Chapter 3: Initiate
Mateo couldn’t read all the information displayed on the screen—it was simply too much.
Heaven Path Soul (SSS Class).
That was the only talent he had.
He wasn’t sure whether that was a good thing or not.
His knowledge was too limited.
From what he had heard, most people possessed both a talent and an Elemental Affinity.
But he only had a talent. Did that mean he was worse than others?
Before he could dwell on it for long, his surroundings suddenly changed.
A new world unfolded before his eyes.
Everything felt real—far too real to be a dream.
He found himself standing in what looked like a small, ancient European town, like something straight out of a comic. The place was vibrant and colorful, filled with people dressed in elegant attire—not inferior to modern fashion, but styled differently. Women wore elaborate dresses, while men wore doublets.
Mateo glanced down at himself.
He was wearing a robe.
His body looked exactly the same as his real one.
Looking up, he saw an incredibly vast sky. The clouds were so high they seemed almost unreachable.
As he breathed in, the air felt denser—richer, almost nourishing. It gave him a refreshing sensation he had never experienced before.
Was this really another world?
Curious, he began walking, observing the people around him.
He knew there were many humans from Earth here—but there was no way to distinguish them.
The natives and Earthlings looked exactly the same. Only by recognizing someone could you tell.
The interface was still visible before his eyes, and now a new notification appeared.
(For now, try absorbing Spiritual Energy to strengthen yourself. Guide your body with your thoughts!)
’Spiritual Energy... sounds complicated.’

"What?" Mateo frowned.
He hadn’t even started absorbing it yet—yet it was increasing on its own. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Soon, he felt something strange emerging within his body... something he could control with his mind.
He guided it outward.
A faint, mist-like gas appeared above his palm... then quickly dissipated.
’Is this really based on my will?’
He recalled what the System had said about the Heaven Path Soul.
He immediately tried imagining himself possessing the greatest power in this world.
A moment passed.
Nothing happened.
He shook his head.
That was probably too much. Besides, it required energy to activate. Only small things wouldn’t consume energy—like generating a bit of Spiritual Energy.
’So it really is like a game...’
A real world with magic wouldn’t be that simple.

It increased again—just because he wanted it to.

The growth wasn’t consistent, nor as fast as before—but it didn’t stop.
As he wandered through the bustling town, the sounds of horse-drawn carriages filled the air.
"Alex, please... give my weapon back. I can’t fight monsters without it..."
Mateo froze.
That voice sounded familiar.
It came from a restaurant he had just passed.
"William Watson..."
He saw a familiar face—his dorm neighbor, a thin second-year student with long hair.
William was pleading with a tall, blonde man who exuded confidence and indifference.
The man sat casually, with several large men standing behind him.
Mateo had seen him at the university before—someone clearly influential.
"You’ve delayed your payment for a week," Alex replied coldly. "If I don’t take your belongings, who would still see me as a proper lender?"
"B-But..." William couldn’t continue.
"Figure out how to repay your debt," Alex said, his sharp gaze making William visibly shrink.
The men behind him looked ready to beat him at any moment.
Left with no choice, William nodded and hurried away.
He looked burdened—but when he noticed Mateo, he froze.
"Ma-Mateo? You can enter too?" he stammered.
"Just now," Mateo replied.
"Seriously?" William looked shocked.
Mateo nodded.
"To be honest... I’m pretty confused here," Mateo admitted.
"Confused about what?"
"I don’t know what I should be doing."
"Oh..." William slapped his forehead.
"It’s simple—just train. Once you reach the Initiate Realm, you can go out, explore, hunt monsters, or search for treasures to earn System Points. If you want an easier start, go to the Royal Library. Anyone can study there freely. They even provide Codex Magica and Techniques for free."
"The library?"
"Over there!" William pointed at a massive five-story building—the most prominent structure in town.
"I’ve got something to do. See you," William said, patting Mateo’s shoulder before leaving.
Alex and his men exited the restaurant, passing by Mateo.
They glanced at him—but dismissed him immediately, as if he were insignificant.
Mateo didn’t care.
He walked toward the library, curiosity growing.
