Chapter 299: Chapter 299: A Little Surprise — Wanda and Levi (4)

Sunlight filtered through the blinds and spilled across the dining table.

Wanda, wearing a floral apron, flipped strips of bacon in a pan.

Levi sat at the table with an unopened newspaper in his hands.

"Honey, want to trim the roses today?"

Just as Wanda was about to answer, her expression suddenly changed.

The spatula clattered onto the stove as she bent over and retched.

A wave of dark crimson energy spread outward from her.

Outside, it was still late autumn, yet fresh green shoots burst from the yellowed lawn in the blink of an eye.

The withered red roses exploded with new branches and buds. The entire street seemed to leap from late autumn into full spring.

"Anthony, I don’t know what’s happening."

Wanda braced herself against the kitchen counter, sweat beading on her forehead.

"Something inside me feels out of control."

Levi walked to her side, steadying her by the shoulders while casually turning off the stove.

"Don’t worry. Maybe we were just a little too active last night."

His palm rested against her back as threads of dark-gold energy seeped into her body.

At first, he assumed it was merely a stress reaction from her Chaos Magic.

But when the power of his laws touched the core area within Wanda’s abdomen—

He froze.

It wasn’t an illusion.

Deep within Wanda’s lower abdomen, a mass of pure energy slowly rotated.

This wasn’t some fabricated life formed through sheer willpower.

It was a genuine singularity of reality itself.

It greedily absorbed Chaos Magic while resonating with the single-universe-level power Levi had left inside her.

Like a newborn miniature universe, it was growing within her body.

"Anthony?"

Wanda tightened her grip on his sleeve.

The dark-gold light vanished from Levi’s eyes, replaced by a smile.

"It’s nothing."

"Just a little surprise."

He swept her up into his arms.

"We may need to start preparing a nursery earlier than expected."

Wanda froze, one hand instinctively moving to her abdomen.

"Really?"

"More real than the springtime outside."

The doorbell rang.

Agnes pushed open the door, clutching a yellowed parenting handbook, her eyes darting around the room.

"Oh my, Wanda!"

Her voice was an octave higher than usual.

"Have you seen those roses outside? It’s practically a miracle! And look at you—you’re glowing like a ripe apple. Is there good news?"

Wanda smiled shyly, protectively covering her stomach.

"We think... I might be pregnant."

An exaggerated look of delight spread across Agnes’s face, but Levi saw clearly the faint purple glimmer of magic flickering deep within her pupils.

She hurried toward the couch, her wrinkled hand reaching for Wanda’s stomach.

"I knew it! This family handbook is specifically for unusual children—"

Levi stood and smoothly took the old book before she could touch Wanda.

"Thank you so much, Agnes."

Agnes didn’t withdraw her hand.

Her fingertips trembled slightly as a strand of dark magic slipped toward Wanda’s abdomen.

From her perspective, this was the most magnificent feast in the multiverse.

But the moment the spell entered a three-foot radius, it was as though it had slammed into an invisible millstone.

Levi had long since reconstructed the surrounding space into a one-way filter using alchemical laws.

Agnes shuddered.

Not only did her magic fail to steal anything, it actually began dragging the power out of her instead.

Levi casually handed Wanda a glass of orange juice.

"Here. Small sips."

Agnes’s face shifted from red to white, then from white to green.

Her magical power was being forcibly dismantled and purified into gentle energy, which Levi casually transferred into Wanda through his palm.

The centuries-old witch had effectively become a free magical massage therapist.

"Oh, I... I might not have eaten enough breakfast."

Agnes staggered backward, her hands trembling so badly she could barely hold her pamphlets.

"I should head home."

She practically stumbled out the front door.

Nestled in Levi’s embrace, Wanda sighed.

"She’s such a nice person."

"She is."

Levi’s gaze lingered thoughtfully on the doorway.

"Very useful."

"For the next few months, she’ll be providing quite a bit of support for this household."

His fingers moved subtly.

A small metal component inside his pocket dissolved and reformed into several runes, branding themselves onto the corners of a nearby crib.

The power harmonized with Chaos Magic, forming an invisible ward that isolated the house from outside observation.

"Who do you think the baby will take after?"

Wanda asked as she sipped her juice.

"He’ll have your kindness."

"And he’ll have everything I possess."

What Levi didn’t say was that inside his Inner Universe, the Void Walkers had already fallen to their knees in worship.

The child hadn’t even been born yet, yet it was already emitting a frequency that stood above all living things.

Levi was just about to take Wanda into the backyard when a faint vibration passed through the floor beneath his feet.

It wasn’t an earthquake.

Some cold, sinister force was seeping through the ley lines.

From the direction of the clock tower.

Mailman Dennis rode past the house on his battered bicycle, his movements stiff and unnatural, his eyes hollow.

Every turn of the pedals made the surrounding air grow colder.

The Anti-Monitor’s will wasn’t completely gone?

"Let’s go for a walk."

Levi draped a coat over Wanda’s shoulders.

The two of them stepped outside like any ordinary married couple.

Levi tapped the ground with the tip of his shoe.

A dark-gold ripple spread outward and collided with the invading chill.

The two forces slaughtered each other across microscopic dimensions.

Without even exerting much effort, he completely erased the void energy.

Dennis’s bicycle chain snapped.

He crashed onto the roadside, letting out a piercing scream. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Countless distorted frequencies overlapped within that cry, all pointing toward a strange sequence of symbols.

Levi sneered.

A cheap trick.

Supporting Wanda, he guided her across a cracked stone path.

The shadow of the clock tower was moving against the sunlight, like spilled ink spreading across the ground.

Wherever it passed, the grass withered into gray dust.

Not burnt ash.

Matter erased from existence at the conceptual level.

Suddenly, Wanda gasped and pressed a hand against her abdomen.

"He kicked me!"

The atmospheric pressure around them plummeted.

Red energy erupted outward from her and began rewriting biological reality itself.

Her maternity dress tightened.

Within a few breaths, her belly expanded from a slight swell into a clearly rounded pregnancy.

Months of development compressed into mere seconds.

"It’s okay."

"I’m here."

Levi stamped his foot.

A dark-gold ripple smashed into the ink-like shadow.

The void energy attempted to scream, high-frequency distortions rippling through microscopic dimensions.

But before the alchemical laws, those distortions were dismantled into meaningless static.

And Levi wasn’t merely defending.

Following the trail of that sinister presence, he reached directly into the source of the void and crushed every trace of malicious intent aimed at the unborn child.

Dennis collapsed completely, like a puppet with all the stuffing ripped out.

Wanda looked up, crimson light glowing within her eyes.

"Anthony... look at the sky."

At the edge of Westview, the crimson barrier was roaring.

It expanded outward wildly, swallowing forests, highways, and even S.H.I.E.L.D.’s temporary observation posts beyond the town.

"The baby wants more space."

Wanda murmured.

Her voice overlapped strangely, as if two souls were speaking simultaneously.

Levi wrapped an arm around her waist.

The little one clearly wasn’t pleased by the void’s intrusion.

Through his mother’s power, he was declaring ownership of the world.

"If he wants it, we can give him the entire Earth."

Levi smiled.

"But for now, let’s go sit in the park."

"Your appetite is definitely getting bigger."

"I want a chocolate sundae."

"With double whipped cream."

"Even if you wanted to eat the moon, I’d bring it down and slice it up for you."

...

On a street in Westview, Levi unwrapped a chocolate bar for Wanda.

Inside the Inner Universe, the Void Walkers worshipped with even greater fervor.

The little one, not yet born, was peering curiously through Wanda’s womb at the perfect world his father had forcibly stabilized.

"He’s very quiet, Anthony."

Wanda took a bite of chocolate and narrowed her eyes in contentment.

"He’s just gathering strength."

Levi looked toward the clock tower, his gaze icy.

"Some uninvited guests need someone to clean them up."

Within the tower’s shadow, the final remnants of the void energy pulsed once more with that strange frequency before disappearing.

Levi memorized it.

The things left behind by the Anti-Monitor were troublesome, to some extent.

But that was fine.

He had plenty of time to play with them. frёewebnoѵēl.com

As long as Wanda still believed this dream was perfect, no one was going to wake her.
