Chapter 275: The Doctor’s Distraction

Leo

"Thank you for accommodating Miller for the night," I whispered to Rhys as Miller and I headed toward his car.

Rhys looked from me to Miller before smiling knowingly. "Kayden is resting right now, so I will tell him you both made up once he wakes up," he responded casually.

I nodded immediately. "Make sure he does not stress himself too much until the appointment," I began, my voice instantly slipping back into doctor mode. "As much as he needs rest, make sure he still gets light physical activity because prolonged inactivity during pregnancy can negatively affect blood circulation, muscle stability, and hormonal regulation. Moderate movement will help both him and the baby instead of him sleeping around all day without proper—"

"Now who exactly is sleeping around?"

Kayden suddenly appeared behind Rhys while yawning loudly and stretching his arms above his head.

"I was resting, not sleeping lazily, please," he complained before yawning again.

Then he immediately walked closer to Rhys before grabbing his hand dramatically.

"I think..." he pointed toward his still-flat stomach with complete seriousness. "The baby is hungry."

Rhys immediately chuckled before lowering his head toward Kayden’s stomach.

"Oh my goodness," he muttered softly while rubbing Kayden’s stomach gently. "Then I absolutely must feed both you and our baby."

Miller let out a laugh beside me, clearly entertained by the ridiculousness unfolding in front of us.

Meanwhile, I rolled my eyes so hard they nearly hurt.

What exactly was their problem?

Why were they acting disgustingly sweet in front of me?

"Come," Rhys whispered before kissing Kayden’s stomach again. "Let me feed you properly."

Then, without warning, he lifted Kayden into his arms bridal-style like they were inside some terrible romance movie.

I immediately made a disgusted sound.

"Oh please, I genuinely do not want to witness all of this," I groaned dramatically. "That is not medically necessary behavi—"

Before I could finish speaking, Miller suddenly lifted me off the ground.

"What the hell, Miller?!" I yelled immediately in shock.

Rhys and Kayden burst into laughter almost instantly.

My entire face burned red from embarrassment while Miller looked far too pleased with himself.

To distract myself, I immediately started rambling professionally.

"Make sure Kayden gets adequate nutritional intake, sufficient hydration, proper prenatal vitamin management, and enough physical rest without remaining completely sedentary because excessive inactivity during pregnancy can increase circulatory complications and fatigue levels," I spoke rapidly while trying very hard not to acknowledge the fact that Miller was still carrying me like I weighed nothing.

"Go on, Doctor Leo," Kayden teased while laughing softly. "Go have a wonderful time with your annoying boyfriend."

"And no more fighting," he warned while pointing dramatically at both of us.

Before I could defend myself, Rhys already started carrying him back toward the house while the two of them continued laughing at each other’s terrible jokes.

Honestly, they were unbearable.

I slowly looked toward Miller afterward only to find him grinning down at me.

I honestly expected him to put me down eventually.

He did not.

Instead, he carried me all the way toward the car before carefully settling me into the passenger seat.

I stayed quiet afterward while watching him lean across me to fasten my seatbelt securely like I was some child incapable of functioning independently.

"You came here in a booked ride, right?" he asked while shutting the passenger door.

I nodded quietly in response.

Then I released a slow breath while fidgeting nervously with my fingers.

This felt strangely awkward now.

Even though Miller was my boyfriend and we had already done almost everything couples usually did together, I still somehow felt shy around him in moments like this.

And honestly?

That had nothing to do with my Enigma instincts.

The problem was simply that Miller spoiled me far too much.

And unfortunately, I loved every second of it.

When he finally climbed into the driver’s seat and started the engine, I found myself staring at him quietly while trying to organize my thoughts.

But the problem was that my thoughts were no longer behaving properly.

Because all I wanted at that moment was him.

I wanted him to touch me.

I wanted his attention completely focused on me.

I wanted him close enough that I could stop thinking about everything else that happened tonight.

The drive started quietly afterward.

Neither of us spoke for several minutes.

Miller kept his eyes focused on the road ahead while my heartbeat continued pounding heavily inside my chest for reasons I did not want to examine too deeply.

Then eventually, he glanced toward me briefly before smiling softly. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"Hey," he muttered gently while taking his eyes off the road for a moment. "Are you alright? You are being unusually quiet because normally by now, you would already be lecturing me about the statistical probability of vehicle collisions caused by distracted driving."

I blinked slowly while staring at his lips.

Then before I could properly think through my actions, I leaned across the center console and captured his mouth in a slow kiss.

Miller’s eyes widened immediately.

Then he quickly pulled away in shock. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"What the hell?" he exclaimed. "We are going to crash!"

I let out a quiet laugh before glancing toward the empty road stretching ahead of us.

We still had not reached the main highway yet, which meant the secluded road around us remained almost completely deserted.

"The probability of a collision occurring on this specific road segment under current traffic conditions is statistically insignificant," I replied calmly while trailing my fingers slowly along his arm. "And besides..."

I leaned closer again.

"I want you right now."

Miller gave me a stunned look.

"Right now?" he repeated slowly.

I nodded once before pointing toward the darker side of the secluded road nearby.

"Let us take twenty minutes before seeing Jace again," I murmured quietly. "That should not be medically catastrophic, right?"

A slow grin spread across Miller’s face afterward.

"Right..."

Then he carefully pulled the car toward the side of the empty road before shutting off the engine completely.

The second silence filled the car, I moved first.

I grabbed the waistband of his joggers before pulling him closer toward me while my pulse pounded violently beneath my skin.

Miller inhaled sharply the moment my fingers wrapped around his cock.

And honestly?

The sound alone nearly destroyed whatever restraint I still had left.
