Chapter 25: A Gorilla Called Me a Boiled Egg

Nuan looked straight up at this seven-foot-tall, five-hundred-pound giant of a Gorilla beastman.

He stared right back down into her eyes, raised one massive hand halfway in an incredibly lazy gesture, and rumbled in a heavy, manly voice. "Ayee!"

Without even thinking, Nuan raised her own hand and copied the exact same gesture right back. "Aye!?"

Her eyes traveled from the top of his head all the way down his massive, bulky, mountain-like frame.

What the actual fuck! she screamed internally. Never once in my entire life did my niece ever mention a gorilla beastman in any of her transmigration web novels! Is this a brand-new expansion pack?!

[ Isn’t this beastworld cool, Host? ]

[ In front of you is a high-grade member from the Silverback Clan. ]

[ Potential mate detected! ]

[ Collect him, Host! Build your ultimate harem! ]

Are you completely stupid?! Nuan hissed back at the screen. Look at the logistical size difference between him and me, and at least have some loyalty! What about Kael?! Not that I actually take Kael as a mate, but still!

While Nuan was completely distracted arguing with the system, the Gorilla beastman didn’t waste any time.

He reached out with his huge, thick hands, grabbed her around the waist, and pulled her right up against his solid chest.

"Ayee! I like you!" he declared, his heavy voice vibrating against her. His rough hand traveled down her arm, squeezing the skin. "You look like a boiled egg. Such smooth skin!!"

"Bwwaa!!! Don’t touch me!" Nuan snapped, her survival instincts kicking in. She planted both her hands on his chest and shoved with all her might, but it was like trying to push a brick wall.

When his hand started traveling lower down her back, Nuan’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Ugh, you asked for it now!

Ignoring the throbbing in her ankle, she balanced all her weight on her good leg, brought her injured leg’s knee up with as much violent force as she could muster, and launched it directly into his family jewels.

With a sudden, agony-filled scream, the giant Gorilla beastman instantly let go of her, stepping backward as his hands flew down to protect his ruined assets. Within seconds, he folded completely in half, turning into a miserable, groaning curve ball right on the dirt.

"What a weirdo! Don’t you dare touch me again or I will literally rip them off!" Nuan sighed, wiping her hands on her cargo pants. freewebnoveℓ.com

Just then, the dry brush behind her rustled loudly, and a fat, frantic hare burst out of the grass, running straight toward her.

Oh, seems like this one managed to escape Kael’s hunt, Nuan thought instantly.

Acting on pure instinct, she whipped out her hunting knife from behind her waistband, gripped the tip of the blade, and launched it forward.

The knife spun seamlessly through the air—thwack!—and stabbed the hare perfectly right through the head.

"Bulls-eye!" Nuan chirped, pumping her fist in the air.

She turned to hop over and retrieve her kill, but behind her, the Gorilla guy was already dragging himself back up onto his feet, his face twisted in pain and anger. "Ayee!! Get back here! Do you even know who I am?!"

Nuan didn’t even bother turning around fully. She just looked back over her shoulder, completely unimpressed. "A weird, creepy, disgusting dude who apparently doesn’t even know his own name. Go find a mirror."

Frustrated, the gorilla beastman stood tall and started aggressively thumping his massive chest with his fists.

Nuan hopped over, grabbed the dead hare, and yanked her knife out of its head, wiping the blade clean. "Ugh, isn’t that literally how gorillas attract their mates? Seriously, I just kicked your stupid bone, get your ass somewhere else!"

The Gorilla beastman stopped thumping, staring at her in absolute shock. "You... you eat meat?!"

"Yeah, got a problem with that?" Nuan snapped, tucking the knife back into her waistband. "I’m an omnivore, I can eat anything. So go away, you vegetarian creep."

The gorilla’s eyes widened, a sudden look of deep respect washing over his heavy face. "I don’t mind. Be my mate."

"Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?" Nuan asked, totally exasperated. She started doing wild, dramatic sign language as she spoke. "Are you deaf or something? Hooo hooo? Ooo ooo? Do I literally need to speak to you in hooting language now? Get out!"

"No!" he declared stubbornly, taking a heavy step closer to her.

But before he could reach her, the tall grass exploded outward. Kael leaped out into the clearing, his massive wolf jaws holding four dead hares by their ears.

He dropped the prey onto the dirt with a bloody thud, instantly inserting his giant silver body directly between Nuan and the gorilla, his fur bristling with lethal intent.

But to everyone’s absolute surprise, before the gorilla could even react to the wolf, a massive, thick snake tail slid out of the shadows and coiled tightly around the gorilla’s waist.

Eryx, in his half-beastman form, emerged seamlessly from the brush. He glided up from behind, wrapping one pale, muscular arm casually around the gorilla’s massive shoulders.

The gorilla guy immediately tried to free his arms, but Eryx’s constricting grip pinned them completely to his sides.

"Ah... a struggling one excites me so much more," Eryx whispered directly into the gorilla’s ear, his slit pupils gleaming as his tail tightened like a steel vise around the giant’s middle. "My, my... it has been a while since I have coiled someone so muscular. Usually, the smaller ones just easily die from a total block of blood circulation by now. Should I start getting serious? After all... you were bothering my favorite customer."

"Akhh!! Aye, let go of me!" the gorilla choked out, his face turning purple as he struggled against the python’s insane crushing strength. "I didn’t know this boiled egg had two terrifying mates already! I’m leaving, alright! Let go!"

"Hmm... what a remarkably smart guy you are," Eryx whispered smoothly.

He slowly uncoiled his massive tail, loosening his grip just enough to let him free. The moment his arms were loose, the Gorilla beastman didn’t even look back; he turned right around and ran away into the plains as fast as his legs could carry him.

Kael let out a fierce growl. With a swift puff of smoke, he fluidly transformed back into his human form, his golden eyes flashing angrily as he turned to Nuan. "I told you to stay right there and not move!"

"I’m sorry! There was a massive cloud of dust in the air when you were chasing the hares, I couldn’t see anything," Nuan explained, turning her attention over to the snake beastman. "And Eryx... thank you for the help back there. Seriously, even I didn’t see you coming!"

Eryx glided forward, a calm, elegant smile playing on his lips. "I don’t call myself Eryx the Silent Coil for no reason, beautiful Nuan."

Ding!

A blue screen popped up in her vision.

[ Countdown: 00:00:00 ]

[ Silent Walk Ability cooldown: 30 minutes ]

[ Cooldown: 00:29:57 ]

Ugh, I almost wasted my stealth stamina for absolutely no reason, Nuan thought, batting the screen away.

Kael, still growling defensively at Eryx, stepped right in front of Nuan to block the snake’s view. "Why are you even out here? Why are you following us?"

"Oh, me?" Eryx murmured, his long tail resting lazily on the grass. "I happened to be nearby. I was heading to the Roaring Crossroads myself."

"Oh, we’re going right back there too!" Nuan said, peeking out from behind Kael’s broad shoulder. "What are you going to the market for?"

"For venom...!" Eryx whispered, his voice dropping into a dark, mysterious tone.

Kael let out a loud, mocking snort. "What a shameful snake he is, Nuan! A snake who actually has to buy venom from another snake because his own mouth is useless!"

"No, Kael, stop making fun of him!" Nuan snapped, delivering a sharp elbow to the wolf’s ribs. "Not every snake is venomous! Don’t you know basic biology? Like Anaconda and Python flocks!"

She paused, looking down at the beautiful, dark geometric patterns on Eryx’s massive tail. "And judging by your pattern, Eryx... you seem to be a Reticulated Python flock, right?"

Eryx’s eyes flared with genuine surprise. "What a total genius," he said, a smooth, fascinated smile spreading across his face. He glided a bit closer, deliberately brushing past Kael.

"Otherwise, there are so many fools in this world who don’t understand that not all snakes are the same." His tone was completely calm, yet dripping with a heavy, mocking insult aimed straight at the wolf.

Kael let out a ferocious growl, his claws extending, but Nuan quickly grabbed his arm, pulling him back with all her strength. "Control your logistics, Alpha!"

She turned back to the handsome python. "Worry not, I got your back, Eryx. But why do you actually need venom though? Your type always just coils and swallows the prey whole, right?"

"Yes," Eryx said, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "I just wanted to buy some venom to help my fellow, smaller snake cousins who rely on it."

"Wow... that’s actually really kind of you," Nuan said, her impression of the snake skyrocketing.

Hearing her praise another male, Kael’s fluffy wolf tail instantly drooped down. His happy wiggling completely stopped, hanging low with a sudden, tragic sadness as he glared miserably at the floor.
