Chapter 175: Chapter 175 The Queen of Fire
Amber’s POV
The throne room is one big inferno cover in death and screams from those who are not yet gone. Keres sits on her throne still, but she’s breathing heavily and her clothes are long gone. I haven’t seen Narine since before I let my fire rage throughout the room, and even though I hope she’s dead, in my heart I know better. She escaped before I could get to her, and I will forever be on the lookout for her revenge. I promise to myself and my family that this is the last time someone gets kidnapped. I need to be able to protect my family, and I know just how to do it - just got to do it. It’s a task for another time, but that time has to be closer than far because Keres will thirst for revenge as well after this.
I call my fire back to me, and it listens with ease, engulfing my figure instead. It dances over my skin and in my eyes. I know they are glowing with an orange and purple glow, and I know I’m a sight to see. This time Keres stepped over the line, and this time I will deliver that message myself.
Willow takes my hand, hers is warmer than normal, but nothing else has happened to her. She smiles at me, tears in her eyes. I’m not sure if they are tears of sadness, concern, joy or pride? fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Pride, and a small smidge of concern. I thought your mother was a powerful Queen, but you, my dear. You are thrice as powerful as she was and still is." Willow says. Her thought reading powers are just as prominent and hard to tame as always.
"Thank you. I think." She chuckles, when Keres’ voice interrupts our moment.
"You made your point, Amber. Now please leave my realm before you destroy any more of my home with that disgusting bright flame of yours." I quirk an eyebrow.
"I thought it was totally within the rules to break into someone else’s home and wreak havoc. Isn’t that what you have done over the years? Gone into peoples homes and stolen or destroyed persons and belongings as you please? Not so fun when it’s your own home. Your own people, huh. Well, too friggin bad!" I turn away from the seething goddess, concentrate and send a small, but bright as a sun, flame out the door. It scours through the castle - which I assume this is, without having looked upon it from the outside, and I can hear the cries of agony and suffering as my flame comes into contact with the dark creatures. Keres pales more than ever, feeling the pain of her people. But this is just a small price for her to pay for the pain and suffering she’s inflicted on me, my family and everyone else in the upper realm.
"Amber! It’s enough!" Someone from behind me says. I turn around to see both Selene and Solei standing there in all their ethereal glory. I roll my eyes at her and keep doing what I’m doing. She’s not going to stop me, and I’m on a mission right now.
"Did you not hear my daughter, you insolent little..." I hold up my hand.
"You can keep your charming words to yourself, Solei. I heard her, and I’m ignoring her. And you for that matter. If someone is an insolent little brat, then it would be you and your children." Willow gasps, as her hands fly to her mouth.
"AMBER!" She scolds, trying to grab my shoulder, but I shake her off. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"You and your daughters are the sole reason for this mess! You come here all high and mighty and want me to stop what I’m doing? It’s a joke right? You started all of this. You, AND your daughters did. And now you are going to reap the consequences of your choice." Solei narrows her eyes at me, imposing her aura, trying to make me submit to her. Willow whimpers under the force of the goddess, but I do not budge. They are at fault here, and will NEVER bow down to a goddess ever again. I am the Queen of Fire, and Solei has nothing on me.
I push Willow behind me, shielding her from the goddess’s tricks. I keep her hand in mine, so Keres, who is behind me, does not get any ideas. As a safety measure I call forth a blinding bright light and place it around my aunt. This way I’m sure no one is going to touch her.
"You think you can scare me with that little aura trick, Solei? You have another thing coming. I am the Queen of Fire, and I wield the flames of Hell! Do not ever think you can just walk in here and decide on my or my family’s behalf ever again. I’m tired of you five trying to manipulate and push us in a certain direction." Selene turns her undivided attention on me with the word "five".
"What do you mean?" She asks and I laugh.
"Do you really think I’m that stupid, Selene? You and your sisters - Keres, Ophelia and Monica. Then you are your mother. That makes five divine creatures who think it’s funny to meddle in the lives of their children solely for their own gain. I know! And I remember. Everything." Selene raises her hands.
"Amber, I’m only here because I don’t want you to make a mis..."
"Don’t even try it, Selene! You hate your sister and what she’s trying to do with the war coming up. And you of all people should be happy I finally decided to do something. But here you are - hypocrisy at its best! You leave me, my family and everyone else alone or I swear on my childrens lives; I will destroy all of you!" I turn my head to look Keres in the eyes, and then I do the same with Solei. I don’t really have a beef with Selene, but she’s done meddling with my life or the life of the people I love! Selene nods hesitantly, but before I can teleport out, she mind-links me.
’I really need to speak to you and your family, Amber. It’s of utmost importance and I’ll explain what is going on. Please give me this last opportunity.’ I look at her, nod once and then I’m gone with Willow at my hand. I left a little token for Keres to keep her occupied for the foreseeable future.
