Chapter 85: I do
She had worked in the hospitality business long enough to be exposed to a lot of things.
She had heard stories that made her spine crawl and would make her want to claw her heart out of her chest if such a thing were to happen to her.
The thought was horrifying, but even more was the fact that she was entering into what could only be a lion’s den.
’I should have known. All the girls were too pretty,’ realizing that they had clearly been picked carefully.
’Fuck Larry!’ she swore under her breath as they got closer to the door, even as the manager in charge of them stood behind them with a gentle smile on his face.
The door was slowly pulled open to reveal a poorly lit room, so much so that it was hard to clearly see who were inside from outside.
But from the way they were seated around a huge table on big private chairs, Llara knew what she was dealing with.
Moreover, the bodyguards at the entrance told an even deeper story as she instantly took a step backward and bolted. freewebnøvel.coɱ
Not allowing her brain to second guess her actions as she instantly bolted backward, diving past the manager whose expression took a very bad turn—anger and something more severe—as he moved to catch her, while the other women wondered, turning around to figure out what was going on.
The bodyguards moved quickly though, herding them in and shutting the door before they darted towards Llara, whose heart felt like it was on the brink of leaping out of her chest.
It was erratic as fear coloured her face red as she ran, while cursing Larry over and over in her head, who had assured her that although it was a members only club, it was a reputable one that didn’t deal in shady things.
’Reputable my ass!’ she swore under her breath as she darted to the left, mapping out the path she would take in her head as fast as she could.
Aware of the consequences of what would happen if she was caught, she ran faster.
But she had just gone past the bend when suddenly she was stunned to see a huge man, flanked by guards on either side, walking towards her.
Her gaze having barely settled on him when she went ahead to crash into him, moving too quickly to be able to stop.
Only to be stunned as big hands grabbed her and held her in place with a grip that let her know that not only did this person work out, but they were also packing a weird strength that clearly superseded her own.
Looking up at him only to freeze.
He was handsome, in a rugged and yet refined way. His black clothes and the heavy black coat he had draped on were elegant to the tee.
His shoes and clothes were designers. It was in the way he wore them like it had been perfectly made for him and not simply bought in a mall.
But beyond that he was huge. He was big like a body builder, and even more than that was the ruggedness of his face that made it extremely clear that he didn’t sit in an office all day.
His face had a hardness to it that could either be found in law enforcement or among criminals.
His eyes were even harsher and cold, but all that were things that her brain barely managed to process before she crashed head first into him.
Feeling a strong hold on her arm as she raised her gaze to meet dark brown gaze that was fixed heavily on her.
A slight scar beneath his hairline as his dark hair naturally framed his face.
"What’s going on here?" He asked, his tone carried an authority that could not be outrightly ignored.
The manager who had been running forward along with the bodyguards behind had no choice but come to a stop.
With a bewildered expression on their face as they fixed it on the man whom Llara found it hard to take her gaze off.
His arm still held her, but at that moment she didn’t care. As long as he didn’t hand her over to the manager, he could hold onto her as long as he wanted to.
"I won’t repeat myself!" His deep husky voice rumbled out even as the manager, coupled with the guards, instantly bowed their head and began to speak.
"Mr Ferraro, she belongs to Mr Lorenzo. He’s having a meeting and she’s one of the hosts!" The manager stepped forward to explain with a low bow of respect.
But his tone still made it clear that he wasn’t the least bit had any intention of taking a step back.
But the manager had just spoken when Llara watched the tall and muscled man who stood beside her instantly let her go as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Oh!!" He said with eyes that showed complete and utter indifference, even as he made it clear that he was prepared to move aside and continue his journey without a care.
Llara panicked.
The manager stretched out his hands to reach for her and she instantly panicked as she moved to grab the edge of the coat of the tall man with the scar referred to as Mr Ferraro. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Not noting the wild gasp and look of shock that flashed across the bodyguards who stood on either side of him.
"Please! I do not belong to anyone! I was here to do a job but I quit!" Llara hurriedly explained, aware that if he left that whatever hope she had left would be instantly crushed.
"If they say you belong to him, then you ..." but the man was still speaking while easily prying her fingers off his cloak when she interrupted him, raising her gaze to make eye contact with him as she spoke again.
"I belong to you! My name is Llara and I belong to you!" She said, her heart pounding in her chest.
She did not know this man in front of her, who he was or what he did, but at that moment she did not care.
Whatever he was had to be better than whatever they would do to her in that room. At least she hoped so as she stared into his eyes, ignoring how intense his gaze was as he stared back at her with mirth.
A hint of smile hovering by his lips as he opened his mouth to speak again.
"You belong to me?" He asked her, almost like he heard something funny and was trying to ensure that he hadn’t heard wrong.
Llara though wasn’t about to back down.
"I do!" She responded, squaring her shoulders as she matched his gaze.
’Just until this is all over!’ She told herself, but maybe she should have told Mr Ferraro too.
