Chapter 7: A Student And His Instructor.
If looks could kill, Arianna would be dead on the floor. Aunt Freya and the lady standing next to her, who shared her exact face, stared at Arianna with pure hatred.
Arianna wondered if they were just jealous or if they actually wanted to be in her place. They should be happy that she was the one marrying their devil king, but their eyes said otherwise.
She forced herself to look away and focus on what was happening right now. Kane held her tightly in his arms, carrying her toward his tent to consummate their marriage.
Arianna wanted to fight it, but her own body was already betraying her. She looked up at his cold, handsome face as he carried her into the unknown.
The inside of the tent was warm. Candles glowed everywhere, making the space feel soft and welcoming.
It was her first time inside, and she was surprised by how beautiful it was. It did not have any of the modern things she was used to back in the West, but this rustic place had its own charm.
His bed was neatly made, taking up half the space, and a simple table, chair, and clothes stand filled the rest.
Arianna could not look around for long because she felt his eyes burning into her. She swallowed hard and looked away, her heart racing.
Her skin tingled everywhere they touched, and she could tell Kane felt it too. His entire body went rigid. Before she could even process the feeling, he lowered her down and pressed her body into the soft bed.
Everything was moving so fast. She had started all this just to get revenge on Ethan, but now her mind was blurring and she actually wanted this.
She had never shared a passionate moment like this with Ethan. In the beginning of their relationship, she allowed some kissing and touching.
But Ethan’s behaviour soon made it clear he did not care about romance, he just wanted to use her body. So, she stopped all intimacy and decided to wait until marriage. Now, in a twist of fate, she was married to Ethan’s father.
A soft moan escaped her lips as Kane shifted his massive weight and settled heavily between her thighs.
She had worried that a man his size would feel too big, but he fit against her perfectly.
Arianna spread her legs wider to welcome him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and slid her hands down his broad back, her fingers brushing over thick scars. She chose to ignore them, determined not to ruin the heat of the moment.
Kane buried his face in her neck, his warm breath brushing against her skin. A shiver ran through her body when his lips touched her neck. Her stomach fluttered wildly, and for a moment she felt as though she would melt right there in his arms.
"Kane," she whispered softly.
She tried not to sound too eager, but her body had already betrayed her. All she wanted was to stay close to him and enjoy the warmth of his embrace.
Then everything changed.
Instead of continuing, Kane suddenly turned her over until she was lying on her stomach. Before she could understand what was happening, his hand closed around the back of her neck.
His touch was rough now. He ripped the dress away from her upper body, then his hand moved lower as his large body pressed against her from behind.
"N-no, Kane!" Arianna cried out, finally understanding what he was trying to do. "I don’t want this."
There was no point fighting him. He was much bigger and stronger than she could ever be.
But the moment the words left her mouth, Kane stopped.
His hand loosened immediately. The pressure against her disappeared as he moved away from her.
Arianna quickly scrambled off the bed and turned to face him.
Her hair was a mess even though they had barely done anything. Part of her dress hung in shreds, exposing one side of her chest. Heat rushed to her face as she quickly pulled the torn fabric together and held it tightly against herself.
Silence filled the room.
"What happened?" Kane finally asked.
Confusion was written all over his face. One moment she had been responding to his kisses, and the next she was looking at him as though he had done something terrible.
"I won’t let you take my first time like I’m some animal," Arianna said.
The words came out before she could stop them.
Fear immediately followed. Maybe she should not have said that.
She had travelled all the way from the West to the South to marry him, knowing very well that he was a barbarian king. She knew his people followed old traditions and did things differently.
Kane’s brows slowly drew together.
He looked genuinely confused as he tried to understand what she meant. His blue eyes searched her face for an answer, and the innocent look on his face made her hesitate.
For a moment, Arianna found herself wondering if this was truly the same man everyone feared.
The same ruthless barbarian the stories spoke about.
Maybe the rumors had exaggerated the truth.
Because the man standing before her now looked less like a monster and more like someone who simply did not understand what he had done wrong.
"There was no foreplay and you wanted to go straight to doing it?" Arianna asked, clearly annoyed.
She crossed her arms over her chest, making sure the torn dress covered her exposed skin. Her heart was still racing from what had almost happened.
"You can’t do that with me. I am your wife, not an animal or some property you own."
"I never said you were my property," Kane corrected immediately.
Then a small frown appeared on his face.
"What is the meaning of that word you used? Fore..." He paused, waiting for her to finish it for him.
"Foreplay," Arianna supplied, trying to ignore the heat creeping into her cheeks.
"Yes. What does it mean?"
The innocent look in his eyes nearly made her laugh.
The feared King of the North looked completely lost.
Arianna stared at him for a moment, hardly believing what she was hearing. How could a grown man not know what foreplay was? More importantly, what had he been doing with women before her?
The thought made her shake her head.
"I can’t believe you don’t know what it is," she said with a sigh.
Taking a step closer, she decided to explain.
"Foreplay is everything that happens before sex. Kissing, hugging, touching, flirting, and making your partner feel wanted."
Kane listened without interrupting.
His expression remained calm, giving nothing away. Arianna could not tell whether he was learning something new or simply hiding his reaction.
"It helps both people feel comfortable," she continued. "It builds emotional connection and makes both partners ready. It is not just about the physical part. It is about making each other feel special."
Kane remained silent, his attention fixed completely on her.
"It also makes the experience better for both people," Arianna added.
"Anything else?" Kane asked.
His blue eyes were filled with genuine curiosity.
Arianna let out another sigh.
"Yes. It is about building trust, attraction, and excitement. You take your time with each other. You don’t rush straight into it like an impatient couple that cannot be bothered to show affection."
For the first time, Kane looked thoughtful.
It was as though she had just revealed a secret no one had ever bothered to tell him before.
"I never really thought about it that way," Kane admitted. "I always assumed women wanted me to get straight to the point and get it over with."
"N no," Arianna said quickly, shaking her head.
The very idea seemed to offend her.
"I wouldn’t want that. At least make it worth remembering."
A small smile tugged at the corner of Kane’s lips.
"Fine. Now that I know, I’ll keep it in mind. But how am I supposed to learn if I don’t have a teacher?"
Arianna’s heart skipped a beat.
Slowly, she stepped closer until only a small space remained between them. Every movement made her nerves dance beneath her skin. She loosened her grip on her torn dress and pressed herself lightly against him.
Kane’s hands moved to her waist almost immediately, as though they belonged there.
Arianna lowered her head until their faces were only inches apart.
"How about I become your instructor?" she asked softly.
"I agree."
A mischievous smile appeared on Kane’s face.
"Good," Arianna whispered.
She leaned closer and brushed her lips against his ear.
"Then be a good student. Pay attention and make sure you pass all your lessons."
Kane drew in a slow breath.
Every little thing she did seemed to affect him in ways he had never experienced before. The sound of her voice, the warmth of her body, the confidence in her teasing words all stirred something powerful inside him.
For a man who had always prided himself on control, remaining calm suddenly felt like the hardest task in the world.
And Arianna knew it.
The sparkle in her eyes told him she was fully aware of the effect she was having on him.
For the first time that night, Kane wondered if perhaps the student was not the only one learning a lesson.
