"What the actual fuck, Magoth! Why would you show up like that? Now Maze knows about you, and..." The slap sends me reeling back, and I cover my cheek with my hand. I have been furious ever since we came back to camp.
I can’t go back to the pack. Not now.
Everything I have worked for the last week has been for naught! And I had him! I had Maze just where I wanted. He had fallen out with that slut the Goddess had mated him to, and I had worked my way back. Staying out of sight and letting others do the dirty work. Every time I could account for my whereabouts when something happened, and every time they would drift more and more apart. And now. Nothing.
"Shut the fuck up, Mira! This your own fucking fault. If you had stayed put in their dungeon, you would have still been in the pack and could do your work. Now I have to rely on someone else. Someone I know I can trust to do what I say." I just know he is talking about that backstabbing bitch to Lillith, and I am not going to be bested by her! She is nothing compared to me, and I need Magoth to realize that. I have something up my sleeve, a little secret I am not going to share with him before it benefits me the most. And that time has not come yet.
"I wanted to see her destroyed." I pout, and Magoth shakes his head with amusement. I try a small smile, and steps closer to him, but he just turns around.
"I know you did, and that is one of your many flaws, pet. You have absolutely no patience. You need to go back to the pack. Tell them you fled because you were worried about The Alpha and his mate. You wanted to help. You saw the flaw in your schemes and wanted to help out."
"Like that is going to happen. They saw me clear as day in the forest." Magoth whirls around.
"THAT WAS AN ORDER, MIRA! YOU FUCKED UP! YOU ARE GOING TO FIND A WAY TO RECTIFY IT!" He roars so everyone around us stops what they are doing and stares at us. They are dead scared of Magoth, and when he is like this, I get why. But he has never been like this with me before, and it irks me that he has begun to treat me like a stupid child.
"Alright, alright. There’s no need to scream at me. Sheesh." I say with an eye roll. Magoth turns around again, walks into his tent, and tells me to get moving. I can hear him summon Lillith, who walks by with a sly smirk just a second later. She probably hovered around to gloat. Fucking slutty bitch! I am going to show her. Show him and show them all.
I leave camp when Lillith enters the tent. I am not going to wait around to hear her get what I have been wanting ever since he threw me out that night she came back with news. She has been his favorite ever since, and rubbing it in my face every time she could. It was why I decided to seek out Maze’s sluts former mate. I needed some background, and when Mason was desperate to get her back to be Alpha of her former pack, I saw an opportunity and rolled with it. He was an easy target and okay fuck. I travel to the pack, reaching it by nightfall. I know the patterns of the guards, and slide in unnoticed. Or so I thought.
"Crawling back to get forgiveness, or poison us all in our sleep, bestie?" The female voice asks from the shadows. I’ll know that voice everywhere. Amber. Why is she still here? Ain’t she supposed to be some Queen or something for the overgrown lizards?
"Why the fuck do you care? You don’t live here anymore." I answered, looking around until I saw her sitting by a tree stump. She stands up and walks out into the moonlight. She seems to be alone, and for one brief wonderful second I picture how it would feel killing her right here and now.
"You have some nerve coming back after the stunt you pulled! Why are you here, Mira? You are not welcomed anymore." I scoff.
"Again, why the fuck do you care, Amber? You are not even part of this pack anymore. You are socializing and fucking the enemy. You even had hybrid brats with them. Which is just absolutely disgusting, by the way." The bait is possibly too obvious, but I can’t hold in my contempt for her anymore. I have tried to play the loving friend for a week, and she has not bought my acting. It’s been very obvious she hates me for some reason or another.
"If you’re trying to get me to attack you, you are wasting your breath. I am not a fool, nor am I going to lay a finger on you. My mate, however, is not as patient as me and I will gladly let him kill you." I narrow my eyes, trying to see past Amber, but I can’t see or sense anyone else. Everyone thinks I am a weakling human. They have no idea what I really am now.
