Chapter 24: Picking a wedding Dress

They didn’t speak much after that and they didn’t have to. Isadora watched him get up and leave a few moments after it was clear that he was done eating.

Isadora on the other hand instantly slowed her speed of eating the second Dante was gone staring at the empty space in front and around her with relief.

’It always feel like there’s a weight on me everytime he’s around!’ She thought to herself as she continued to slowly eat her food.

By the time she was done, Guila was standing by her side a few feet behind her with a schedule in her hand. fгeewebnovёl.com

Almost like she was reminding her of how closely they had to stick to the timetable they already had.

"I’m going out today right?" Isadora asked even as Guila instantly nodded her head.

"Yes, Ma’am! I’ve instructed the drivers and the guards!" Guila responded and Isadora was tempted to be sarcastic but held back as she slowly got on her feet dusting away the short blue gown for invisible dust particles that couldn’t be there.

"You need to pick a wedding dress and it needs to be extravagant. You’ll also have to go for fittings! Apart from that there’s nothing left!" Guila continued to speak even as Isadora turned to look at her with a surprised look on her face.

"You’re not coming with me?" Isadora asked especially since that was the way it seemed from Guila’a tone surprised to see her nod her head to show that she indeed wasn’t going to go with her.

"I’m the caretaker of the estate! I oversee things here!" Guila clarified with a hint of pride in her tone which she couldn’t hide as she passed Isadora what was definately a copy of the schedule she was supposed to have.

"I expect you to be back by 2 at lost! You can shop for other things!" Guila informed her before turning around to head out of the dinning clearly expecting Isadora to follow which she did.

The cars were arranged and the guards were assigned. By the time Isadora picked up one of the many bags in her closet and was out the door ready to go, she was stunned to see rows of cars and guards dressed in the same black suits in shades.

Her mouth widening ever so slightly as she watched a guard open the door for her as she slide in even as the guard slid in after her.

Taking off his shades as he settled beside her to show that apart from his bald head he was much older than she had presumed.

"My name is Ettore!" He said introducing himself. "I’ll be your personal guard!"

Isadora simply nodded her head in response glancing at him with a smile before glancing away to stare out the window as the car began to move. Not seeing a need to introduce herself since she was sure gay he probably knew more about her than she could tell him.

The ride was silent and Isadora liked it that way not seeing a reason to have a conversation especially since Ettore, seemed content to sit in silence.

The car drove for a very long time before it finally stopped in front of small building, labeled ’Sterling Designers’ . The environment was pristine and simply from the cars and people that passed by including the buildings, it was clear that it was a place only frequented by the obscenely rich.

Since the car stopped, Isadora knew to get down only to see Ettore hurriedly get down first, whispering into the ear piece in his ear as he beckoned for her to slowly step out.

’I feel like the president’s daughter! ’ she thought to herself as she stepped out. Ignoring the gazes that were instantly attracted to her even as she walked into the building with Ettore while the other guards stayed out.

Isadora entered the small building where they sold exotic dresses and was instantly marveled by the interior. The atmosphere was luxurious, almost theatrical, with crystal chandeliers glittering above, silk curtains cascading down the walls, and mannequins dressed in gowns so detailed they looked almost alive. The faint scent of roses and expensive perfume hung in the air.

Two assistants hurried forward the moment she stepped inside. Their polished smiles seemed rehearsed, yet warm.

"Welcome, Lady Isadora! We’ve been expecting you," one said brightly, bowing her head slightly introducing her name as Clara while Isadora barely caught the other one’s name.

"Your appointment has been reserved exclusively. Please, this way," the other chimed in, gesturing toward an arrangement of velvet couches near a low glass table.

Isadora followed, her eyes roving over the pristine showroom. She had expected to come, pick something, and leave—but the attention felt almost royal. She lowered herself onto the couch, and one assistant immediately placed a porcelain teacup in her hands.

"Please enjoy. A special blend," the woman said.

Isadora raised her brows slightly. VIP treatment for just choosing a gown? She wondered as she glanced at the cup on the table and watched as they placed a heavy, leather-bound hardcover on the table before her. Gold letters gleamed across the front: Designs.

"This book contains some of our most exquisite work," one assistant explained, her voice trembling with a hint of excitement. "You may select the elements you like, and we will compile them into designs for the perfect gown for you."

Isadora blinked at the thickness of the book. "You mean... I’m supposed to design it myself?"

"Not entirely, My Lady," the second replied, eyes sparkling. "We will guide you. But it helps us understand your preferences."

The first leaned forward eagerly, almost bouncing. "It’s your wedding dress, after all! It should reflect you. Don’t hold back."

Isadora hesitated only a moment before opening the book. Her eyes widened at the richness of the gowns displayed—jeweled bodices, sweeping trains, lace so fine it seemed spun from clouds. She couldn’t help the awe slipping into her voice.

"This... this is beautiful. I like the jewels here."

The assistants scribbled instantly, nodding at each other.

"Oh, and the lace on this one! It looks like glass."

"Noted, Lady Isadora!"

She kept flipping, caught up in the artistry, oblivious to their growing tension when more than ten minutes later she was still speaking pointing at kore than twenty dresses whose designs she was absolutely in love with.

’She knows she can only have one wedding dress right?’ One thought glancing at the other who also glanced back as they realized that their work wouldn’t be as simple as it seemed.
