Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Deam Inferna
The Third Person’s POV
While Morgan was having a standoff with the goddesses and planning a rescue, Abby was being hugged by her littlest sister. She didn’t know a blind passenger had jumped on in the last second, before her voice rang out in the room.
"Willow. Is that really you?" Her voice was timid, and she sounded a lot younger than usual. Abby looked back, and there, behind her with tears in her eyes, stood. Ellie.
"Ellie!" Willow yells, before she runs into the outstretched arms of her big sister, who is now ugly-crying with happiness.
"It is you! But how, where, when?" Ellie is asking is disbelief.
"I would like to know the answer to that as well." Abby says sternly, but her eyes contain nothing but the happiness of seeing her sister once again. Then something hit her.
"Ellie! What the actual FUCK! You hopped on that teleportation without knowing where we were going. You could have gotten killed!" Abby yells. She just realized her sister blindly jumped on, not knowing what dangers they may land in.
Ellie looks unperturbed.
"Yes, I did, and I would do it again." She answers with equal anger, and when Abby opens her mouth to argue, Ellie sighs.
"Abby! You are my Queen, my soul sister and my actual sister. I will always try to protect you, and I felt that teleportation coming on through our link. So, no. I didn’t have to think about it. I jumped on to make sure you were alright and to do my duty to you as my Queen and sister. You can yell all you want, but that changes nothing." Ellies takes in a deep breath.
"I would do it again in a heartbeat." She finishes.
Abby can’t help but smile at the stubborn girl beside her. One minute she sounds young, vulnerable and soft. The next she is as tough as they come.
Willow looks between her sisters. She doesn’t know how they have come here, but she is grateful none the less.
"Where are we, Willow?" Abby asks, changing the subject not so subtly. Ellie laughs, but her interest and curiosity are peaked.
"Uhm.. Well.." Willow looks down, not daring to look at either of her sisters.
"This is the..." She takes a deep breath.
"This is the underworld. Know as Deam Inferna, goddess hell." A deep voice rings out. The girls all turn around. There in the doorway stands Jax. He smiles at them before walking in.
"Your Majesty, Luna Ellie. It is good to see you both again." He bows elegantly before they captured him in a big hug.
A knock on the door interrupts the family reunion
"Come in." Jax calls out. As the door open, a young female with cold eyes and a fake smile pokes her head in.
"Your father requests your presence, Jax. And those." She stares at Abby, Ellie and Willow with contempt. Especially Willow gets the evil stare. Both Abby and Ellie growl at the woman’s hostility towards their sister. She rolls her eyes, but takes a step back as Abby walks towards her.
"What’s your name, demon?" Abby asks in an icy voice. Her eyes are shooting lightning, and Galaxy is begging to come forward and teach this bitch some manners.
"None of your business, Wolfie girl." She answers nonchalantly, but her eyes hold fear and hatred.
"Wrong answer." Abby says, standing nose to nose with the rude stranger. She flashes her aura and her eyes shine, making Galaxy more present. The woman’s eyes widen. Then she huffs.
"As I have said to the little Princess, position and birthright clearly aren’t everything. But okay. My name is Narine, but please don’t talk directly to me too often. I don’t like the stench of wolf." Narine sneers at Abigail, who doesn’t look perturbed at all.
"Uh huh, and I don’t like a rude, bitchy demoness coming here like she owns the damn place. And I especially don’t like when she illustrates contempt towards my family, so I will tell you this; I am not living down here, lucky you, but I will raise hell and more if you as much as think about being rude, nasty or unfriendly to my little sister. Am I in any way unclear, Miss..." Abby looks at Jax, whose eyes are dancing in amusement.
"Narine Caligo, Abby." Jax answer with a not-so-subtle disgust.
"Am I in any way unclear, Miss Caligo?" Abby asks the seething demoness.
Instead of answering, Narine turns around after telling Jax again that his father wants to see him and the guests. She takes one last look at Abby before she leaves.
"This isn’t over, pathetic little Queen." She whispers.
Ellie walks over to Abby. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"What did she say?" She asks, worry clear in her eyes. Abby shakes her head.
"It doesn’t matter." She answers.
"Jax, who is your father, btw? And do you know how we got here?" Abby asks as Jax follows them out of the room and down the hall.
"Uhm, yeah.. Well. My father is the King of demons. Laurus." He answers quickly. Maybe if he says it in a hurry, it will be less of a shock.
Ellie stops dead in her tracks, mouth agape and eyes narrowed. Abby, on the other hand, looks calm and collected.
"Yeah, I gathered as much with the aura I felt at the hospital. That or you were a high-ranking demon of sorts." She says with a shrug.
"What I don’t understand is how you became a shifter?" Jax shakes his head.
"That, I’m afraid, is a tale for another time." Abby nods as Ellie takes the word.
"You knew?" Ellie says as she stares at Abby in disbelief. Abby nods as if this isn’t a major revelation.
Jax laughs. He underestimated Abby and her observation skills once again. This was the third time. The first was when they came to her pack the first time. He didn’t think anyone would notice him in particular if he hid under the radar, but Abby had sensed then already something was not as it seemed regarding him.
The second and third time were at the hospital. She knew by his reaction Willow was his future mate, something he knew she had kept to herself too, otherwise Ellie would have questioned him more, and then when he released his aura to transport himself to the underworld, she knew what he was. He would make sure to not underestimate her a fourth time.
