Also,he wondered how the cultivators were ranked,as from his status and the beast inspection panel,he could tell that there existed both a rank,and a level.
For him and Gemini,they had no rank,but for the beasts,he had already come across two ranks. The common rank and the uncommon rank. What was puzzling was that for the common rank beasts,he had not seen one above level five.
To Leo,he assumed that the highest level a beast could attain in a given rank was five. And if this were the case,did it apply to the humans to or was just limited to the beasts,and if it did,then why was he and Gemini not ranked.
He wondered how he,at the forth level would be comparable to a cultivator. Though with each breakthrough came an increase in strength and agility,plus improvement in his stamina and endurance,the changes were not that pronounced.
"How is that boy doing...?"
Leo mind flitted back to Gemini,he pictured the small boy dragging the carcass of the forest dire wolf to the humongous tree and could only shake his head.
It was not until almost noon that an exhausted small boy made his way to the clearing.
"Big brother...!"
"Big brother...!"
Though exhausted,the small boy joyful called out to Leo,who was currently lying on a pile of dirt,his worn out shirt of,as he took a short break.
The pool had already been dug out,all that was needed was cementing it base and walls.
"Big brother..."
Leo smiled,he did like the name. Though he was this child’s lord,both were of closer age,and there was no way he was going to make a small boy call him lord.
"What is it...?"
He inquired, though he already knew what the boy wanted to report.
"I killed a forest dire wolf..."
The boy said,his boy adopting a heroic and prideful nature, while his eyes were filed with expectations. He was waiting for Leo’s praise.
"Still a child..."
Leo thought as he decided to play along.
"No way...!"
He acted surprised as he quickly moved to check the boy for any injuries.
"Yes big brother..."
The boy was overjoyed.
"How big was it..."
He had received the notification,but still,it would not hurt anyone if he decided to indulge the boy a little bit further.
"Like the one in the pit..."
The boy said as he extended his little arms to show the size.
"It sneaked up on me,but I managed to injure it before retreating on top of a tree where I shot arrows at it..."
The boy reported,his voice filled with pride.
"No way...!"
Leo rubbed the boy’s head.
"Where the carcass...?"
"Dragged it back at the hideout..."
Leo smiled at him.
"Tonight,I will good something special for you...."
Hearing this,the boy was all smiles.
"But first,I need you to gather as much dry grass as you can..."
Leo wanted to create some cement for the pool. He planned on gathering as much grass as they could,then burning it.
From this ashes,they would create some sought of cement,by mixing the ashes with water, until they attained a sticky,soft paste. The paste would then be plastered on the base and walls of the pool, preventing water loss through ground absorption.
They spent till late afternoon gathering the grass,had their lunch as the dry grass burned and when all the ashes were gathered,Leo retreived two of the stone water containers from his inventory.
He had the boy replicate an extra container,as they needed one for the mixing,since the other two were filled with water.
Leo showed the boy how the cement like paste was made.
They first added water to the stone container,and scooped lots of ash in,and stired slowly while adding more ash to the mixture as to create a thick paste.The remaining chafs that floated above the water were removed.
It only took thirty minutes to have a thick consistent paste ready. Leo poured the ash paste into the pool. He had no viable tools for applying plasta,so he ended up using his hands.
"I will start with the walls,and you will continue making the ash paste..."
Leo instructed the boy.
At such a time,he wished he had more subordinates as he required more hands for manual labour. The two of them were not enough. freewebnovёl.ƈom
For the rest of the afternoon till late evening,the two worked on the pool,one boy applied paste,and at times rushed to the stream to fetch water,while the smaller boy stired the ash paste until his arms were sore.
At the end of the day as they cleaned themselves at the stream,each felt proud of the days achievement.
To the small boy,he had managed to slay a dire wolf on his own,and earned an extra a hundred copper coins,his big brother was happy for him and he had helped the big brother with the pool. As for the the big boy,he was happy that the pool was done,he had already connected the stream to the pool, even installing a valve to control the amount of water flowing to the pool.
The valve was quite simple,it was a big log of wood that was suspended over the joint on a small tripod. All one needed to cut the flow of water to the pull was lower the wood at the joint of the stream and the canal.
The wood would act as a blockage,as it was currently. Leo had blocked the small canal as to give more time for the ash paste to dry and harden.
"Big brother..."
"What are we having for dinner...?"
The small inquired as they left the room.
Leo thought for a while.
"We shall have roasted meat, accompanied by smashed potatoes and some vegetables and fruits..."
"Plus berry juice..."
Leo added, though all he wanted was to sleep as to ease his exhaustion,he had to make their meal.
"Roasted meat..."
The boy smiled as his stomach growled in hunger.
"I need more subordinates..."
Leo thought.
They could have gone home to a hot meal and bathe before hitting the bed,but now,they had to go prepare their meal.
