Chapter 44: Chapter 44 The Final
Unknown POV
Selene had finally sent for me. I was about to meet my mate, and as excited as I felt, I was also highly aware of the urge to bitchslap him in the face for being a pompous, purist, and ignorant asshole towards the Queen and every pack member. Taking up the role as Alpha. Stepping in his father’s ignorant footsteps.
He had set foot in the path of redemption after the meeting with Sylla and Annika, but was he really changed, or was it a facade? It was not his first meeting with Sylla and I kept wondering why that meeting had been a turning point? I guess I would get the chance of asking him, now that I was on my way to meeting him.
On my right, my she-wolf is walking. She is a proud creature. Sassy but friendly. We bonded the second we met in Selene’s world. My wolf is beautiful, if I say so myself. She is tall with fur as deep green as it almost looks black. Her eyes are resembling amethysts and her tail has stripes of silver, light purple, and gold. She is definitely a sight to behold.
Selene came to my parents, explaining to them what my fate was and why she had to take me away to her world, so I wouldn’t run into my mate pre-time. He had a lot to show for himself before she would deem him ready for his second chance.
Yes, I know I am his second chance mate, and I also know about every transgression he has made since childhood. Selene was completely transparent with me and my wolf, so we knew what to expect.
We are walking slowly towards the group of people when Astra breaks the silence between us.
’He knows we are coming. His wolf has just reached out to me. They are nervous and afraid we will reject them for what they have done.’ Her voice is smooth and soothing, though an annoyed edge had crept into it. I smile at her and put my right hand on her back. Astra purrs a bit, showing her contentness at being with me.
As we neared the group, I see my mate. He is standing frozen to the spot, wide eyes and mouth slightly agape. He is hot! Even more so close up. His ice-blue eyes bore into mine, as if looking for something. His skin a dark golden, with rugged black hair. I was no small woman, and my mate still towered over me with a broad body filled with rippled muscles. The tribal tattoos covering his arms. My mouth instantly watered when his scent invaded my nostrils; fresh cut grass and honey. It was so soothing and sexy.
Astra laughed in my mind at all the dirty thoughts his scent alone made me think. Damn, was this the matebond already? I shook my head as to clear it. We needed to have a talk before I gave into the matebond.
Daemon’s POV
She was walking so slowly. Her scent wafted towards me, and Jackson stirred. He had been sulking in the back of my mind since Selene announced we were not ready to meet our second chance mate. Jackson wanted nothing more than to have her by our side, to protect and love. He didn’t care who or what she was, as long as she didn’t reject us, which there was a fair possibility of. He purred, sat up, and panted. I knew what that had to mean. Her smell was the sweetest I had ever encountered. Even Abby didn’t compare. Her scent of honeysuckles and lavender was absolutely mesmerising.
I stood frozen in place, not able to move. She had me at the mercy of her hands already. Or rather, her words. I already knew I didn’t care if she was a mix or pure wolf. She. Was. Mine!
As she got closer, I could get a better view of her, and she was fucking gorgeous. A word I would have never used, but there was no other way to describe her. My mate was a petite girl with long, slender legs and a toned body. All movements seemed fluent and agile. Her skin was a light chocolate, with deep, drown eyes, with freckles of green under arched eyebrows. The face held soft features, a mouth of full lips and a strong chin. The hair is Abrun in color, going down to the middle of her back in loose curls.
We locked eyes for a moment; hers seem curious. Whereas I was searching for some cue of her feelings or intentions. Her eyes narrowed slightly, her emotions in check. I gulped.
She finally reached our little group of people and goddess. I give her a little smile, to which she frowns. Oh no.
Abby and Matthew stare at me with a knowing glint in their eyes. They know.
My mate ignores me at first, kneeling before our rulers. Her wolf goes down on her front legs, bowing too.
"My Queen, My King. It is an honor finally meeting the both of you. My name is Isadora and my wolf is Astra." She says with a low, melodic voice. I just want to snatch her up from the ground and never let go. Jackson keeps shouting at me to go get her, and convince her we have changed and she needs to give us a chance to love her and be loved in return.
When did the feared Alpha of Black Moon become a lovesick puppy?
"Please rise, Isadora and Astra." Abby says in a gracious voice. Isadora stands still with her head slightly bowed, not daring to look the Queen in the eyes.
"Isadora, I need to ask you two very important questions?" Abby says. Isadora nods solemnly.
"First question; is Daemon your mate?" Isadora looks up in pure astonishment, but cast her eyes down again immediately and nods silently.
"Second question; which elemental powers do you have and please look at me? I won’t eat you or anything." Abby laughs.
"I.. Uh. How did you.. Well, of course you would know. Uhm. I am an earth elemental, your Majesty." She stumbles over the words as if star struck. Abby’s aura is strong and imposing at first, but the longer you are in its presence, the more you get used to it.
Aby smiles a big radiant smile, looking over my mate and her beautiful wolf. She has that glint in her eyes again.
"Well, please just call me Abby. This is Matthew, my mate and King." She starts, "and if I’m not mistaken, you are the fifth and final star wolf?" She states in a question, looking between Selene and Isadora. Selene smiles.
"She indeed the fifth star wolf. She is the last of the four elemental sisters. The soul sister of their Queen, who is a mix of all the elementals. Have you never noticed your wolf, Abigail?" Selene answers the questions, while asking one herself. freeweɓnovel.cøm
I feel kind of left out here, as I have never set my eyes on Abby’s wolf. I was not on the battlefield the day Matthew found her, because my father insisted on me staying in the packhouse to look after the pack, in case something happened while he was away. Truth be told, he just didn’t want me anywhere near Abby or her wolf.
