Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Catch up Girl Time

Amber’s POV

We spent last night talking, and even though I have both sympathy and empathy for Rose’s story, I still am not sure if I trust her? She seems sweet enough, but there is something with her I can’t quite point out. Then there was the look between her and Tristan. I need answers, and I have a feeling I am not the only one.

Blaze has been acting strange since last night, and I think he is very divided in his thoughts about all of this. Just a month ago he was alone in this world, and now he has a twin brother, he’s a Prince and has a mate with said twin brother. Then this aunt comes along, and he finds out his real father is a right piece of shit. I would have been all over the place emotionally as well. freewёbnoνel.com

As we went to bed last night, we were just cuddling and talking about everything. I’m still in two minds about Chase having known about everything, but never said anything. I understand his reasons, but still. We’re mates. free𝑤ebnovel.com

After breakfast the next morning, I introduced the girls to Glaciel and Merida. They all take to each other immediately, and Glaciel and Merida promise to look after my daughters. I ask Glaciel if everything is okay between her and Tristan, and she tells me he has been the perfect mate. He is attentive, funny, and loving. She has no doubt about him, and has not experienced anything out of the ordinary. As to not alarm her, I ask Merida the same questions.

"The only disheartening thing is my parents don’t seem to accept my mate. They told me to reject him, come home and they’ll find me a nice and respectable merman. But I don’t want that." Merida has tears in her eyes, and Glaciel and I give her a group hug.

"But haven’t you told them you are marked and mated? Hold up one fucking minute.." I look at them both, and both of them are laughing their asses off.

"You are both marked! When, how, where... WHAT! You didn’t tell me." I cross my arms in fake anger.

"Yeah, well you’ve been kind of busy with the whole kidnapping, twice, ordeal, and then you’re going into heat. What happened with that btw?" I think for a moment, totally forgetting everything else. They are right. I was going into heat, but then we mated and marked each other.

’Ignis! What do you know?!’

’I have no idea what you are implying.’

’Drop the crap. What happened with the heat?’

’Well, I had to do something. You weren’t going to get any action anytime soon, so I might have...’

’OMG! You faked it! You faked us going into heat, so we would mate and mark. DAMMIT Ignis! That is not okay.’

’That’s not what you thought the other night.’ She laughs and retracts to the back of my mind. Clearly, she is very satisfied with herself.

"My fucking insane and sex craving wolf faked me going into heat, so I would mate with the boys and we would mark each other." I roll my eyes, as the girls laugh again.

"I’m so glad my troubles amuse you."

"Oh, honey! What would you have her do? You keep getting into trouble.."

"I don’t intend to do that! Trouble finds me, not the other way around, Glace."

"I know, babe. But the point still stands. You keep disappearing from the King and Prince, and your wolf just makes sure you are easier to be found the next time."

"I’m not getting kidnapped again."

"You sure about that, Amber?" I rolled my eyes at them, realizing they completely took me off topic.

"Hey! No fair changing the topic like that."

Melody and Elina look between me and the others not knowing what to think. They have been following our conversation with rising amusement and interest.

"Why don’t you girls go and color for a bit? We’ll be right through the door, okay?" I ask, realizing we might have to take the conversation to the other room.

"Okay, Mom." They say, and give all three of us a hug before running to the table with the drawing things.

They guys are gone doing some work regarding securing that Callus does not return without us knowing. I know I also need to go and talk to the men from yesterday’s trial, but I have not had the time yet. Right now I want the girl’s stories, but they have other plans.

"So, we know you wanted to talk to the former guards. How about we do that now?" Merida says, and I laugh.

"As long as you tell me about those marks. Haven’t you told your parents, Mer?"

"We mated and marked each other while you and the guys were catching up at the pack, after your first kidnapping. But me and Glace were terrified, so we made a deal to do it as soon as you were back. And no, I have not told them. I think they will actually try and come here to kill him, just to force me to come back with them. Although I have no intention to go back."

"But you are their Princess?"

"And I am a girl. They tell the world I will take over the throne, but actually, it will be my future husband that will be the true ruler. I have a little brother, who will be a great replacement for me. He is smart, kind, and caring. My father thinks he is weak, but with him as King.." She shrugs. I nod.

I poke my head into the other room.

"Girls, change of plans. I need to talk to someone. Do you wanna come with me, or do you want to stay here with Aunt Glaciel and Aunt Merida?" The other two look surprised at my titles for them, but of course, they are aunts for my girls. They are my people. My best friends, and have been here for me from almost day one.

"We want to stay with Aunty Merida and Gliel," Melody says, not saying Glaciel’s name correctly. I open my mouth to help her, but Glace shakes her head.

"I like it, let it be."

I wave goodbye, intending to stop by Tristan as well. And then I need to have a little talk with Ezra. I need to do it within the next couple of hours, because after lunch we are going to speak with Berion.

I take the hallway down to the basement where our cells are. There I see Tristan sitting with another guard I don’t know. He springs to his feet when he sees me, and his companion does the same.

"My Queen. What do we owe this pleasure?"

"I need to speak to Jasper and Merion," I say. "And afterward I want a private word with you, Tristan." He nods, finds the keys, and opens the cell door for me.

The two men stand and bow.

"My Queen." They say in unison. I gesture for them to sit on the cots in the cell, and Tristan brings me a chair.

"I’m sorry I haven’t been to visit before now. I wanted to talk to you before you are sent home." Tristan leans on the door, not leaving me alone with the men.

"No apologies needed, my Queen. We are honored you are here." I smile, asking Ignis to help me. I need to see if my mom’s ability has been passed on.

"My daughters were big speakers for a lessened punishment, and I trust them. But I need to hear it from your own mouth. What happened?" The question is laced with my magic, and they straightened up.

"We were playing dice, and the others kept insisting on drinking a special wine one of them had gotten from home. It tasted good, but then everything became hazy." Jasper says. "I kept having the feeling something was wrong, but my mind felt like a puddle of mudd. I thought I was saving you, your Majesty. Though my heart was heavy with guilt, my mind kept believing we were doing the right thing." Merion nods.

"We have always been loyal to the Prince, now King, and we would never do anything in our own free will to hurt him, or his mate. We are so sorry for what happened!" He looks at Jasper. "We both woke in here, not knowing what was going on until our mates came to visit us. They told us we were being charged with treason." I nod. Just as I thought. They were really innocent.

"I am sorry this happened to you. The sentence stands, but I will be in contact with you both to make sure everything is alright. You seem close."

"We are best friends, my Queen. We have been together all our lives, and our mates are sisters." Wow, talk about coincidence.

"I will make sure your families will not miss a thing! We are going to take care of you both, and your mates. I promise, you are still part of our community and family. As are all our people. You are innocent in the actions done, but they were done nonetheless, and therefore must the sentence be carried out in life. I hope you understand." They both nod.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. We are truly sorry." I stand with a smile.

"Tristan, make sure both men and their mates are taken care of after we had our talk. They are to be treated fairly and their lives are not going to be in poverty. Am I clear?"

"Yes, my Queen."

One task down, two to go.
