Chapter 676: Chapter 676 You’ve Caused Trouble
When Ye Xiu emerged from the Jin Ye City airport, he immediately spotted Gong Jin waiting outside, wearing a mask and a baseball cap.
"Let’s talk in the car," Ye Xiu said.
"Yes!" Gong Jin nodded and promptly led the way.
Once they were in the car, Ye Xiu asked, "Where did Qing Luan and those Official Family Martial Artists go?"
"The Eight Great National Protector War Gods, the original Official Family Martial Artists, and all the Martial Artists from the thirteen external families went straight to Zhaolu Farm right after they arrived in Jin Ye City. The farm isn’t far from the airport. They haven’t come out since," Gong Jin reported.
Ye Xiu was puzzled. "What are they doing at a farm?"
Gong Jin shook his head. "I don’t know. My people can’t infiltrate it, and no one is answering their phones when we call the Eight Great National Protector War Gods or the thirteen external families. However, after they went into Zhaolu Farm, all the employees and residents there were driven out."
"Driven out?" Ye Xiu was even more confused.
"Yes. Those people made a huge fuss about it for a while, but they were all forcibly expelled. The area around the farm is now under lockdown, guarded by men with live ammunition. I went there myself. Those armed guards are clearly not professional soldiers; they have to be Martial Artists."
This is a major incident... Ye Xiu’s eyes narrowed. The situation in Nanjing was already volatile, with the Mist Chant Martial Meeting approaching, the Restorer Alliance poised to strike, Qiao Beiming operating in the shadows, and the Eternal Kingdom gathering its forces. It was already chaotic enough. What kind of trouble are Qing Luan’s people trying to stir up amidst all this? And why of all places in Jin Ye City?
"Take me there. This is too strange. I need to see it for myself," Ye Xiu said.
"Alright!" Gong Jin nodded.
Zhaolu Farm was very close to the airport, and with Gong Jin’s fast driving, they arrived in no time.
Even before getting out of the car, Ye Xiu could see two young men armed to the teeth standing like posts at the farm’s entrance. Their posture is no better than a couple of bandits!
As Ye Xiu and Gong Jin got out of the car and started walking toward the entrance, the armed youths on either side immediately aimed their guns at them.
One of them barked, "This is a military restricted area! Don’t come any closer! Get lost!"
The remark confirmed Ye Xiu’s suspicion that the two youths were not members of the Official Family; otherwise, they would have recognized him. "I am Ye Xiu, a friend of the Eight Great National Protector War Gods," he said. "Please inform them that I’m here. I have urgent business with them."
"I don’t care who you are! Even if you were the Jade Emperor’s brother-in-law, you’re not getting in! Scram, before we shoot you dead for treason!" the armed youth shouted.
Ye Xiu and Gong Jin exchanged a look. Ye Xiu asked, "You’ve never heard my name?"
BANG!
The armed youth fired a shot at the ground by Ye Xiu’s feet and snarled, "Scram!"
So they really haven’t heard of me. Ye Xiu and Qin Qing were dumbfounded. Are these two armed youths aliens? To find people on Earth these days who haven’t heard the name Ye Xiu... it’s just unbelievable!
"I’ll say it again. I want to see the Eight Great National Protector War Gods. Please announce me," Ye Xiu said icily, his patience wearing thin.
"You’re asking to die!"
The two armed youths aimed their rifles at Ye Xiu, but before their fingers could squeeze the triggers, their vision blurred. A ghostly figure appeared before them—Ye Xiu—with his hands clamped around their necks. The next moment, they felt their entire bodies go limp, leaving them without the strength to even speak, let alone resist.
The two were terrified.
One of them stammered, "You... you dare attack Official Family personnel? That’s treason! Do you have a death wish?"
"Right now, I suspect you two are impersonating Official Family personnel with malicious intent!" Ye Xiu retorted coldly. He casually knocked both of them unconscious and turned to Gong Jin. "You wait out here. I’m going in to take a look!"
"Alright," Gong Jin nodded.
Ye Xiu entered the farm alone. Suddenly, an intense sense of crisis washed over him, and he instinctively leaped aside. A bullet struck the ground right where he had been standing. Based on its trajectory, it would have pierced his heart had he not moved.
A third-rate sniper?
"Enemy intrusion!" a high, piercing voice suddenly shouted.
Ye Xiu’s expression darkened. This perfectly good farm had been turned into something resembling a bandit’s den, and its defenses seemed quite strict. He immediately broke into a run, heading deeper into the farm. The sniper in the distance kept firing but couldn’t land a single shot. Ye Xiu’s speed was simply too great, and he never ran in a straight line.
However, as he ran, large groups of armed men swarmed in from the front and both sides. They were fast, clearly Martial Artists. More importantly, Ye Xiu recognized most of them. They were the 108 generals of the Red Flame Army who had undergone special training at Qiancheng Farm, as well as Martial Artists from the thirteen external families. But among them were a dozen or so faces he didn’t recognize.
"Sang Qiuyu, have you all gone mad? It’s me!" Ye Xiu shouted, stopping as he faced Sang Qiuyu, the captain of the Red Flame Army’s 108 generals.
"So it is Mr. Ye. This is a military restricted area, and outsiders are forbidden. Please leave immediately," Sang Qiuyu said, his face expressionless.
What is going on? They used to be so deferential, so why are they acting so cold now? Ye Xiu was bewildered. He also noticed that the other members of the Red Flame Army and the people from the thirteen external families wore the same cold masks, acting as if they didn’t know him at all.
"Have you all been hexed?" Ye Xiu asked.
Sang Qiuyu’s mouth twitched, as if he was fighting back a smile, but his expression quickly returned to one of cold indifference. "Mr. Ye, this is no place for jokes. Please leave immediately, and don’t make things difficult for me."
Ye Xiu could tell that Sang Qiuyu and his men were afraid of something. Is it those dozen or so strangers? Alright then.
Ye Xiu flicked his fingers repeatedly. In an instant, the dozen or so unfamiliar faces in the crowd surrounding him all collapsed, knocked unconscious.
"There," he said. "Now that there are no outsiders, can you tell me what’s going on?"
"Instructor, you’ve made a huge mistake! You shouldn’t have knocked them out," Sang Qiuyu said anxiously. "Go, quickly! Or you won’t be able to leave at all."
The other members of the Red Flame Army and the thirteen external families also had looks of panic on their faces.
This only made Ye Xiu more curious about what could possibly have happened to frighten these hardened men so badly. "You know who I am," he said. "With me here, who in this world could scare you to this extent?"
Sang Qiuyu hesitated for a moment before speaking in a rush. "The master of the Eight Great National Protector War Gods has appeared. The Official Family has appointed him as the supreme commander of all its Martial Artists. He’s incredibly powerful and extremely strict. If he finds out you knocked out his men, the consequences will be unimaginable!"
The master of the Eight Great National Protector War Gods? Ye Xiu’s interest was suddenly piqued. He had always been curious about who their master was, but whenever he asked, the Eight Great National Protector War Gods became incredibly secretive and stubbornly refused to say. To think this person would show up at such a critical time, and with the authority of the Official Family to command all their Martial Artists. Just how strong could this master be to terrify Sang Qiuyu and his men like this? After all, they know I’m Huang Quan.
"Just go!" Sang Qiuyu was sweating with anxiety.
Before Ye Xiu could respond, a chilling voice echoed from the distance.
"You dare strike my men? You won’t be leaving. I’ll have someone send your corpse directly to the crematorium."
