Chapter 624: Chapter 624: Impossible Things
Although the Secret Skill is very powerful, Xu Yi currently has no way to use it.
So, he didn’t go to learn it.
Once he completes the challenge, he can begin learning it.
Eleven days later, Xu Yi and Lu Ke reached the edge of the Level 7 Fierce Beast Territory.
At the boundary, the Foggy Area still existed.
So, distinguishing it is quite easy.
Whenever they encounter large stretches of the Foggy Area, it should be the boundary between the two territories.
"Finally arrived." Xu Yi looked at the distant Mist Forest and couldn’t help but say with a hint of joy.
The Level 7 Fierce Beast Territory had arrived, but this also meant he would soon part ways with Lu Ke.
After all, Lu Ke still needed to reach Level 6 Peak.
Otherwise, she could accompany Xu Yi all the way to the Level 8 Fierce Beast Territory.
"Yes, we’ve arrived." Lu Ke patted Bai Yu’s head, knowing Xu Yi would soon part with her.
There was no way around it, her strength was insufficient, so it had to be this way.
Let Xu Yi take her along?
If so, it would slow Xu Yi down, making his progress slower.
With all of humanity’s hopes resting on Xu Yi, how could Lu Ke be so selfish to just think of herself?
"If all goes well, Wang Jin and the others should arrive here in about 20 days. By then, you should wait for me here." Xu Yi said after landing.
Now, he needed to tame some Level 6 Peak Fierce Beasts to protect Lu Ke.
To save time, Xu Yi decided to set out the next day.
The path to the Level 8 Fierce Beast Territory was unknown.
The time left for Xu Yi was scarce; only 91 days were left of the 500-day countdown.
Ninety-one days to break through to Level 7 Peak and then rush to the Level 8 Fierce Beast Territory to hunt down ten Level 8 Fierce Beasts.
So, time was quite pressing.
Lu Ke nodded, watching Xu Yi step into the mist, then began clearing an area to set up camp.
There were many shrubs here, resembling thorny plants, so they needed to be cleared away.
Lu Ke then took out her Devouring Spirit and used Telekinesis to start clearing the plants.
Quickly, Lu Ke managed to clear a large area.
After finishing these tasks, Xu Yi hadn’t returned yet, so Lu Ke took out cooking utensils and started preparing dinner.
Shortly after finishing dinner, Xu Yi returned.
Along with him came four Level 6 Peak Fierce Beasts.
There were still many Level 6 Peak Fierce Beasts cultivating in the fog.
Taming them and subduing them took some time.
If he were to kill them, it would have been far easier.
"You tamed four so quickly?" Lu Ke said in surprise.
"Yes, quite smoothly." Xu Yi smiled slightly and then established a Spiritual Link between these beasts and Lu Ke.
After dinner, Xu Yi set up the tent.
One night quickly passed.
The next morning, Xu Yi had a plate of dumplings before setting off.
Though Lu Ke was reluctant, she said nothing.
Once Xu Yi entered the mist, he went looking for a Level 6 Peak Fierce Beast.
Lightning had just reached Level 6, so it couldn’t withstand Level 7 Spiritual Energy. So, it had to stay with Lu Ke.
Soon, Xu Yi tamed a Level 6 Peak Fierce Beast and rode south at full speed.
He directly used the Speed Doubling Skills on it, whenever its speed slowed, he’d activate the skill.
This way, the beast’s speed doubled that of Lightning’s.
With no other choice, Xu Yi wanted to reach the Level 8 Fierce Beast Territory as soon as possible, and although he knew this greatly damaged the beast, he didn’t hesitate.
In one day, that beast’s stamina and Telekinesis were exhausted by Xu Yi.
Then, Xu Yi immediately tamed another one and continued using the same method to rush forward.
Xu Yi’s goal was to reach the edge of the Level 8 Territory within 20 days.
So, he could only use such a brute method.
In the observation spaceship, No. 6 watched Xu Yi’s actions and clicked his tongue in amazement.
He knew Xu Yi had concealed his strength, but he hadn’t expected Xu Yi to be this formidable.
He could continuously use his Spiritual Power to drive the beasts, squeezing their Life Force to gain incredible speed.
Unfortunately, No. 6 no longer needed to report to anyone.
His superior was Xu Yi.
Ling Qi had made him Xu Yi’s subordinate, not as a joke or a conspiracy, but seriously.
In the future, Xu Yi was destined to become a battle ally with the Spirit God, confronting the Divine Race together.
Thus, No. 6’s role became significant to Xu Yi.
Xu Yi’s Battle Armor and the development of his Martial Techniques could all be handled by No. 6.
And even some combat logistics and supplies, No. 6 could manage.
No. 6 was specifically cultivated as a support talent by Ling Qi’s family. This allowed Ling Qi to focus on enhancing his own strength, more dedicatedly investing in battles.
The Spirit God also had such subordinates, not just one but a whole team, hundreds of people as a support team.
This is also why the Spirit God helped Xu Yi to develop relationships with those 499 individuals, as they were essentially the auxiliary team prepared for Xu Yi by the Spirit God.
Having the Spirit Race assist humans is unrealistic.
In the eyes of the Spirit Race, humans are weak creatures.
Just like how humans wouldn’t aid monkeys in conquering the world.
Because humans are far superior to monkeys, it’s impossible to assist them.
No. 6 was different; he owed Xu Yi a favor. Additionally, he knew Xu Yi thoroughly.
Of course, there was one more thing.
Xu Yi was much stronger than No. 6.
This was naturally under Ling Qi’s deliberate suppression; No. 6 had yet to break through to Level 6 Peak.
So, seeing Xu Yi so powerful made No. 6 happy.
He understood his master Ling Qi well; after entrusting himself to Xu Yi, he’d be Xu Yi’s subordinate for life, impossible to return to Ling Qi’s side.
Unless...
Xu Yi made Ling Qi his partner; then being with Xu Yi would be like being with Ling Qi.
But, is that possible?
Humans and the Spirit Race?
Don’t be ridiculous, it’s impossible!
No. 6 thought that even if the Spirit Race perished, they would not unite with humans.
If they did, it would still be impossible to produce offspring.
Ling Qi, being of the high-class Spirit Race, not reproducing would be a fatal blow to her family, and to other high-level Spirit Race as well.
This matter wouldn’t even require Ling Qi’s family; all high-level Spirit Races would oppose it.
For the Spirit Race, they have their own traditions and taboos.
Even after advancing to interstellar civilization for so many years, there wasn’t any instance of the Spirit Race interbreeding with other extraterrestrial beings.
Hence, No. 6 felt that no matter what, such cross-racial things would never happen.
Looking from this perspective, he could only be Xu Yi’s subordinate.
However, Xu Yi believed No. 6 and the Spirit Race were monitoring him.
Because he couldn’t believe the Spirit Race wouldn’t monitor him at all.
After all, the Spirit God knew he had some secrets.
Moreover, was it really true that the Spirit Race had no designs on Spirit Blue Star?
Xu Yi felt, while one shouldn’t have malicious intentions toward others, one must still guard against them.
If the Spirit Race had no ulterior motives, that would be ideal.
But if they did, once Xu Yi’s strength reached a certain level, he could sit down with the Spirit Race and have a proper discussion.
