Chapter 54: Lazy Bum
As Ren walked toward the pair of Pale Tigers, the five members of Lightbearers watched him with sympathetic eyes, after all, out of everyone here, he appeared to be the youngest even though all of them were the same age.
The reason behind it was his easygoing nature and short stature.
As he neared the tigers, he took one final glance at Alex and others hoping for them to call him back but all he received were thumbs up.
"Hah..." he let out a defeated sigh and unsheathed his straight sword.
The moment he did, the air around him changed.
His blue eyes sharpened as he took the stance.
The tigers instantly noticed him.
"Roar!"
"Grrr!"
They growled and roared at him before lunging toward him with their claws drawn forward and their maws wide open.
A calm breath escaped his lips and the world around him came to a halt as he swung his sword.
A click resounded throughout the area as he appeared behind the tigers and sheathed his sword.
The instant he did so two deep, wide arcs appeared across the sides of the two tigers though they were still breathing.
"Did he teleport?"
"What the hell?"
"When did he even reach there?"
Despite having their eyes glued to him none except Alex were able to see him move.
Ren once again faced the tigers and his hand moved to the hilt of his sword.
"How boring," he muttered as he drew his sword, and a bright arc cut through both of the tigers at once.
Ren swung his sword to clean off the blood and skipped toward Alex with a wide grin.
"Did you see that?" He asked despite being aware of how hard it was for anyone to read his moves while he was using his straight sword.
Alex smiled and nodded. "I did."
A mischievous glint passed through Ren’s eyes and he asked in a childish tone, "Did you reallyyy see it?"
Alex chuckled and shook his head. "Nope, you were too fast."
Ren grinned widely and puffed his chest in pride.
The members of Lightbearers stared at Ren with baffled expressions.
"He can’t be the one right?" Naria mumbled in disbelief and Mia responded with a proud smile, "He is the one."
"Ren is the Player with A-Rank swordsmanship talent."
Ren’s talent is Galewind Swordmaster which doesn’t just improve his swordsmanship by bounds but it also makes him so fast that each of his attacks make him seem to be teleporting.
After Crela and possibly Allura, the only person who can defeat Antonio is Ren but there’s just one issue with him...
Ren moved over to his group and said cheerfully with his arms crossed behind his head, "I won’t do anything else today!"
He is too damn lazy!
Alex let out an annoyed sigh and using Sasha’s talent they soon found their next targets.
This time Alex sent Cassie and Harley.
Cassie’s long lime green hair moved with the wind as she nocked an arrow on her bow, aimed at the Furred Moose, and mumbled, "Pierce."
A faint red glow covered her arrow and she let it free. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Tss!
The arrow streaked through the air.
The moose turned its head toward the faint sound in time to see the arrow coming straight for its head.
It let out a shrill cry as the arrow touched its head and the moment it did, the red glow brightened and the arrow pierced right through its head.
"Fantastic," Alex praised.
Cassie looked at him with a smile though she seemed slightly tired.
Cassie had a B-Rank talent which allowed her to enchant items with simple words. These enchants were single-use and were that strong but with her concentration and aim they could prove deadly as a hidden attack.
Some distance away from the moose that Cassie had killed was another beast.
Though unlike the others, it was hiding within a hollow fallen tree trunk.
To its misfortune, Harley already had her starry pink eyes set on it.
She silently moved closer to it then she raised both of her arms in the air as though holding something.
Red and blue static sparks crackled within the space and a giant mace appeared in her hand.
Seeing the mace, the members of Free Sword widened their eyes.
"How is she even able to lift that?!" Ren asked with an excited grin.
Heh. Her C-Rank talent allows her to lift anything by cancelling the weight using her mana. Alex remarked inwardly.
An eerie grin spread across Harley’s face and she brought the mace. "Surprise!"
The moment the mace landed, the ground shook and whatever beast was hidden within the trunk was turned into a bloody paste while the trunk itself seemingly vanished at the center.
She grabbed the mace with her right hand and displayed a peace sign with another while her tongue peeked out with a childish wink. ƒrēewebnovel.com
All of them let out a chuckle at how absurd it was and moved in search of more beasts.
Soon enough, they found a large pack of Silverin Wolves which had metal-like fangs and claws.
Alex looked at the remaining four which had yet to show their talents and said, "Mia, Naria, Wanir, and Julian. Deal with all of them."
The four nodded and stepped toward the wolves.
As they neared Mia, Julian and Wanir took out their swords while Naria pulled out a flute.
In the original story, Naria didn’t become a Lightbearer cause they didn’t even exist instead she was one of the elites of Dark Wolves and that was because of her A-Rank talent.
Naria placed the flute closer to her lips and blew into it.
A melodious sound came out of it and spread throughout the area and following it came a greenish energy ring which struck everyone focusing on her.
The moment it struck the Wolves, they let out a soft growl and their eyes turned fuzzy.
Symphonic Warmonger. That was the name of Naria’s talent.
