Soon, the rich, savory aroma of roasted meat filled the entire clearing. The wolves’ noses twitched, and everyone started sniffing the air like crazy.
"Witch! Is this ready to eat yet?" one young wolf asked, drooling onto the grass.
Nuan glanced down at his skewer from her high perch on Kael’s shoulders. "Not yet, impatient toddler. Let the logistics do their work. Keep it over the heat for a bit longer."

One by one, as the meat finished roasting and Nuan answered all their burning questions, the wolves took their very first bites.
Instantly, their eyes went completely wide. Their brains practically short-circuited from the enhanced taste.
The next second, the entire pack went feral. They started devouring the meat like absolute monsters.

"Witch!" Koda trotted over to Nuan, proudly holding up two skewers of perfectly roasted meat. He offered them up to Kael and her.
Nuan closed the system screen mentally, looking down at the kid with a soft smile. "Aww, for me? How sweet of you, Koda!"
Before she could reach down, Kael snatched both skewers. He passed one up to Nuan, and Koda happily ran back to his group to finish his own food.
Both Kael and Nuan started munching on their skewers. The moment Kael got a taste of the roasted meat, his wolf instincts kicked in. He started ripping into it like a wild beast, tearing at the meat with so much force that his whole body shook—making Nuan wobble dangerously on his shoulders.
"Whoa! Calm down, big guy, the food isn’t going anywhere!" Nuan yelled, holding onto his hair while chewing her own food.
She glanced up at the top of the den cliff. Kael’s mother had also been given a massive piece of roasted meat. As she ate, she caught Nuan’s eye and gave her a firm, approving nod.
Nuan puffed her chest out proudly. Yeah, that’s right. Chef Nuan in the house.
Finishing the last bite, she threw her empty stick away and let out a massive, satisfied burp. "Huh! Wow. Now I actually feel good."
Suddenly, Kael turned around and started marching straight toward his sleeping den.
"Hey, are you going to nap again? Put me down then, I’m staying outside," Nuan said, tapping his shoulder.
Kael smirked, his eyes flashing with sudden heat. "No. I am feeling a lot of energy after eating that meat! It’s time for mating!" To prove his point, he tilted his head and licked her upper thigh, right next to his cheek.
Nuan wobbled and let out a high-pitched giggle, instantly smacking the top of his head. "Idiot! Don’t do that!"
But Kael was on a mission. As he walked into the dark mouth of the den, he didn’t stop. He clamped one huge hand around her soft, thick thigh and the other behind her waist. With one smooth, heavy lift, he flipped her right around on his shoulder, turning her from back to front.
Suddenly, Nuan’s groin was pressed right against the back of his neck and head. Through her tiny loincloth skirt, she could feel the hot, rapid puffs of air from his nose.
The sudden, ticklish sensation sent a violent jerk straight through her body. Panicking, she wrapped her arms tightly around his massive head, her torso burying into his hair.
Kael gripped her hips firmly with his hands, sniffing her deeply and letting out a hungry, low growl.
"Ack!!! No!" Nuan started throwing rapid, furious smacks onto his head. "Put me down! Put me down! Don’t sniff me there!"
But he didn’t even budge. He just rubbed his face against her upper thighs, completely determined.
"Ugh! You asked for it now!" Nuan yelled. She raised both hands in the air, launched them directly behind his fluffy wolf ears, and started scratching and digging her nails in aggressively.
Kael missed a step, a blissful shudder running through his massive frame. He kept walking, trying his absolute best to control his knees from melting from the premium scratch session.
But his breathing became even faster and heavier, making the hot air blowing against Nuan’s sensitive skin totally overwhelming.
Right before they stepped deeper into the dark den, Nuan froze. Her entire body tightened up.
She grabbed Kael’s hair at the back of his head with both hands, forcing him to tilt his face up to look at her.
"Put. Me. Down." she commanded, her face looking completely terrified.
"No! We are going to mate!" Kael declared stubbornly.
"You idiot, put me down right now! Hurry up!" Nuan snapped, her voice pitching higher.
"Why? You want to mate too! I can smell your wet—" Kael started, a smug look on his face.
But Nuan cut him off at maximum volume. "And if you don’t put me down right this second, you are going to smell poop too!!! Hurry up and put me down, my new digestive system works too well! I need to poop!"
Kael froze mid-stride, his eyes blinking blankly. "You want to poo—"
Nuan smacked his head one last time, her face red with a mix of embarrassment and absolute urgency. "Hurry up before you get a brown marking on your shoulder! Move!"
The absolute horror of her words finally penetrated Kael’s thick skull. He quickly and very gently set her down on the ground.
The moment her good foot touched the dirt, Nuan turned around and hopped away as fast as her one leg could carry her.
Using the rough den rock for balance, she scrambled frantically behind the privacy of the large cave rocks to finally take care of her business.
