Chapter 606: Chapter 606: Getting a Bit Anxious
These past few days, they could only feed Qin Yue some liquid food; anything else simply couldn’t be given.
So, what Wang Jin said wasn’t wrong; it was indeed a good thing for Qin Yue to escape the illusion sooner.
An hour later, Qin Chao arrived as expected.
Thus, Qin Fan went to pick up Qin Chao immediately.
The moment he caught a whiff of the Illusionary Flower Beast’s scent, he fell into the illusion. Then, Qin Fan carried him back and placed him on a cart.
Previously, Xu Yi asked them to move five hours a day, but in fact, they moved more than that each day.
They advanced during the day and set up camp to train at night.
This way, they could cover more distance and catch up a bit with Xu Yi’s group.
The closer they got, the quicker Xu Yi’s return would be.
The next morning, around ten o’clock, Xu Yi and Lu Ke arrived.
When Qin Fan and others spotted a few Fierce Beasts, they immediately knew those were the Level 6 Fierce Beasts tamed by Xu Yi.
They didn’t expect Xu Yi to be so capable, having already tamed three Level 6 Fierce Beasts.
With these Level 6 Fierce Beasts, they felt much safer. Moreover, they could even attempt trading with Lei Jie’s group.
Currently, Level 6 Fierce Beasts were still quite rare, so Xu Yi probably wouldn’t rush into trading too soon.
Li Kang’s group was still far from reaching Level 6, so there was no need to hurry. The longer the delay, the more anxious they would become to acquire Level 6 Fierce Beasts.
After Xu Yi arrived, he first had the snail inject the ’vaccine’ into Qin Yue and Qin Chao, helping them break free from the illusion.
However, Qin Yue, having been trapped for so long, did not immediately regain full consciousness.
So, Xu Yi used his Spiritual Power to awaken Qin Yue directly.
Then, Qin Yue stared blankly for a moment before gradually realizing she had been ensnared by the illusion.
"Continue forward or set up camp?" Qin Fan asked Xu Yi, although he was one of the last to break through, he was still the third-ranking member in the group. When Xu Yi and Lu Ke weren’t around, others still listened to Qin Fan’s instructions.
"Set up camp and take a break; we’ll head out again tomorrow." Xu Yi thought it was best to tame the snail once more so there could be a third person capable of commanding it.
The snail was different from other Fierce Beasts; it required taming to establish a mental connection with someone, understanding their intentions; otherwise, it couldn’t comprehend commands and couldn’t be directed.
Qin Fan nodded and immediately went to make arrangements.
Xu Yi sat cross-legged beside the snail, continuously using his Taming Skills on it.
Lu Ke pitched the tent and then went inside with Wang Jin to chat.
Some of the others trained while some chatted idly.
Everyone was glad to reunite with the full team.
That evening, they busied themselves making dumplings together.
Xu Yi also joined in, not overly worried even though he hadn’t successfully tamed the snail yet.
After all, Lightning could resist the Illusionary Flower Beast’s hallucinogenic scent, so White Feather probably could too. That left only the Black Qilin.
Making dumplings and chatting together felt like a festival or New Year’s celebration.
Everyone was particularly happy.
After dinner, Xu Yi continued working on taming the snail.
After confirming with Xu Yi that he wouldn’t be returning to the tent that night, Lu Ke asked Wang Jin to accompany her to sleep.
Xu Yi had mentioned not to overwork oneself with endless training, as occasional relaxation was necessary.
Taking his advice, Lu Ke decided to relax and took Wang Jin back into the tent to watch variety shows, snack, and chat, thoroughly unwinding.
There were still lots of movies, TV dramas, and variety shows stored on the computer Xu Yi brought, enough to watch for several years.
The tent shared by Xu Yi and Lu Ke was soundproof, so they could make as much noise as they wanted inside without disturbing others’ training.
At night, others needed to continue their training.
Xu Yi was quite lucky; by around 4 a.m., he successfully tamed the snail once more.
Then, Xu Yi established a mental connection between Lu Yao and the snail.
Since Lu Yao’s tent was closest to Xu Yi’s, and the entrance was open, it was easier to establish a mental connection.
As soon as the connection was made, Lu Yao sensed it and exited her Spiritual Meditation training, stepping out of the tent.
"Did something happen?" Lu Yao asked Xu Yi with some confusion.
Xu Yi stood up and explained, "I created a mental connection between you and the snail. Now, it can understand your commands."
Hearing this, Lu Yao couldn’t help but feel joy.
This meant she was now the third person able to command the snail?
"Xu Yi, is Lu Ke about to break through to Level 6?" Lu Yao asked upon seeing Xu Yi stretching his body.
She had heard from Lu Ke that after reaching the peak of Level 5, there was a stage of Spiritual Energy baptism.
Only after experiencing the baptism would one approach Level 6 infinitely.
While practicing the Body Refining Technique, Xu Yi said, "She could break through at any time, but it’s hard to say when exactly. When I broke through, it was quite sudden."
"Is it necessary to experience the Spiritual Energy baptism?" Lu Yao wanted to learn more, taking the opportunity while it was just her and Xu Yi.
"I’m not entirely sure either," Xu Yi replied, pausing to glance at Lu Yao, then continued, "Most likely, yes. After all, both Lu Ke and I went through that process."
"I understand your eagerness, but cultivating requires a calm mindset. The more impatient you are, the harder it is to break through."
Lu Yao nodded; she had indeed been somewhat anxious lately, eager for a breakthrough.
Perhaps it was that beautiful dream that had put quite a bit of pressure on her.
Seeing that Lu Ke had nothing more to say, Xu Yi resumed his training.
After daylight, Xu Yi and Lu Ke had breakfast and then parted ways with the group.
The three Level 6 Fierce Beasts were left behind by Xu Yi; now, if he found a Level 6 Fierce Beast, he could tame it. Thus, he and Lu Ke could share a ride when heading out.
After Xu Yi’s group left the campsite, Qin Fan’s group continued advancing south.
With the addition of three Level 6 Fierce Beasts, their speed increased. At the very least, the cart could be pulled by the Fierce Beasts, eliminating the need for them to take turns pushing it.
Thus, six individuals rode atop their mounts, while the remaining four sat on the cart. This way, training wasn’t delayed.
Life became more comfortable for Qin Fan’s group, but Lei Jie’s group grew anxious.
Lei Jie approached Jerry, expressing his concern, "Jerry, what should we do now? Xu Yi’s team has reunited, leaving only the three Fierce Beasts. Once they all advance, we’ll be trapped here."
Attempting to enter Level 6 Fierce Beast territory without breaking through to Level 6 was akin to seeking death.
They knew some Divine Masters could defeat creatures above their level, but it certainly wouldn’t happen with a Mage.
"There’s nothing we can do but wait. Qin Fan is a reliable person; since you asked him to relay the message to Xu Yi, he definitely will. If Xu Yi accepts the trade, he’ll send the Fierce Beasts over. If not, there’s no point in our anxiety." Since joining Lei Jie, Jerry had become calmer and focused all his energy on cultivation, giving him clarity on some matters.
