Chapter 45: A deal and a Kiss

"I’m getting married to her in ten days!" Dante said with a blank expression on his face even though his eyes held a sly look that couldn’t be hidden. Elder Bellini simply nodded his head, even as he continued to hold the cigar in his hands without placing it against his lips. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"I said I would give you my shares of the Bellini Corp if you actually found a woman you loved and married her—allowing me to see my grandchild before I died!" Elder Bellini spoke, stating what he had told him in the last conversation they had.

"It’s been two weeks! I didn’t think you were a man to fall in love so quickly!" Elder Bellini told him, even as Dante slightly shrugged his shoulders as he responded.

"Same here! I was stunned when I looked upon her and felt something!" Dante said with a serious expression on his face and a firmness in his eyes that would have had anyone believing that he was actually in love.

But Elder Bellini was not anyone, as he fixed his gaze on Dante, taking another long puff of his cigar as he leaned into the chair he sat on, his gaze still fixed on Dante as he pulled the cigar away from his lips and began to speak again.

"Love?" the elder asked, with an expression closer to a sneer than a smile. "Dante, the only thing in your heart is revenge! Nothing more!" he said, even as Dante’s gaze fell into one of hurt and betrayal, which elicited a long and low sigh from Elder Bellini, who seemed to suddenly be filled with more tension than before.

Dante didn’t speak again, but he didn’t have to, as the Elder began to speak with a wild smile on his face, looking at Dante who steadily fixed his gaze back on the Elder.

"I don’t care as long as I see your grandchild! I’ll keep my own end of the bargain!" he said, even as Dante nodded his head, a smile finally appearing on his face since the conversation began.

"They will come for you! Once they find out, they will come for you!" the elder told Dante, who didn’t have the slightest trace of fear on his face as he opened his mouth to respond.

"We both know that they will come for you first!" Dante said, his smile dissolving into a more serious look.

"I wouldn’t trust your other grandchildren either!" Dante warned him, even as the Elder chuckled for a second, reverting back into the easygoing cadence he had at the table.

"Family is family! Even if they’d rather bite your head off than eat at the same table!" he said with a grin, even as Dante no longer responded to the old man, especially since it was not the first time they were having the conversation, and the man seemed to have already made up his mind.

After they talked for a while longer, Dante got on his feet and made it clear that he was leaving, even as the Elder nodded his head and let him go.

Isadora was upstairs, not surprised that she had barely settled down on the couch to watch a movie Alessia swore was epic when Anna began to bombard her with questions about Dante, which she couldn’t clearly say she knew nothing about.

"How did you two meet? Dante only cares about work! It’s hard to imagine that you run in the same circles he does!" she asked with genuine curiosity on her face, which made Alessia instantly gasp, looking interested as she settled on the couch with brimming excitement.

She looked like a girl who was about to gossip with her best friend, but Isadora knew that looks were deceiving, even if they were being genuine.

"I believe he fell for me at first sight!" Isadora responded, even as the embarrassing memory of their first meeting made her cheeks redden as she tried hard not to remember it ever again—begging Dante on her knees only for him to chase her out. freewebnovёl.ƈom

"Of—of course I fell for him too!" she added. Isadora didn’t know why Dante insisted on them pretending to be in love, but she wasn’t about to question her employer’s motives.

"He—he’s super handsome!" she stuttered, blushing even harder at having to say such embarrassing words, her cheeks tinged red even as she noticed the serious expressions that flashed in Alessia’s and Anna’s eyes, like they found it hard to believe but listened regardless.

"So you know about the tattoo on his chest?" Alessia asked, leaning closer to Isadora, who instantly furrowed her brows in confusion.

"What tattoo?" Isadora frowned, recalling his chest, aware that there was absolutely no tattoo there, only to watch Alessia giggle.

"Nah! Just joking, I thought he had one!" Alessia responded, even as Isadora felt her heart thump a bit louder in her chest.

Aware that if she hadn’t seen Dante naked, then they would have realized that she was lying—and Dante was also lying.

’Why do they seem hell-bent on finding out about our relationship though? Dante can marry whoever he likes,’ Isadora thought to herself, already getting tired of the questions when she suddenly heard a familiar voice that helped her breathe a low sigh of relief as she instantly stumbled to her feet.

"We should head back home!" Dante said from the door, even as Isadora hurriedly nodded her head before turning around and instantly making her way towards him, waving at the two young women around her age behind her.

Alessia waved back with a huge smile, but Anna simply nodded, though Isadora couldn’t care less as she headed out of the house silently, half a step behind Dante who walked in front of her.

Isadora had just moved to enter the car first when she suddenly felt arms snake around her waist and the back of her head, stunned to see Dante lean in and kiss her passionately on her lips like a man dying of thirst.

The kiss was heady and hard, but the feel of his lips was extremely soft even as she felt him push open her mouth to wrap his tongue around hers in a way that had her gasping for breath.
