Chapter 439: Chapter 244: A Mass Complaint
—
The Market Hut’s fifth and sixth combined update is complete. The changes are as follows:
1. In response to extensive feedback regarding the Jade Stone Market, the rules for trading and consignment have been adjusted.
The Jade Stone Market’s trading rules have been adjusted. The host’s number of refreshes is no longer unlimited and is now set to 6 times per period, linked to the hut’s Level.
When consigning goods, please prepare the specific item types and quantities. Once an item and its quantity are listed, no other item types can be added to that listing. The price and quantity will be locked and cannot be modified after confirmation. However, there are no restrictions on listing or delisting the selected item. Additionally, once an item is sold out, its consignment slot will be locked and become inoperable.
2. The commission fee for consignment and purchase requests has been lowered to 10%. Consignment slots increased by 2 (0/6).
3. A Fourth Level has been added to the Market Hut. This level is a teleportation transit space. All Teleportation Array transfers within the Wilderness World will automatically be redirected to this level. This level comes with a 10x10x10 meter standard space. The space can be expanded using Points, with the host choosing the direction of expansion along a fixed axis. Cost: 100 Points per square (or cubic) meter. Authorization can be granted to move items within the hut via thought.
4. A Fifth Level has been added to the Market Hut: the Preservation Warehouse level. Initial space is 10x10x10 meters. The space can be expanded using Points, with the host choosing the direction of expansion along a fixed axis. Cost: 100 Points per square (or cubic) meter. Authorization can be granted to move items within the hut via thought.
5. Due to extremely low usage, the Acquisition section has been removed. The Jade Stone Market, Purchase Request section, and Consignment section will be retained.
6. As the Market Hut’s rules have now been refined, and for the security of the Market Hut and the safety of its host, the Jade Stone Market function will be terminated after the next transaction. All other functions will remain unchanged.
7. The area of the Market Hut remains unchanged. Points from transaction volume required for the next update: (0/600,000).

"Fuck!"
Cheng Zongyang read through the list carefully, speechless for a moment.
The very first point instantly soured his mood.
It seemed that because he had been continuously raising prices, this rule change felt like someone had reported him for price gouging. Even the associated trading rules had been restricted and adjusted.
For a moment, he didn’t even know how to express the ’what the fuck’ he was feeling inside.
’You can actually get reported for this kind of thing?’
But since the rules had been changed, he could only accept it silently.
However, this also meant that in the future, he could only choose to sell six types of goods, and he had to prepare sufficient quantities. He could have more, but not less, because once an item sold out, he wouldn’t be able to add more to the stock.
When Cheng Zongyang told Luo Dingran about this, the latter was just as speechless as he jotted it down.
He had never imagined that his attempts to constantly adjust prices would actually get him reported, leading to the rules being changed.
Now it felt like the loss outweighed the gain.
But the rules were set, and there was nothing they could do but passively accept them.
"The market doesn’t even give a warning. If it had, who would’ve done that?" Cheng Zongyang grumbled.
The first point had completely ruined his mood, and he found he had little interest in the rest of the updates.
Looking at the subsequent updates, Cheng Zongyang felt the changes weren’t that significant.
But when he saw the sixth point, he suddenly sobered up, his expression turning grave.
He sensed something wrong in that sentence.
’What did it mean by "for the security of the Market Hut"? And "for the safety of its host"?’
’Have I been targeted by other hosts? Why else would it suddenly shut down the market and "go offline"?’
"Hut, tell me, after connecting, did you, a newbie, get targeted by some big shots?"
He hadn’t expected the Market Hut to respond, but an interface materialized before him—
[Yes]
Now Cheng Zongyang understood the danger.
"Damn it, so there really are beings out there who hunt system owners. Are you going to be okay?" Cheng Zongyang suddenly asked.
[I can]
"Alright, that’s good enough then. If it has to shut down, so be it."
Compared to his own safety and that of the Market Hut, this "shutdown" was nothing. At least he could still use the purchase request and consignment functions.
Now, by comparison, the limit of only six refreshes actually seemed like good news. At least he would still have six more chances to buy things!
Cheng Zongyang informed Luo Dingran that the Jade Stone Market would close after the next transaction, telling him to accumulate as much as possible for next time and try to buy everything they could.
Luo Dingran agreed with a solemn expression.
Next, he went to the Fifth Level to check it out.
The Preservation Warehouse. Now he wouldn’t have to worry about storage. As for the preservation warehouse next to the hut, it could serve as a backup or for storing things like his fish catch.
There wasn’t much to see. In the future, he would have enough space to store meat, grain, fruits, and vegetables without fear of spoilage. The only problem was the steep cost in Points.
Expanding it by 100 cubic meters cost ten thousand Points. This was clearly a Point sink engineered by the Market Hut.
He then went to the standard space Teleportation Array on the Fourth Level. This was also just an empty expanse. If the hut hadn’t indicated that this was the teleportation level, he never would have guessed it was a teleportation point.
But it would be convenient for storing and organizing teleported items in the future, so they wouldn’t be scattered all over the place outside. The ability to control it with his mind made it even more practical. For Cheng Zongyang, it was especially useful for retrieving items at any time while he was in the outside world.
As for being able to control the direction of expansion, that was also easy to understand. He could either expand the floor area in square meters or expand the volume in cubic meters.
Both expanded the space; the former kept the height constant, while the latter expanded all three axes simultaneously. Each had its own advantages.
