Chapter 105: The Queen’s Dog Barks

The moment Galatea’s shout came from the door, Luvia, who half-mounted Cedric, with one dagger to his throat and her fist raised, paused for a moment. Only a moment... then she gripped her dagger and punched him twice, in the jaw, shattering his molar and front teeth.

’Wow... the power from that bastard is amazing...’

Luvia cursed Luka out whenever she thought of him in her mind.

Though each time his name floated, so did the huge thing between his legs, and how she was a complete prisoner to the bliss it brought her.

"LUVIA!"

Luvia’s hand froze at the second shout; she could almost feel Galatea’s nervousness from how dry and hoarse it sounded.

Her dagger remained pressed against Cedric’s throat, the thin edge already wet with his blood. The knight beneath her trembled like a beaten animal, his once-polished face ruined by blood, swelling and fear.

His eyes darted toward the doorway, desperate for salvation, only to find Galatea standing there instead.

"Eh?"

She looked stunningly terrible.

Her long blonde hair was draped over her left shoulder in a loose, messy fashion. A robe clung poorly to her body, tied in haste and pulled tight with one hand. Her face held a faint flush, her breathing was uneven, and even standing required her to brace her shoulder against the doorframe.

Yet her eyes remained clear, with a cold and domineering aura.

Though he felt a rush of adrenaline and hormones rush to his crotch, the knight also understood from the dark red marks on her neck, visible cleavage that Galatea wasn’t a pure maiden as he believed.

’She has another man?!’

Cedric’s fantasy of the perfect knight shattered.

She was just another whore.

However, the two women didn’t care about his worries and instead continued their little face-off.

"Luvia," Galatea repeated. "Move the blade away. Although this filthy scum deserves to be beaten, you cannot harm him, or it will affect your Master..."

The dark elf’s golden eyes flickered with a forboding light.

"Even though he tried to drag me into a room, to rape me... and called me a slut?"

"I heard that, but this is how things are."

"He touched me."

Galatea’s grip tightened around the doorframe, though she wanted to support her ally, a murderous pressure spread through the hallway like a sea of Miasma. She couldn’t fully blame Luvia for her anger, as she might have done the same.

Cedric’s gaze lingered on Galatea’s body, his eyes lowering as if to see a peek of her thighs as his lips parted, perhaps to beg, or maybe to explain himself.

Galatea looked down at him.

"Do not speak."

Her words were spoken quietly, without shouting or aggression, but the knight shut his mouth at once as if they were.

Luvia pushed her dagger deeper, causing blood to drip down the blade.

"Then why did you stop me when we can just kill him now, and toss the body in some ditch to feed the animals?"

"Because killing him here would cause issues for Luka and... isn’t just killing him now too easy of an escape for the ugly bastard?"

Luvia paused.

She turned to Galatea with her mouth wide open.

Maybe never expecting to hear such words from her rival.

Galatea took a slow step from the doorway. Her legs trembled beneath the robe, and the movement clearly took more of a toll on her than she wanted to show, but she refused to lean back. She used pride to hold her upright when strength failed.

"He is a knight sent under the Queen’s decree. If you cut his throat in the corridor, Luka will not only have to clean the blood, but also explain the corpse, and swallow whatever trouble the capital sends after us. This isn’t the fallen lands, where you can kill as you like... There is an order to everything."

Luvia clicked her tongue.

"So we let him go?"

"No."

Galatea’s blue eyes lowered to Cedric again before she smirked.

"We should ensure he lives long enough to regret surviving at all. I am sure you understand what I mean as a Dark Elf woman."

The dark elf stared at her for a moment before her lips curved into a wide arc.

"My, my... Lady Galatea can say frightening things too."

"I learned from a terrible man."

"Ah, our terrible man?"

Galatea’s face twitched as she tried to avoid shouting back. Instead, she settled for a minor warning. After becoming Luka’s woman, she hated the fact that her body still ached for more, slowly eating away at her pure and knightly heart.

"Do not test me."

Luvia laughed under her breath, but the dagger finally lifted from Cedric’s throat.

Cedric sucked in air too quickly, choking on blood and panic. His hand twitched toward his sword again, either from instinct or stupidity.

Luvia stomped on his wrist, and a sharp crack echoed through the hall.

The poor knight screamed as his hand dangled limply from the wrist down.

Galatea closed her eyes for a moment.

"I told you to stop... but he was reaching for his sword, so let’s call it a happy accident."

Cedric curled in on himself, clutching his broken wrist against his chest while blood dripped from his nose onto the floor. He tried to crawl backwards, but Luvia planted one foot on his back and pinned him in place with a sneer.

"Stay."

She spoke to him like a dog, grinning as his body trembled with shame.

Yet, he couldn’t fight back.

"The knights should be here soon enough, along with our dear master."

Even Galatea couldn’t help but call him Master after that long night of suffering and bliss... She exhaled slowly, then glanced toward the far end of the hall.

Luvia’s smile beamed a little at Galatea’s words.

Her eyes lifted, watching the hallway as the sound of metal tapping against stone increased.

"He’s coming."

Galatea’s fingers tightened around her robe.

Several seconds later, Luka appeared around the corner.

Levi followed behind him with several of the old Babylon knights, who had stopped farther back at the old steward’s raised hand. Luka’s gaze moved once over the scene, there was a suble smile deep within them.

Galatea in a loose robe, barely standing straight as her body and lips quivered. Luvia with blood on her knee, fists and a dagger in her hand. Cedric on the floor, bleeding, broken and whimpering.

His expression didn’t change, despite the situation.

Luka glanced back up at Galatea before he asked. "What happened here?"

Cedric tried to speak first, crawling free of Luvia’s boot, approaching Luka as if finding salvation due to his cold expression.

"My Lord Babylon, this savage wench attacked me without cause. I was merely asking for directions when she..."

Luka stepped on his chest.

Thud!

Though he didn’t apply enough force to crack the bone or injure the knight, it dealt a heavy blow to Cedric’s pride as a man.

"Did you call my women, wenches?"

"W-What no?!" Cedric blustered as he tried to explain.

"I did not ask you."

His words caused the knight to gasp, struggling to breathe as Luka put more weight onto Cedric’s chest.

Luka looked at Luvia.

"Speak."

Luvia shrugged, though the wild excitement had not fully left her eyes.

"He mistook me for a cheap maid, called me a filthy whore and slut who should kneel and suck his cock, called me all the common names you humans use for dark elves, then grabbed my wrist and tried dragging me into that room to rape me."

Luka’s gaze shifted toward the half-open door, then back to Cedric, and then glanced up at Galatea.

"Is that true?"

Because she struggled to stand throughout the discussion, Galatea’s face remained cold and resolute, the faint tremors in her muscles almost invisible if you didn’t know her state.

With legs like jelly, she nodded.

"I heard enough from inside my room."

Luka’s foot pressed slightly harder.

Cedric wheezed.

"My Lord, this is a misunderstanding. I only wished to offer courtesy to your household staff. The dark elf twisted my words because her kind is naturally..."

Luka lowered his gaze.

"I dare you to finish that sentence."

Cedric stopped.

The silence became suffocating.

Luka crouched, resting one arm across his knee as he looked down at the knight.

"Sir Cedric, yesterday you insulted my land, stared at my knight like a starving beast, and carried yourself as though Babylon existed beneath your boots. I tolerated it because you came bearing the Queen’s decree."

His voice stayed quiet.

"Today, you entered the inner sleeping wing without permission, searched for a maiden’s private sleeping chamber and in the process tried to drag one of my women into a room by force. Not only do you insult the honour of knights who serve the Queen and crown, but alas, you have insulted the honour of Lady Galatea, who already has a betrothed."

Cedric’s eyes widened.

"Your... women?"

He probably didn’t catch it the first time, but once Luka repeated himself, the knight immediately caught on. It was impossible to miss the sudden change in Galatea, the way she coldly stared at everyone but Luka.

Not to mention her current state.

"Levi."

"Yes, my Lord."

"Record the testimony of every servant who saw him enter this wing. Record Luvia’s statement. Record Galatea’s statement. Then send a formal letter to the Crown explaining that Sir Cedric violated guest protocol, threatened Babylon’s household, and was restrained after assaulting a woman under my protection."

Levi bowed.

"At once."

Cedric’s face turned pale beneath the blood.

"You cannot do this. I came under royal authority."

"You came under royal authority as a messenger, not as a rapist. Even the Queen wouldn’t forgive you for sullying her name like this."

Luka’s lips slightly curled into an upward arc as he watched Cedric’s face turn pale.

"This insult shall never be forgiven! It will reach the Queen, then you’ll be finished! You little insignificant lord!"

The knights grabbed Cedric, dragging him to his feet as Luka turned away, a large smirk on his lips as he whispered. "Good, do make sure she hears every detail."

This time Cedric just froze, and for the first time he seemed to realise something, that this time his rank wouldn’t be enough to free him.

Luka turned to Galatea.

"You should be in bed."

Her face reddened at once. freēwebnovel.com

"I am perfectly able to stand."

"Don’t fight me, just go back and take a day’s rest. I have taken care of the knights’ training today, so sleep. This is an order and command, as your Master!"

Galatea’s cheeks instantly turned red as she gasped at his words.

The earlier comments between her and Luvia, awakening the scenes and things she said the night before, begging him for more, pleading for him to impregnate her... all sorts of embarrassing things.

"...Fine."

She took his hand. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Luka supported her without making it too obvious, letting her lean against him as they turned from the corridor.

Behind them, Luvia looked down at Cedric with a sweet smile.

"You heard him, dog. Try not to die before your shame reaches the capital."

However, Cedric didn’t speak; he only watched the fading back of Galatea and Luka entering the private room together, his heart clenching as it tore into shreds.

To Galatea, he was nothing but a fool, a mere dog!
