Yang bluntly said, "They’re suitable for murder and silencing witnesses. There’s nothing unspeakable about it."
Salim let out a couple of nervous chuckles.
Gao Yang spread his hands towards Salim, helplessly saying, "Brother, if we can rescue Lavagani, we absolutely will. But if we can’t, or if it’s impossible, do you think it’s more suitable for Lavagani to be taken away, or to die inside?"
Salim wiped his forehead and quietly responded, "Even for the Iranians, the consequences of Lavagani being taken away are unacceptable. I understand. Uh, just go ahead. In any case, Lavagani can’t be taken away alive. I understand; everyone can understand that."
For Gao Yang, Lavagani absolutely can’t fall into enemy hands alive, so he must be rescued. Of course, if Lavagani dies, isn’t that practically the same as rescuing him, right?
The convoy quickly approached the Presidential Palace. After Gao Yang and others got off, they ran forward quickly and stopped at the Iranian line.
"What’s the current situation!"
Lavagani had a deputy who was the real combatant and the commander here.
"We’ve been trying to break in, but it’s difficult! The enemy’s combat strength is strong, and their resistance is very fierce!"
Lavagani’s deputy appeared extremely anxious, shouting at Salim, "The situation here is not at all what you said! Not at all! How did you manage this intelligence? You must be held accountable for the failure here!"
Salim did not meekly accept the blame. He loudly replied, "The intelligence came from your agents, and our intelligence was directly ignored. Now you’re blaming us for inaccurate intelligence?"
"Enough!"
Halting their argument, Gao Yang sternly said, "We’re responsible for rescuing Mr. Lavagani. You cooperate by having your people retreat. I’m about to commence shelling."
"Shelling? Are you joking about blowing up Mr. Lavagani along with everything else?"
"Shelling, then we rush in to rescue Lavagani, or we evacuate immediately. You choose whichever you want. I don’t care. You have two options."
Having just fought with an opponent earlier in the day, Gao Yang had no pleasantries to offer. He directly threw down two options for them to choose.
"Do you have confidence?"
Lavagani’s deputy capitulated immediately, while Gao Yang coldly replied, "The chances of him surviving are slim, but his death is almost certain. It depends on his luck. We’re beginning the operation now, step aside."
After making the Iranians move to clear a path and position, Gao Yang gestured with his hand and loudly declared, "Operation Idiot Rescue officially begins!"
