Abby’s POV
Matt, Kaiden and the warriors are about to drag them to the dungeons, but I stop them. They need to be interrogated before we decide, but by the way they tried to sneak away, they seem to have a guilty conscience of some sort.
"Wait. We need to get some answers before leaving them to rot." My voice is cold and I stare them down. Alpha Godric avoids my eyes, while the other looks into them without breaking contact. When he lifts his eyebrow, it hits me in the gut where I have seen him before.
"What unfortunate pack has gotten you as their Alpha?" I spit at him. His laugh makes my skin crawl, and sensing my murderous intents, Matt wraps his arms around me.
"Careful Peter. Yes, I recognise you!" I say as he stares at me. A smirk is playing in the corners of his mouth. He takes a deep breath.
"Mmmh. Still smells wonderful, Abigail. My mouth almost runs in waters, and I can’t wait to actually get to taste you some day. And I will, don’t worry." He licks his lips in anticipation.
"Baby, where do you know him from?" Matt asks calmly. If he is trying to provoke my mate, he is losing fast. Matt knows I was a virgin and untouched when we were together that first time. But he is not liking the underlining meaning of Peter’s words.
"He tried to rape me back at Black Moon, before you came and got me out of there." I state matter-of-factly, not breaking eye contact with the seething Alpha.
"Then I kicked his ass for trying to touch me and not being my mate." I then proceed to tell the surrounding people.
"Well, aren’t you still a cocky bitch? I’ll get you one day, just you wait! This is not over. We are more than just us two who despise this bullshit, and we will win in the end. This is only just the beginning. I will watch over my should if I were you!"
"Well, aren’t you still an ugly and stupid little idiot, huh? That took little to get you to talk. Thank you!" I smirk at him as realization dawn on him. Alpha Godric is furious with his companion and yells at him for telling us so easily. He hangs his head.
"Well, seeing as you both are now facing the accusations of treason, I revoke your titles as Alphas. The respective packs will fall under your neighbours. Alpha Derek, Cedric and Nicolas?" I look around as three men walk forward.
"Do any of you have anything against me or our current situation?" I fold my arms over my chest, calling forth my ability to make them only speak the truth.
"No, my Queen." All three say in unison. I nod.
"Then you will help rule over the two packs without an Alpha. Alpha Cedric and Nicolas, you will divide the people from the silver river pack, or let them know they are under your joint jurisdiction from now on. Alpha Derek, we will help you with the nightfall pack if this becomes necessary. Which reminds me; Alpha Lawrence, if you’d please?" They all looked at me with wide eyes, not sure how to take the news that I knew all the packs by heart. I had made it a mission to memorize the packs, leaders and placement when I became aware I was their Queen. The same with all the covens.
A tall, broad man with a stern face came forward next. He looked down into my eyes, searching for something. Then he nodded and kneeled down.
"Before you ask Queen Abigail. I have been one to doubt this new direction our species has been taking. When word spread of a new Queen and King to rule us all, fellow Alphas and some witches and wizards opposing this new monarchy approached me and my Luna. We took in their words and talked it over. We decided to let the doubt be at your benefit and see who your were at heart before making the final decision. I am truly sorry for my and my Luna’s doubt towards you!" He bows his head as a beautiful blond walks up to him. She looks me in the eye as well, kneels down and bows her head.
All this formalia is getting me a giant migraine, but I shake it off.
"Stand, both of you." When they do, I smile and take Matt’s hand in mine. He lifts it and kisses it before chuckling at me, cussing him over mind-link. This is absolutely not the time for that. But does he care, nope?
"I understand the hesitation. And I am touched by your honesty. There will be no precautions. You are in your right to be doubtful, but I promise to be a fair and just ruler. "As you witnessed, I took away Freya’s title as Luna and if memory serves me right, she was ruling without a mate?" At Lawrence’s nod, I continue.
"I would like for you and your beautiful Luna to take over her pack, fuse it with yours. Make sure everyone there is taken care of and looked after. Those who want to join family in other packs are welcome to do that, or if they want to join Silver Moon, then we will take them in with open arms. Would you take that job on your shoulders? It is one of the poorest packs there is, so they won’t have much. The land will, of course, become yours, as long as your treat it with care and love." They mind-link for a second before nodding.
Kaiden has already taken the task of following the accused Alphas to the dungeons as I was delegating packs and duties to the others.
We all start to make our way to lunch when a scream sounds behind me, and a crazed elderly man attacks me.
