Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Since There’s No Escaping

Nathaniel’s voice exploded through the communicator.

Levi’s heart skipped a beat.

The black hole in Void-7 Universe had stopped.

The Death Universe cores compressed into spheres began trembling violently. Cracks spread across their surfaces as antimatter energy spewed outward.

Levi tried to tear open space and flee, but the golden light had barely appeared before it was crushed out.

The entire region had been sealed shut.

The Anti-Monitor’s will had locked down the battlefield. Anyone trying to escape would die here.

"The evacuation channels are sealed!"

Nathaniel’s voice trembled.

"The laws of space have been rewritten! I can’t lock onto your coordinates!"

Superman flew over, eyes bloodshot.

"I’ll hold back the explosion—you break the seal!"

"Won’t work."

Levi shook his head.

The blockade was so powerful that even Superman at full strength couldn’t shake it.

The cores trembled harder and harder. In less than two minutes, they would explode.

Chaos erupted across the comms.

Tony’s armor alarms screamed. Wanda’s chaos magic clashed violently with the explosive energy, nearly tearing apart Strange’s defenses.

Thor and Jean were trapped in the center of a nebula, Shadow Demons swarming around them like a tide. There was nowhere left to retreat.

Everyone waited for Levi’s command.

He remained silent for several seconds, staring at the cores as madness flashed through his eyes.

No escaping?

Then he simply wouldn’t run.

At their essence, those cores were energy—the Anti-Monitor’s fuel.

And energy had always been part of his diet.

"Everyone, listen carefully."

His voice echoed into every communicator.

"I’m about to do something insane. Hold your positions and don’t move."

"What?"

Tony froze.

"What are you planning?"

Levi didn’t answer.

[Concept of Greed]activated at full power.

The entrance to his Inner Universe opened in the center of his chest, forming a pitch-black vortex ten centimeters wide.

Superman’s expression changed drastically.

"Are you insane?! That much energy could destroy several galaxies! Your body can’t handle it!"

"We’ll find out."

Levi grinned.

"If we’re going to die anyway, might as well go crazy."

The vortex expanded. A golden beam shot into the sky, slamming directly into the nearest core.

That core had already swollen to its limit, cracks covering its surface as antimatter energy erupted outward.

Levi didn’t dodge.

He charged straight into it.

Golden light collided with antimatter energy, twisting space itself.

Superman was blasted away by the shockwave, smashing through dozens of asteroids.

Levi didn’t move an inch.

The suction force of his Inner Universe skyrocketed. The energy that should have exploded was forcibly redirected and poured into his chest instead.

Pain.

When antimatter and matter met, annihilation followed.

Levi’s body shook violently. Cracks spread across his skin as golden blood seeped out, dissolving into particles of light within the void.

"Levi!"

Superman tried to rush over but was blocked by a golden barrier.

"Don’t come closer!"

Levi gritted his teeth.

"This is my fight!"

His Inner Universe endured pressure unlike anything before.

Inside the core wasn’t just energy—it contained the pain, fear, and unwillingness of trillions upon trillions of dead lives.

Negative emotions flooded his consciousness like poison.

Levi didn’t retreat.

[Thirteen Laws]activated simultaneously.

The Law of Life soothed shattered consciousnesses.

The Law of Death guided them into reincarnation.

The Law of Space created destinations for them.

The Law of Time accelerated the fading of their suffering.

The first core was fully absorbed. His Inner Universe expanded another layer.

Not enough.

There were still four more.

Levi suddenly raised his head. His eyes turned completely golden.

[Concept of Greed — Full Release]

The vortex on his chest expanded again, transforming into a massive golden net that blotted out the sky and enveloped all five cores.

"If I’m going to eat them..."

"...then I’ll eat them all at once!"

The golden net contracted, dragging all five cores toward him simultaneously.

Countless black arms emerged from the depths of the black hole—the Anti-Monitor’s will trying to stop him.

Levi mobilized the full power of his Inner Universe. Golden chains wrapped around those black arms.

"You’re coming in too!"

BOOM—

All five cores, along with fragments of the Anti-Monitor’s will, were devoured into his Inner Universe.

Levi’s body stiffened.

Golden blood erupted from his eyes, nose, ears, and mouth as violent tremors shook him.

His Inner Universe nearly collapsed.

Stars dimmed.

Space became chaotic.

Time spiraled into disorder.

But he didn’t fall.

Grinding his teeth, he used the last of his strength to suppress all the energy deep within the core of his Inner Universe. The Thirteen Laws formed an enormous seal.

Outside—

The explosions at the five nodes abruptly stopped.

Superman stared blankly, speechless.

"What happened? The energy readings dropped to zero!"

Tony was stunned.

"The node on our side disappeared too!"

Thor shouted.

"The energy fluctuations in the Third Chaos Layer have stabilized!"

Strange exhaled in relief.

Everyone had survived.

But Levi’s body had reached its limit.

He closed his eyes and fell backward.

Superman rushed forward and caught him.

His body was ice cold. Cracks still spread across his skin, golden blood staining Superman’s suit dark gold.

"Levi! Wake up!"

Superman shook him hard, but there was no response. His breathing was so faint it was nearly imperceptible.

"His life signs are plummeting!"

Nathaniel shouted anxiously.

"His body can’t withstand it anymore!"

"Damn it!"

Tony cursed.

"We need to get him back!"

"The spatial seal hasn’t lifted!"

Strange’s voice filled with despair.

"I can’t open a portal!"

Just as hopelessness settled over everyone, the vortex on Levi’s chest lit up again.

Not absorption—

Release.

Golden beams erupted from the vortex, firing toward the other four nodes.

At the border universe, a golden beam descended from the heavens and struck the core moments before detonation.

The energy was drained away. The core shrank into a fist-sized dark-gold crystal.

"This is..."

Tony froze.

"He’s almost dead, and he’s still absorbing more energy?!"

At the Andromeda-9 danger zone, the gigantic Shadow Demon let out a shrill scream as its body twisted apart.

A golden beam pierced through it, absorbing both the creature and the surrounding nebula.

Jean felt it.

The imprisoned soul fragments had finally been freed.

In the Third Chaos Layer, space stabilized as the chaotic energy was drained away.

Wanda stared silently, complicated emotions flashing through her eyes.

All the energy from every node poured into Levi’s Inner Universe.

A mad gamble.

If he succeeded, his power would skyrocket.

If he failed, body and soul would be annihilated.

Superman could feel the terrifying expansion of energy within Levi.

His body began glowing brighter and brighter, like a miniature sun dispelling the darkness around them.

"He’s adapting!"

Nathaniel cried out.

"So this is the power of a Single-Universe-Level existence?!"

But the process was horrifyingly dangerous.

The cracks across Levi’s skin multiplied, as though his body might tear itself apart at any moment.

Inside his Inner Universe, the Thirteen Laws spun frantically, suppressing and refining the incoming energy.

The Phoenix Force refined the vast power, using it as fuel to elevate itself even further.

And then—

A cold will descended from beyond the Multiverse itself, locking onto Levi.

The Anti-Monitor’s true body had realized its trap was being turned against it—and its rage reached the extreme.

"Greedy one... you dare devour my power..."

A gigantic antimatter hand emerged from the void, blotting out heaven and earth as it reached toward Levi.

Where it passed, space shattered. Even light could not escape.

Superman wanted to block it—but compared to that hand, his strength was laughably insignificant.

The instant the giant hand was about to touch Levi—

Levi opened his eyes.

Pure golden eyes. Within his pupils, countless stars were born and destroyed.

He raised one hand and casually pushed forward.

"Get lost."

One word.

The power of the Thirteen Laws, the full might of the Concept of Greed, and Multiversal-level Phoenix Force erupted together.

Golden light transformed into a pillar piercing the cosmos and slammed into the giant hand.

BOOM—

The antimatter hand shattered into black fragments.

The Anti-Monitor’s will roared in fury as it was forcibly expelled.

Levi slowly rose to his feet.

The cracks across his body healed. Golden blood flowed back into him.

His aura had changed.

He had already stood at the peak of Single-Universe Level—and now he had gone one step further.

But the cost was catastrophic.

The spatial seal completely collapsed.

All five nodes erupted simultaneously with dimensional turbulence, swallowing everyone inside.

Levi only had time to place golden shields around everyone before losing consciousness.

The five teams were scattered and randomly teleported to different corners of the Multiverse.

Superman held the unconscious Levi tightly as the golden shield flickered violently amid the chaos currents.

He could feel Levi’s life force weakening, but his Inner Universe was slowly repairing itself.

"Hang in there," Superman said quietly.

The turbulence accelerated, hurling them toward an unfamiliar dimension.

Superman saw only a barren starfield before losing consciousness himself.

Tony’s armor alarms screamed continuously as his shield flickered.

Starlight tightly held Adam. The little boy’s body emitted faint golden light, instinctively resisting the chaos.

"Mom..."

Adam opened his eyes, his voice trembling with fear.

"Don’t be scared. Mommy’s here." freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Starlight fought through the dizziness and shielded him with her own body.

The dimensional current dragged the three of them toward a silent world filled with mechanical ruins.

Thor and Jean were separated, flung in opposite directions.

Phoenix wings spread behind Jean as she desperately tried to stabilize herself, but the turbulence was too strong.

All she could do was watch Thor disappear into a black rift.

"Thor!"

Jean shouted, but only the void answered.

The Phoenix Force stirred restlessly, as though sensing something.

Jean closed her eyes and let the current carry her toward an unknown destination.

Strange and Wanda were in the worst condition.

The chaos magic inside Wanda violently rejected the dimensional turbulence, twisting her body uncontrollably.

Strange exhausted himself trying to maintain their defenses, but he could feel Wanda’s consciousness nearing collapse.

"Wanda! Stay focused!"

No response.

There was only chaos in her eyes.

Just as she was about to lose control, a crimson light erupted from within her body and blasted apart the surrounding turbulence.

The instinctive protection of chaos magic.

And her desperate desire to survive.

Wrapped in crimson light, the two vanished into the dimensional storm.

Avengers Base.

Nathaniel stared fixedly at the five rapidly receding points of light on the holographic screen, cold sweat pouring down his face as his fingers flew wildly across the controls in a desperate attempt to relocate them.

But the Multiverse was too vast.

The turbulence interference was too strong.

One by one, the lights disappeared beyond the edges of the map.

"Damn it..."

Nathaniel clenched his teeth.

"We lost the signal."

Inside the base, everyone exchanged grim looks.

Then—

A faint golden light flashed across the screen.

The marks Levi had left on each person still remained.

Weak—but still there.

Nathaniel’s eyes lit up.

"They’re alive! The marks are still active!"

Then his expression darkened again.

Those marks were scattered across five completely different corners of the Multiverse, separated by tens of thousands of light-years—even different dimensional layers.

"To bring them all back..."

Nathaniel muttered softly.

"...will take at least three months."

In a dark corner of the Multiverse—

The Anti-Monitor slowly opened its eyes.

It could sense that although the greedy one had devoured its power, he had also exposed the coordinates of his Inner Universe.

"Excellent..."

Its voice echoed through the void.

"You think consuming my trap will make you stronger? No... you’ve merely planted a time bomb inside yourself. The moment you finish digesting that energy... will be the moment I descend."

It raised one hand.

Five points of light appeared in the void.

"Being scattered is even better."

"One by one... will be far more entertaining."
