Chapter 32: War
They traveled a long distance before arriving at an open area. It was no longer a forest. Instead, the place was filled with massive boulders.
Some were stacked on top of one another, showing clear signs that someone had arranged them.
Far ahead lay an enormous crater that looked as though it had been created by a meteor impact.
Inside the crater was a village. Its houses were built entirely from stone, resembling ancient Middle Eastern architecture.
Mateo saw brown-skinned people with bodies packed with bulging muscles.
Even the women among them looked physically powerful.
Calling them barbarians was indeed quite fitting.
They quickly gathered in front of the village after hearing the approach of the Baron’s forces from afar.
The Baron stopped his horse at the edge of the crater and smiled at the villagers, who stared back at him with fury.
"Boy, you really intend to attack us." The middle-aged man standing at the front with a spear looked at the Baron coldly.
His eyes were bloodshot, and his body trembled continuously.
"Didn’t I already give you a chance to relocate? Since you ignored my warning, this is the only path left for me. What? Are you afraid now?" the Baron replied arrogantly.
"We’re not afraid of death... Some of your people will die too!" a young barbarian shouted.
"Yeah, come if you want to die!" another added.
They seemed to desire nothing except battle. freewebnσvel.cøm
"Hahaha, excellent!" The Baron burst into laughter.
"I brought over a thousand Magi here. Let’s see how long you can last," he said.
His gaze swept across the Magi lined up behind him.
The faint smile on his face irritated many of them.
"Attack!"
The command left his mouth.
"Attack!"
Not all the Magi hated him. Some were his followers.
They immediately charged into the crater, sliding down the slope.
Once some people moved forward, the rest had no choice but to follow.
Mateo reluctantly advanced as well, drawing his dagger.
He decided to fight using only his weapon.
Rumble!
Suddenly, dozens of massive boulders flew from the edges of the crater and crashed downward.
One of them was heading directly toward Mateo.
He couldn’t help feeling uneasy.
Without any time to think, he slashed at the car-sized boulder with his dagger.
BANG!
The dagger turned out to be far stronger than he had expected, splitting the boulder cleanly into two.
It wasn’t only Mateo who was shocked. The surrounding Magi were equally stunned.
"Is that a Class A Weapon, Mateo?" Cooper asked.
"Yeah..." He nodded lightly.
Power was something that couldn’t be denied.
Whoosh!
A spear suddenly shot toward him at incredible speed.
"Shit!"
Cooper grabbed Mateo’s arm and pulled him aside, assuming he couldn’t dodge on his own and wouldn’t have time to block.
The one who had thrown the spear was a shirtless young man who appeared larger than the others.
Besides the spear, he carried a massive greatsword on his back.
Judging from his gaze, he had specifically targeted Mateo and Cooper.
A faint red aura radiated from his body, causing the surrounding air to tremble.
"This guy is really strong," Cooper said.
Whoosh!
The young man charged toward them.
Before anyone noticed, the greatsword was already in his hands.
He swung it at Mateo and Cooper.
The attack looked capable of cutting both of them in half at once.
Mateo had no choice but to block with his small dagger.
Clang!
The dagger held, but Mateo was immediately sent flying by the tremendous force behind the strike.
The young man’s Adept Realm was definitely higher than his, and he also possessed superior physical strength.
His greatsword appeared to be a Class A Weapon as well.
Cooper seized the opportunity while Mateo was blocking.
He leaped into the air.
Drawing his bow, he fired at the young man.
A single shot released five arrows at once, each wrapped in wind and flying at high speed.
However, the young man merely stomped his foot.

"You fight me!"
Someone wielding twin swords suddenly arrived, lightning covering his entire body.
Samuel Baker—the man who had supposedly died.
Clang!
His twin swords collided with the young barbarian’s greatsword.
At the same time, he unleashed a bolt of lightning.
The young barbarian tried to withstand it directly with his aura.
"Why aren’t you using your power?" he asked Mateo, leaving Cooper utterly confused.
Mateo shook his head, not knowing how to answer.
BANG!
Suddenly, a barbarian tribesman landed in front of him from somewhere above.
A broken spear fragment had pierced through his shoulder.
"Ahhh!"
He screamed in pain, looking utterly miserable.
Mateo then realized the man had been injured by Lucas White.
"Idiot, why are you just standing there?!"
Lucas leaped forward and thrust his spear into the barbarian’s chest.
The man died instantly.
This was real killing.
Regardless of whether this world was real or not, everything felt real.
Watching humans kill other humans made Mateo shudder.
Was this truly something he had to do?
"Hmph, if you’d done it yourself, you’d have gotten part of his System Points," Lucas said mockingly.
"This isn’t Earth. Killing and being killed is normal here."
After saying that, he leaped away and charged toward weaker members of the Barbarian Tribe.
The battle continued everywhere, while the Baron and his soldiers watched from the edge of the crater with smiles on their faces, as though they were merely enjoying a performance.
It wasn’t only barbarians who were dying.
Many Magi were also meeting gruesome ends.
"Dead..."
Mateo couldn’t have been more shocked.
A young girl suddenly rushed toward him with murderous intent.
She carried a spear.
Her jump reached only about two meters high.
She was far too weak and had probably mistaken the motionless Mateo for an easy target.
Instead of blocking, he chose to retreat.
However, the girl continued chasing him.
"Kid, what are you doing? Kill her!" a middle-aged Magus shouted at Mateo.
He was clearly one of the Baron’s lackeys.
The moment he finished speaking, he launched a massive fireball.
The attack engulfed the young girl.
"Ahhh!"
She screamed as flames began consuming her body.
Mateo’s head started spinning.
His hands trembled.
He couldn’t bear to watch this.
Whoosh!
At the critical moment, another barbarian controlled the earth.
The ground pierced through the fireball, wrapped around the girl, and pulled her out of the flames.
"You’re truly cruel! We’ve never killed children from your side!" the barbarian roared as he charged at the middle-aged Magus.
"Hahaha! If your people aren’t exterminated, you’ll only keep causing problems for us!" the Magus replied.
The two immediately clashed in a fierce battle.
