Chapter 2921: 2921. Changes In Sight

"So you basically made a mini fire elemental plane that has most of what it really is inside of itself?" Remey was trying to understand why and how Walker had lessened the pressure on her while also changing the fire elemental plane.

They had already been the cause of a lot of change for it. Before they had encountered it, it was a triple elemental plane abstained and self sealed by rotating around in balance. Walker had broken that balance and condensed them while sealing it and attaching it to Remey. But now, it was even more different.

The small ball of flames would be confused for an attack or something created by magic if it wasn’t known that it was an entire elemental plane. But calling it miniature? That could be true and false.

It was much larger within since the space didn’t disappear, it wasn’t possible to Walker’s knowledge to destroy space or anything like that.

"It’s more about how I changed the space when I condensed it. I was trying to make it the same as a storage like I have, but there wasn’t enough strength and time in what i was doing. I wasn’t prepared to fully do that. I set a foundation though."

Walker could sense the crystal aspect of the core he had started to form and knew that he could keep pushing and improving it. He also understood by changing the majority of the area that the fire elemental alone would have taken up internal space like a spatial storage that he had changed the very essence of what kind of space it was.

"It’s only partially sealed though. I couldn’t keep the mana from leaking out so you have absorbed and countered the brunt of that mana." He felt bad since that pressure had put Remey through a harder time of it than he intended. He hadn’t even realized that there would be a backlash like that on Remey because of his actions.

"If you say sorry I will beat you to a pulp." She glared at him like she was going to eat him alive or stomp him in to the mud. It made Walker slightly taken aback since normally Remey would not be this honestly brutal with her words.

Yes she would tease and get rougher but that was the personality she had as a brawler.

"She doesn’t mean that, she is letting the dragon side of who she is now get control. Once she has rested even more she might be able to show off the actual skills she gained and not just the domineering aura and greedy arrogant side that is clearly stronger."

Su’s words earned another glare but Remey held herself back after a moment recognizing that this was all true. She hadn’t realized that she had lost a little control of herself. Then again, she had broken some limits while under pressure, it was natural that in a weaker state she would react with more instincts than logical thought.

"I get the illogical knee jerk desire to tell people they are weaker or smaller sometimes too. It’s dragon instincts to be arrogant and look down. That’s generations of being massive beings that can grow and hunt just about everything else around them. But it’s not how anyone actually feels." Su knew that if giving in to just those instincts and forsaking the intellectual side of things, then eventually a dragon would become a rogue dragon.

The party had dealt with this before and seen that after time those dragons often became nothing but monsters. Even losing the ability to even communicate in their innate language. It was even worse when it was a hatchling left in the wilderness and never properly taken care of.

Those times were gone though. The dragons cared for each hatchling under law. They also had the safety and ability to feed every hatching which would make it even more important over the generations as the grain race grew and branched out in ways they have never done so before.

"I think i defeated nearly seventy three monsters. plenty of monsters came looking for you two and that mini elemental plane. Apparently some monsters escape the elemental planes around here and go looking to hunt without being able to find their way home." Now it was both Remey and Walker’s turn to be confused about how Su knew this.

"I have all around appraisal scrolls. I used them as I defeated monsters. Those larger files over there? They are called flame feasting flies. They are from a small fire elemental plane that broke from its seal and dissipated. Now they live by finding unprotected fire elemental planes and consuming them while leaving behind eggs that hatch and worm through the entire area looking for fire mana to change form and then go feast again."

It was a casual explanation but evidence that nothing here was simple and easy. Especially since this place of waiting elemental planes was its own strange and hard to control ecosystem. But it also meant that these predators were prey too. That they would be hunted by other beings or monsters while they also traveled here. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Regardless, this was proof that the trio had made themselves plenty of drama here already. Shown off that they were leaving mana for others to follow and proof that they should move.

"Do you think you can travel right now?" Walker knew that Remey might need more time to rest and get back to what she could call a steady or stronger state.

"I should be fine. I won’t be able to fight up close and personal but if you let me use-"

"No, you can’t use your potions and break any elemental plane or monsters related to them. You can just be shielded by me until you are able to fight like usual." Su stopped her right there since she knew fully well that Walker and herself would need to clean up any mess related to whatever damage Remey created.

"Fine, then I will just drag along that heavy thing and watch you two have all the fun." Her huff was partially true but also showed some relief. Both Su and Walker could tell that the strain was still there but had lessened. However, Remey still needed time to adapt to the changes she came through when handling that larger pressure and mana flow from earlier.

It did show on her face that she liked the progress though. Walker could see her muscles showed a little more size and were defined compared to before. He could also see the spark in her eyes held a deeper flame than before. He was sure that if he probed her mana as he had before when matching the mana from the elemental plane to her to carry it that he would find her internal mana flow to be smoother and purer.

That wasn’t the concern right now though. He was more focused on the fact that she might be weaker physically to other manas and even the fire mana she naturally possessed affinity for might cause her harm. It was like having someone ask you to run a mile after you had just lifted the heaviest weight of your life with your legs. It couldn’t help you but would surely exacerbate injuries and even potentially cause you to fall unable to walk entirely.

"By the way, can you see fire mana by itself? Or do you see all the manas?" Remey had been clear on the fact that she could somewhat see the flow of mana, but normally for her, she did this through bonding with manas and the elemental spirit she had as a partner.

"I always see all manas. I just focus on one at a time, why?"

"I can see the fire mana, but I also see the different forms of fire mana now. There are very, very small hair sized wisps of fire mana all around us. I know they are being interfered with by other manas so following them is sort of tough, but I think I can do that better now too."

This was proof that Remey had gained even more control of her fire mana affinity as a whole. She could see different forms of fire mana she might not have been able to see or sense before.

"Then why don’t you act as a guide now. That way we can make sure we are ready for whatever we encounter. I need to study some other elemental planes and maybe we will meet another origin race member so I can learn a few things." Walker was not very optimistic of meeting another member of the origin race.

He was optimistic that they would learn something important by seeing whatever it was that Remey could now see very clearly. It was worth the try.
