Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Sisters, and Mates
The Third Person’s POV
- Six days later-
As everything settles in the pack, Ellie and Jason agrees to get to know each other.
Ellie keeps living in Silver Mist, because she does not want to leave Willow, and Willow does not want to leave Silver Mist and Abby. It was at a point of no return and everyone agreed that this would have to do until we could make a new solution. Jason was not keen on having his mate living in another pack, let alone not have her at night, but this was what made Ellie and Willow happy, so for now, he would let it be.
Kaiden and Jax came back the day after Morgan joined the pack, and Winter was luckily with them.
She had not been easy to convince, but when Jax mentioned she would live and teach the Queen and her King more about their powers and magic, and be close to Ellie and Willow, she had agreed at last. They had not mentioned that their King, who was yet to be crowned, was a werewolf. They had both agreed it would be dangerous waters, and would let the girls, Abby included, handle that news.
Winter took to Abby at once, fussing and scolding like a real grandmother. She was not very fond of all the werewolves, or that her future king would be a werewolf. But after talking to Abby and Ellie, who also told her about Jason, she said she would them the benefit of the doubt, although she told the guys to treat her girls like Queens and do right by them, to which both Abby and Ellie had blushed deep.
Abby was so happy her family kept growing. The day after Morgan had joined, she had turned up marked- and with a wolf. Her wolf was named Antares.
Was this going to happen to Ellie as well? Abby kept asking herself that question? Ellie had also thought about it since the day Morgan turned up as a hybrid, and she had grown more nervous as time passed on. Abby could feel her sister’s panic growing and talked to her.
"Ellie, come on, we are going for a walk." Abby says as she enters the kitchen in at lunch. Ellie looks up at her sister, sandwich in hand and a defiant look in her eyes.
"I’m not in the mood to talk, Abby." She answers. But Abby crosses her arms.
"I was not asking, sister dear! We are going for a walk and you and I are going to talk, so come on! Take the darn sandwich with you if you can’t wait to eat." The look in Abby’s eyes tells Ellie, if she is not going by herself, her sister is going to drag her ass out. She sighs.
"Okay, okay. I’m coming. But I am not in the mood for talking." Ellie clarifies. Abby shrugs her shoulders and gestures for her sister to go out first.
The two girls walk around the pack lands. They watch the warriors meditate during training. They see children run around with a ball at recess at the school. The smaller kids are playing in the playground, watched by mothers and nannies.
They walk to the east side of the pack lands, and watch the progress of the new homes for the Rising Sun Coven. It is already coming along, and you can see werewolves and witches working side by side. Strength and magic coming together in harmony and understanding. Abby finds herself proud of her pack and her progress as Queen. They walk in silence, enjoying the cooler weather. Greeting people as they go about.
Ellie is the one to break the silence between them.
"I’m scared Abby. Scared of failing Jason, his pack, and myself. Scared that I can’t be the mate and the Luna, he needs me to be. But mostly; I’m scared if I let him mark me, I’ll get a wolf and it doesn’t want to be with me. Who has ever heard about a demon/wolf hybrid? It’s ridiculous. I should just reject him and let him have a chance of finding some else." Ellie sighs and brushes the tears away with a fierce movement. She is not one to cry, but this hurt so much. She wants to be with Jason. He has been so patient the last few days. Let her take the lead, done everything in her tempo and let her know he will wait as long as he needs too. But Ellie was so afraid. What if he grows tired of her? freewebnσvel.cøm
"Ellie." Abby stops at a bench in the pack park. She sits down and moves for Ellie to do the same. frёeωebɳovel.com
"Do you want to be with Jason?" Abby asks and watches as Ellie gives a brief nod.
"Well, then you should! What is the holdup? You will know nothing if you don’t take the leap of faith. Jason is crazy about you and only has eyes for you whenever you are in the room. I have seen how his eyes follow you the past three days whenever you are in his proximity. He deserves a mate who wants him and as do you!" Ellie can feel the tears stream down her cheeks.
"Besides, I bet Selen is ripping her out in frustration right now from your stubbornness. She paired you with Jason for a reason, not only to irritate her sister but also because she has seen something in you that will make a great Luna and wolf!" Abby continues after a brief silence.
"But what if he grows tired of me? What if I get a wolf, and she doesn’t want me to be her counterpart? I’m evil, Abby. Everyone says that. I am a demon and evil." The last part comes out in a bitter tone, and Ellie hates how the words have attached themselves to her heart. She refuses to be like they think, but she hurts every time someone won’t give her a chance, because of her genes.
"Okay, first; you need to get out of that self pity! You are not evil. Cold and distant at times, but definitely not evil. If you would just show people the real Ellie. The warm, funny, smiling and caring Ellie. You think I don’t see your looks towards Willow, Jason, Winter or even me? I see you, and I know you will make a great Luna for White Moon. Secondly; Jason will not grow tired of you! He already loves you. You own his heart, and he will do ANYTHING to make you smile. Just like Matt will do for me. And thirdly; any wolf will be lucky to have you as a counterpart. They will be crazy to complain." Ellie looks at her sister in awe. Never had anyone praised her like this, and she was not sure how to respond without crying.
