Chapter 4: "Time flies quite fast..."

"The fire needs to burn all night..."

Leo added more dry roots to the fire, before unrolling a pair of hides. He stacked them together close to the fire pit. These were going to be his makeshift bed for the night.

And just like that,Leo fell asleep to the warmth of the fire.

"Noooo.....!"

Leo screamed.

"Let them go....!"

A fully armored Leo shouted as his sword cut through one man after the other that blocked his path. He was a beast, six and a half feet tall, two and half feet from one shoulder to another,as for his eyes, they were pitch black, filled with red veins.

The men tried, but his sword cut through their armour like a hot knife on butter.

He knew well that he was tapping not just on his power, but also his life span.

"Bastards...!"

He cursed as a head flew, decapitated with a single swing of the huge sword.

"You know well you will die after exhausting your lifespan..."

A hoarse voice shouted at the ranging monster of a man that was Leo. By now,he had slaughtered hundreds of men on his own.

"Then I will have your bloody head now..."

Leo had retorted as he finally tapped fully on his remaining lifespan. In a blink of an eye,he aged by hundred of years, but the result was immense strength, strength that no man had ever experienced before.

And with such strength,he leaped.

Leaped past the hundreds of soldiers blocking his path.

Leaped past the high walls, and landed on the flying disk above the city, where a man, tall like him,was holding two women and three children hostages.

These were his family, his sister, wife, daughter and two sons.

"You die..."

Leo calmly said, before he disappeared, appearing in an instant at the man’s back, his sword already swinging for the man’s head.

Time stood still, the man turned around, but only his body turned.

The head remained in its former position.

Seconds later,it slid of the body.

Decapitated.

Leo had decapitated the man,but the price he had to pay was his life. But it mattered less to him,as long as the only people he cared for were safe.

"Run...!"

Leo shouted to five as he used his power to tear space and push the flying disk into if,along with his spatial jade, that contained his life long treasures.

"Who dares kill my grandson...?"

An old calm voice filled the entire city and the chaotic battle ground outside.

"The old monster has woken...!"

"The city lord was killed...!"

The men of the city fighting Leo’s army paused for a second from the shocking news of their city lord’s death, and the horrifying news of the old monsters awakening.

As for Leo’s men, they did not falter.

They were happy that Leo had kept his promise.

Two weeks ago, while most of Leo’s men had gone out to defend against two cities that had been attacking their borders, the Chuduwa City lord had led his army to Leo’s city. There they massacred everything that could breath before looting the city and turning it to ashes.

The only survivors were Leo’s family, who had been captured as to enraged Leo into attacking Chuduwa City, where he and his remaining soldiers would be slain.

But the city lord had underestimated Leo’s love for his family.

The man had not only tapped into his lifespan, but also exhausted it just to save his family and avenge his massacred subordinates.

"A mere grand realm ant dares to kill my grandson..."

The old calm voice observed. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

As for Leo,he patiently and calmly stood in the sky above the city, waiting for the old man to show himself.

As for his army below, they had taken advantage of the faltering opponents. Though the city’s soldier only paused for seconds, that was enough time for Leo’s men to strike hard, breaking their formations and cutting them down like weeds.

"Am right here...."

The old voice said from behind Leo.

Leo did not bother turning around.

He had a satisfied grin on as he let go of his sword, and with it,fell a glowing gem.

"Eternal damnation...!"

The old voice, no longer calm, cried out as the old man retreated, but it was too late for him.

He had recognized the gem.

Eternal damnation was a mythical gem, said to posses extinction power.

Whenever one was used, not even a soul could be left intact.

"Yes.... Eternal damnation...."

Leo calmly said as the gem exploded.

Silence was all that was left.

Where ones stood a mighty city,a crater thousands of kilometers wide and hundreds of metres deep was left.

The space around fractured, and the weather changed.

What Leo never came to learn,as he to perished after the gem exploded, was that the Chuduwa City territory was later on marked as one of Konji Planet top chaotic regions. Not even God realm expert dared set foot in it.

"What a weird dream..."

Leo thought as he was woken by the chirping of birds.

System Alert: You have recalled a fragment of your past.

"Wait ...!"

Leo exclaimed.

"That was me....?"

He doubtlessly asked as he recalled the whole dream, but no matter how hard he tried,he could not remember the faces of the five that were supposed to be his family.

This realization left him with a void like feeling that he could not understand.

System Alert: Daily quest renewed.

"It seems like life moves on no matter what dreams I get..."

Leo murmured as he retrieved a banana from his inventory and ate it.

System Alert: You have completed the quest- food

Quest

Daily Quest:Food (completed)

Gather something edible to satisfy your hunger.

Reward: Ten Experience Points

Penalty:Fatigue

System Alert: You have received ten experience points.

Leo had realized that it did not matter of the quantity of food he ate,all that mattered was that he ate something, failure to do so would result to a fatigue penalty that would weigh down and slow him. As for the measly ten experience points, they were nothing much as compared to the two thousand five hundred points needed for his next level up.

"Time flies quite fast..."

Leo said as he stretched a bit.

The fire had burned down to hot charcoals.
