Chapter 1199: Chapter 1199: Only Hatred Endures Through Time
"It would be best if Miss Seys could stay here for a few more days, get along well with our young master, and understand each other’s living habits in advance to avoid having to adjust after marriage."
Nanny Cox was straightforward and quick to speak, with a smile that brightened people’s mood.
Nicole felt quite embarrassed by Nanny Cox’s teasing.
Steven Cooper glanced at Nicole and smiled gently at Nanny Cox, "Nanny Cox, you should tidy up the room and get some sleep; it’s quite late."
If Nanny Cox continued teasing, what if Nicole felt so awkward that she’d leave by morning?
Although Nanny Cox voiced what he most wished to see, making Nicole feel uncomfortable wouldn’t be good.
There is plenty of time; when it comes to feelings, haste makes waste.
Nanny Cox obliged, thinking her young master found her presence a nuisance and wanted her out of the way. She gave them a knowing, content smile and hurried upstairs to prepare a room for Nicole.
Nicole gave Steven Cooper a grateful look; he had dissolved her embarrassment.
Steven Cooper smiled gently, his smile warm, "Go upstairs and rest well. Your room is next to mine; call me anytime if you need anything."
"Okay." Nicole nodded.
The guest room on the second floor.
Nicole lay on the bed, recalling Andrea Greenwood and Olivia Summer’s words, and those floral teas she drank daily at Clearflower Estate, feeling a mounting chill in her body.
Her sincere heart was met with Olivia Summer’s treatment and schemes, showing that the human heart is unpredictable. Just because you give your heart truly doesn’t mean others won’t repay you with the icy blade of betrayal.
Nicole closed her eyes, trying to discard these vexing thoughts, yet a scene from a few years ago resurfaced in her mind.
In a bar, a pair of pale, slender fingers reached out before her, and a cold voice echoed, "My name is Jose Floyd. Remember these three words; from now on, they will mean everything to you, for the rest of your life. Do you understand?"
"Jose Floyd." Nicole lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, whispering the name while biting her lip.
She could never forget these three words, for the pain and hurt they caused her were too great.
Wade and the child both died at his hands.
Nicole stared at the ceiling, her vision overlaid by the scene of their first meeting, dazing her.
"My name is Nicole. Shallow, like the tide." She stretched out her fingers to his broad palm.
Their hands clasped, and the slight coolness of his fingertips breezed into her heart.
During those years together, Jose Floyd and Nicole were a couple. In Nicole’s eyes, there was only Jose Floyd, and Jose Floyd truly cherished Nicole deeply.
But now, the names Nicole and Jose Floyd placed together, meant nothing but violent and bloody hate.
The only thing time couldn’t wash away was hatred...
In the middle of the night, Nicole lay on the bed, thinking of that person, that name, and her heart was inexplicably heavy and in pain...

Clearflower Estate.
Jose Floyd searched for a long time but couldn’t find Nicole, so he returned to Clearflower Estate.
He returned to the Manor Estate late into the night at midnight, and Andrea Greenwood, Olivia Summer, and Camden were all still there in the living room, not yet asleep.
Seeing him return, their eyes brightened a bit, staring straight at him.
"Brother Jose, you’re back. Mother and I were so worried about you." Andrea approached, a gentle and watery smile on her face.
Olivia Summer looked appreciatively at Andrea, who was so devoted with only her son in her eyes, further solidifying her belief that marrying Andrea into the family was an excellent choice.
Jose Floyd didn’t spare a glance at the few people in the living room, his chill yet to dissipate, and he headed upstairs immediately, vanishing from their sight....
